BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Werewolf Christian Hart thought he missed the action of battling vampires—until an encounter with vampiress Danni Weber. She bites him during their fight, the worst fate imaginable for a wolf. His pack would banish Hart forever if they find out. Nevertheless, Hart finds himself drawn to Danni, his sworn enemy, a woman he knows is as deadly as she is beautiful.

Then the blood hunger hits. Hart refuses to harm a mortal, even as his desire for blood and sex becomes too overwhelming to fight. His solution: turn to Danni to satisfy his cravings

REVIEW:
Another great novella from Michele.   This girl can really write a short story that sucks you in quickly and doesn’t let you go.  I really enjoyed this story but because this was a novella my review will be short and sweet.

LOVED Christian and all his pain in the butt werewolfness. Danni, is one guts vamp who brings this werewolf down a road that he would have never gone down his own.

If you are a fan of Michele’s stories you will really enjoy Claiming the Wolf.

Kelly’s review of Enforcer’s Redemption by Carrie Ann Ryan

TITLE: Enforcer’s Redemption – Redwood Pack #4
AUTHOR: Carrie Ann Ryan
PUBLICATION DATE: 11/06/12
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N
BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Adam Jamenson has suffered through the worst loss known to man. The only reason he lives day-to-day is to ensure the safety of his Pack. As the Enforcer of the Redwood Pack, it is his job to protect all in his path, though he was unable to protect the ones he held dear. The war with the Centrals is heating up and Adam must try and grit through it in order to survive. Though the broken man inside of him may not want to…
Bay Milton is a werewolf with a past. And a secret. She’s met the Redwood’s Enforcer only once, but it left a lasting effect. Now she needs to find him or everything he had thought he lost, may be lost again.
Together, they must struggle and find a way to fight their pasts and present in order to protect their future. But the Centrals have a plan that might make their path one of loss and destruction.

REVIEW:
Enforcer’s Redemption is Carrie Ann’s fourth book in the Redwood Pack series and we get a closer look at Adam and what makes him tick.

*Tissue Warning*  Yes, you may want to have a tissue or two close by because Adam’s book is guaranteed to pull on your heart strings.

Adam is the head enforcer of the Redwood Pack.  Which by itself would be hard enough, but because of his position he lost the two most important things in his life.  His mate and his unborn child.  Since then Adam has retreated into himself and has refused to get close to anyone.  But all of that is about to change when Bay Milton, Adam’s one night stand from a very drunken night eight months ago,  shows up asking for protection.  But there is a problem or two.  Bay is Adam’s mate and she is very pregnant.

Adam and Bay’s journey is full of many heart aches, misunderstandings, lies, learning to let the past go, and learning to love & trust again.  I really loved Adam & Bay’s story.  These two most definitely need a little happiness in their lives.  And after a very hard fought battle I believe that they will get it.

If you are a fan of Carrie Ann’s or the Redwood Pack series you will love Adam’s book.  If you are new to the pack, while I think you could read Enforce’s Redemption as a stand alone I believe you will get more out of the story if you read the series in order.

#1 An Alpha’s Path
#2 A Taste for A Mate
#3 Trinity Bound
#3.5 A Night Away (novella)
#4 Enforcer’s Redemption

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
They’re here.

They ride.

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Born of a match between good and evil, four siblings stand between hell’s minions and everything they want to destroy. They are the Lords of Deliverance, and they have the power to ward off Doomsday . . . or let it ride . . .

Jillian Cardiff came to this remote mountain town to forget the demon attack that almost killed her. Instead, she rescues-and falls for-a gorgeous stranger who has no memory of anything other than his name. Handsome, charming, and protective, Reseph seems like the kind of man whom Jillian can trust. But with hints of a troubling history of his own, he’s also the kind of man who can be very dangerous . . .

Reseph may not know why he mysteriously appeared in Jillian’s life, but he knows he wants to stay. Yet when Jillian’s neighbors are killed, and demon hunters arrive on the scene, Reseph fears that he’s putting Jillian in danger. And once it’s revealed that Reseph is also Pestilence, the Horseman responsible for ravaging the world, he and Jillian must face the greatest challenge of all: Can they forget the horrors of a chilling past to save the future they both desire?

REVIEW:
OMG!!! LOVED!!!
Okay I have to start by saying Larissa, you are the BOMB!! I love your books.  Can you do any wrong?  In my eyes that is a big NO!!!
2nd I am so excited that I got a chance to read Reseph’s book early.  The waiting has been killing me.  I have been in love with Reseph since Sin’s book (so long ago).   I just love the heck out this him.  Even when he was that bastard Pestilence I still has mad love for his crazy butt.  But boy howdy Reseph has a lot to make up for.  Some of which he may never be forgiven for by his friends and family.  That being said I am not sure how to tell you how much I enjoyed this book without giving away too much or spoilers .

So I will say this:
Reseph’s love interest is someone from his past.
These two are perfect for each other and the only thing that will save them both is each other.
We get to see each of the horseman and how they deal with Reseph being alive and not all of them are happy about it.
We get to see a lot of Reaver (think Fall 2013)

Someone Dies

Secrets are revealed

Mysteries are solved

And not everyone is who you think they are.

How is that for a review?  Yes, I know mean..  But if you are a Demonica/Horseman fan you will LOVE Rouge Rider.  I think that you will be surprised too by a few things in this book.

I am super excited to see where Larissa takes us in Reavers’ story.  It is going to be EPIC *No pressure Larissa*

If you have not read Larissa Ione’s books I would highly recommend you start at the beginning with the
Demonica Series:
#1 Pleasure Unbound
#2 Desire Unchained
#3 Passion Unleashed
#4 Ecstasy Unveiled
#5 Sin Undone

Then move on to the Lords of Deliverance series:
#1 Eternal Rider
#2 Immortal Rider
#3 Lethal Rider
#4 Rouge Rider

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
A TIME FOR WAR…
A casualty of the war between the demons and the vampires, Jase Kayrs has been missing for six long years. His older brothers want answers—but they’re going to have to get them from an unlikely source. For when Kane Kayrs tracks down Amber Freebird, what he finds is a blonde, vegan pacifist who has no intention of using her skills in his war…

A TIME FOR LOVE…

Amber enjoys her life of chaotic freedom and has no intention of falling in line just because a sexy-as-sin vampire insists on order. Unfortunately, he discovers she may be the only hope they have of finding his brother, and there’s no way he’s going to let her go—even if it means mating her to gain her cooperation. The two are as different as can be, yet when the dominant Kane and the untamed Amber finally unite to rescue Jase, they just may find that opposites really do attract…

“Hot and fast from beginning to end.”

REVIEW:
AAAhhhhh Kane Kayrs.  The smart brother, the brother with all the answers.  The know it all brother.   Well Kane just met his match in the form of a very feisty female.   Amber knows nothing of the world that Kane lives in.  And when she does find out all she wants to do is get away from this crazy, uber hot man who has a few screws loose.  But Kane is not going to let Amber escape that easily.  He needs her.  She is the key to saving his brother and Kane will do anything to save Jase.

But with Amber, Kane is finally going to realize that he doesn’t know everything.  Not everything can be learned in a book or in a manual or on the internet.  Sometimes your heart knows more then your heart ever will.

I really enjoyed Kane & Amber’s story.  There is so much going on. Not only do we see Kane & Amber’s story. But we learn a little about what has happened to Jase, and I am not sure if or how he will ever get better.   We also get a glimpse into some kind of love triangle between Janie, Zane and Kalin.  And we can only guess as to what Janie is cooking up.  I am very much looking forward to what Rebecca has in store for us next in the Dark Protector’s series

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Sometimes being the grim reaper really is that. Grim. And since Charley’s last case went so awry, she has taken a couple months off to wallow in the wonders of self-pity. But when a woman shows up on her doorstep convinced someone is trying to kill her, Charley has to force herself to rise above. Or at least get dressed. She quickly realizes something is amiss when everyone the woman knows swears she’s insane. The more they refute the woman’s story, the more Charley believes it.

In the meantime, the sexy, sultry son of Satan, Reyes Farrow, has been cleared of all charges. He is out of prison and out of Charley’s life, as per her wishes and several perfectly timed death threats. But his absence has put a serious crimp in her sex life. While there are other things to consider, like the fact that the city of Albuquerque has been taken hostage by an arsonist, Charley is having a difficult time staying away. Especially when it looks like Reyes may be involved. Just when life was returning to normal, Charley is thrust back into the world of crime, punishment, and the devil in blue jeans.
REVIEW:
I need to start with how much I love Darynda as an author.  Her books are always funny.  I really love Charley’s series.  But 4th Grave is my least favorite book in the series so far.  I still enjoyed this book very much, it just was not my favorite.  Although I did love all the Reyes parts 🙂
Charley is just not the same after what happened to her in book 3 (and yes you really should read this series in order).  I am looking forward to Charley healing and getting back on her game.

Reyes is still Reyes.  We do get a little more insight into why Reyes is on earth and what he may or may not wants with Charley.  And all the reasons might not be for the best.   But I want to believe that deep down Reyes is good despite who is daddy might be.

Reyes and Charley are great together and it seems that they are finally getting to a good place (it’s about time you stubborn characters).

I am looking forward to what Darynda has next for us…

Kelly’s review of Phantom Shadows by Dianne Duvall

TITLE: Phantom Shadows – Immortal Guardians #3
AUTHOR: Dianne Duvall
PUBLICATION DATE: 10/02/12
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Dr. Melanie Lipton is no stranger to the supernatural. She knows immortals better than they know themselves, right down to their stubborn little genes. So although a handsome rogue immortal seems suspicious to her colleagues, Sebastien Newcombe intrigues Melanie. His history is checkered, his scars are impressive, and his ideas are daring. But it’s not his ideas that have Melanie fighting off surges of desire . . .

Bastien is used to being the bad guy. In fact, he can’t remember the last time he had an ally he could trust. But Melanie is different – and under her calm, professional exterior he senses a passion beyond anything in his centuries of experience. Giving in to temptation is out of the question – he can’t put her in danger. But she isn’t asking him .

REVIEW:
I will start by saying I love the Immortal Guardian world.  Dianne Duvall does an amazing job of creating a complex world with many overlapping elements.  The same virus, two different results.  The leader of the Immortal Guardians is not what he seems.  Secrets kept from humanity and the Immortals.  Common enemies.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series Darkness Dawns & Night Reigns, but book 3 Phantom Shadow was just okay for me.

I love Bastien.  He is the black sheep of the Immortal’s little family.  But I just didn’t get into these story like I did the first two.  I was very happy that Bastien got a bit of happiness with Melaine.  I am looking forward to what Dianne has in store for us next.

Kelly’s review of How To Drive A Dragon Crazy by G.A. Aiken

TITLE: How to Drive a Dragon Crazy – The Dragon Kin #6
AUTHOR: G.A. Aiken
PUBLICATION DATE: 01/01/12
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Some things never go away, like vile enemies, bad ale, and annoying kin. Honestly, though, I thought I was finished with the one dragon I’d have done anything for: Éibhear the Blue, a big, gorgeous, blue-haired beast who thinks the world belongs to him. The world and, apparently, me.

If Éibhear wants to play the caring hero and travel into the most forsaken of Gods forsaken lands to protect the one woman who doesn’t need it — namely me — I’ll let him. Because while I’m trying to fulfill a ridiculous quest for a pushy god, I’m going to draw this overconfident warlord much too close, rekindle his fires, and enjoy every minute of his delicious defeat.

REVIEW:
Okay, Maybe starting with book 6 was not a good idea.  There seemed to be so much history in this series I think I should have started with book 1.   That being said this book was just okay for me.  Maybe when I have a little more time I will start this series from the beginning.

But a cunning killer at the top of his game is challenging carrie to play to the very end. Now all she can count on are her instincts—and Jase, the one man daring enough to keep her safe….

REVIEW:
I enjoyed Shade of Temptation but not as much as book 1 Shade of Desire.

In Shades of Temptation we get to learn more about Jase and Carrie.  While I really liked Jase and Carrie’s story I kinda felt like these two were forced together.  It took a very long time for me to feel the connection between these two.  They do make a great team, but I struggled a little with them as a couple. But other than this was a good book.
Jase & Carrie have to team up to solve not one but two serial murder cases.  But when one of the serial murders sets his eyes on Jase & Carrie, these two learn quickly how fragile life really is.
If you like a good romantic suspense and liked Shades of Desire I believe you will like Shades of Temptation.

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Owen Wright, alpha of his wolf pack, hasn’t seen jaguar shifter Gabriela Segura in nearly ten years. She was his first love—until he did something to drive her away just as their relationship was heating up. Now Gabriela has returned to Montana, and his craving for her is stronger than ever….

But a recent string of brutal attacks on humans have the wolves suspicious of the jaguars, threatening the tenuous peace between the packs. Before he can claim Gabriela as his mate, they must join forces to prove her family’s innocence and track down the true predator.

REVIEW:
Returning home after too many years away Gabriela finds herself being kidnapped by one of the the local wolf pack and he is blabbering on about jaguar attacks on the locals.   All Gabriela wants to do is get home and find out if what the wolf is saying is true.  To check in with her family to make sure they are all okay. The last thing and the last person she wants to see Owen Wright, the love of her life, the man who broke her heart just walked through the door.

This was a really good novella.  I loved the mystery of who is behind the killings, although I would have loved to get a little more into the heads of the bad guys.  But Gabriela and Owen are great together.

Kelly’s review of Playing To Win by Jaci Burton

TITLE: Playing To Win
AUTHOR: Jaci Burton
PUBLICATION DATE:   09/04/12
ORDER LINKS:  Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Someone’s going to have to let down their guard…

Football star Cole Riley is notorious for doing as he pleases—on the field and off. He parties hard and fights harder, but if he doesn’t clean up his act, his career is over—so Cole reluctantly agrees to work with image makeover consultant Savannah Brooks. He’s not used to being told what to do, especially by some (admittedly hot) Southern belle. As for Savannah, she’s not convinced she can transform this cocky (and aggressively sexy) force of nature. But she’s determined to give it her best shot.

When the sparks start to fly, Savannah lays down the ground rules: no personal complications. If she can turn off the tingle she feels every time Cole gives her a hot stare with his gorgeous baby blues, he can turn off his desire as well. But for two people determined to have it all, a hands-off policy can only last so long before one of them yields.

REVIEW:
Jaci, has done it yet again.  She delivers a very hot, yet sweet story of a big bad ass football player that gets his life uprooted by a very determined female.  A determined female that has been hired to whip this bad boy football player into shape.  But to both of their surprise this chance meeting will change everything for both of them.

Cole Riley is the bad boy of football, the ladies love him, the media loves to hate him and his team mates?  Well, they really couldn’t care less about Cole.  But Cole is a great football player, but the living in the limelight is playing havoc on his career and his future with his new team.

Savannah is a sweet southern girl with a heart of a lion and an iron fist.  She has been hired to whip Cole Riley into shape before the beginning of the season and that is exactly what she plans to do.  Only problem is Cole Riley is drop dead gorgeous and Savannah wants him.    But Savannah has never mixed business with pleasure.
Never…….
Well until now.

I loved Cole & Savannah.  Both are stubborn and determined to live life their way.  Both soon learn sometimes there is a better way to do things.  And together they learn how to make each others life so much better.

If you have not started Jaci’s Play by Play series you really need too.  Theses are great books!!  And yes each book can stand alone but I would suggest starting from the beginning so you can get to know all the characters better.

Kelly’s review of A Season For Sin by Vicky Dreiling

TITLE: A Season For Sin
AUTHOR: Vicky Dreiling
PUBLICATION DATE:   09/04/12
ORDER LINKS:  Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Introducing the Sinful Scoundrels…

The Earl of Bellingham is nothing is not a creature of habit: money, meals, and mistresses must be strictly managed if a man is to have a moment’s peace. It’s a system that works splendidly for him–until now. With his oldest and dearest friends succumbing, one by one, to wedded bliss, Bell is now restless and a trifle lonely. Enter the Sinful Scoundrels–Colin Brockhurst, Earl of Ravenshire, and Harry Norcliffe, Viscount Evermore–who drag him back into society and draw his rakish eye to the ton’s new beautiful young widow. Bell isn’t after a wife, but a challenge. And Laura Davenport should fit the bill quite nicely…

REVIEW:
Season for Sin is Vicky’s new novella and prequel to her upcoming Sinful Scoundrels series.  If you have read Vicky’s “How To” series you have meet The Earl of Bellingham, or Bells as his pals call him.   In Season for Sin we get a closer look at what makes Bells tick and a little insight as to why his is still a very eligible bachelor.

As with ever novella we are left wanting more.  And I will say that as I was reading I was just getting into the story and then Vicky so cruelly leaves us hanging (don’t worry Vicky I still love you).  And I for one can’t wait for the first book in the Sinful Scoundrels series.
