PUBLICATION DATE: 10/11/12
ORDER LINKS: Amazon| B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
T-FLAC operative Rafael Navarro will never allow another woman to suffer the consequences of his dangerous life. But in a world where a terrorist can do more damage with a keyboard than a bomb, he needs the expert help of a cyber-geek. And fast. Fellow operative, and cybercrimes specialist Honey Winston prefers computers to people. But when a serial bomber threatens the world’s financial infrastructure, she’s forced to work closely with Navarro, whose notorious skill in the bedroom is as legendary as his dexterity defusing bombs. Honey and Rafael must fight sparks hot enough to melt their resolve, and push beyond fear itself, as they join forces in a bid to race the clock before a sinister and lethal bomber proves just how much they both have to lose. T-FLAC is back, and the timer is counting down in the most pulse-pounding explosive op yet.

REVIEW:
Ice Cold is Cherry Adair’s 17th book in the T-Flac series. But can easily stand alone. As this was the first book in this series that I have read. So never fear if you are not catch up on this series

I enjoyed this book, glad that I read it and would suggest it to my fellow book readers. But I didn’t love this book. At times I found myself a little board and would skim parts. But I did like the relationship between Honey & Rafael. I did enjoy even if I was left with a few unanswered questions. At the end I felt like there were questions about Rafael’s past that were never answered. Questions that I think Honey would have wanted answered. But all and all it was a good story.

If you are a fan of Cherry Adair I believe you will like this story.

Kelly’s review of Santa’s Executive by Carrie Ann Ryan

TITLE: Santa’s Executive – Holiday, Montana #2
AUTHOR: Carrie Ann Ryan
PUBLICATION DATE: 12/4/12
ORDER LINKS: Amazon |B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Justin Cooper wasn’t always the straight-laced Holiday Elementary School principal. In his youth, he broke all the rules and enjoyed being the bad Cooper brother. One Christmas Eve night he got a little too rowdy and things changed forever. Now the consequences of that fateful night have come back in full force and the myths of Christmas might be more real than he thought.

Rina Brewer is one of Santa’s elves. Not the tiny cute little toy maker, but the sexy, petite, energy filled bombshell kind. She’s come to Holiday to aid Justin in his new role as Santa’s executive, but as soon as she sees the sexy ex-bad boy, she realizes the job may be more than she bargained for.

As they work together to make this Christmas one to remember, an old foe has come to town to make sure that this holiday is the coldest yet.

Warning: Contains a perky elf who dreams of something more, a Christmas myth who may be a baddie, and a sexy ex-bad boy who craves Christmas cookies…and a certain perky blonde.

REVIEW:
Santa’s Executive is book two in Carrie Ann Ryan’s Holiday, Montana series. In Santa’s Executive we get to meet Justin Cooper. The reformed bad-boy of the Cooper Clan turned elementary school principal. Justin finds himself at a bit of a crossroads with the upcoming holiday season. Justin is unsure why or what is happening to him and after the events that happened to his baby brother Matt, Justin is a little freaked out.

When the very cute and bubble Rina shows up at Justin’s door spinning tales of Santa and his new job, he is both taken aback and drawn to this woman. Justin agrees to sit down and listen to what Rina has to say even if he doesn’t want to believe.

I enjoyed this story. I really liked Justin & Rina as a couple. But there were a few holes in the story for me. I few things that while they were not huge or would likely change the story they still bugged me a little. Maybe it was just me. Maybe I was not in the Christmas spirit I am not sure. But I did enjoy the story and I am looking forward to the next installment in Carrie Ann’s Holiday, Montana series

REVIEW:

Kelly’s review of Charmed Spirits by Carrie Ann Ryan

TITLE: Charmed Spirits – Holiday Montana #1
AUTHOR: Carrie Ann Ryan
PUBLICATION DATE: 09/25/12
ORDER LINKS: Amazon| B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Jordan Cross has returned to Holiday, Montana after eleven long years to clear out her late aunt’s house, put it on the market, and figure out what she wants to do with the rest of her life. Soon, she finds herself facing the town that turned its back on her because she was different. Because being labeled a witch in a small town didn’t earn her many friends…especially when it wasn’t a lie.

Matt Cooper has lived in Holiday his whole life. He’s perfectly content being a bachelor alongside his four single brothers in a very small town. After all, the only woman he’d ever loved ran out on him without a goodbye. But now Jordan’s back and just as bewitching as ever. Can they rekindle their romance with a town set against them?

Warning: Contains an intelligent, sexy witch with an attitude and drop-dead gorgeous man who likes to work with his hands, holds a secret that might scare someone, and really, really, likes table tops for certain activities. Enough said

REVIEW:
You know how they say you can always go home? Well don’t ask Jordan Cross that. Home is the last place on earth that she wants to be. But she has no choice, she has to go home and take care of the family home after the death of her grandma. Jordan just hopes that this will be quick in and out of Holiday Montana with very little interaction with the locals. But as with every good plan you better have a backup escape route when the love of your life finds out your back in town.

Matt finally has another chance with Jordan and nothing or noone, not even Jordan is going to stand in his way. Will except maybe his little secret might be a problem, but what can he do about that right now. Right now he has to get Jordan to realize she can’t leave him again…Not ever.

Jordan & Matt are just too sweet together. And like any good love if they have faith in each other they will make it through anything. Even death can not keep them apart.

This was another great story from Carrie Ann Ryan and a great start to a new series. I am looking forward to book 2 in the Holiday Montana series. Justin’s book will be hitting the shelves in December 2012

Ever since he saved Dr. Mackenzie Grant’s life, panther shifter and sorcerer Kalen Black has had trouble keeping the beautiful doctor out of his thoughts, and his heart. But when Mackenzie learns that she is carrying Kalen’s child, no amount of danger will keep her away from the man she loves. To protect his mate and unborn child, Kalen will have to battle a terrible evil, unleash the full fury of his power, and risk destroying them all

REVIEW:
Oh my Kalen……I have been in love with Kalen since he stepped on the pages in Primal Law (book 1). And I feel more in love this him in his novella Black Magic. So I was so super excited when I got my ARC of Black Moon. We finally get to learn more about Kalen. What makes him tick, what his demons are and how far he is willing to go to protect the ones he loves.

Kalen goes through so much in Black Moon my poor heart almost didn’t survive the journey. There was so much that happens I am afraid if I start to tell you I will give away too much. So let me just say…..

Kalen is AWESOME!!!! He is so much stronger than he ever realized. Even if it will cost him everything in the end. Kalen does the only thing he can to save the Alpha pack. Some sacrifices are worth it.

If you have enjoyed the first two books and Kalen’s novella you will love Black Moon. But be warned you may need a tissue, because Kalen my just break your heart.

Kelly’s review of Angel Betrayed by Cynthia Eden

TITLE: Angel Betrayed – The Fallen #2
AUTHOR: Cythina Eden
PUBLICATION DATE: 06/26/2012
ORDER LINKS: Amazon| B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
A LITTLE BIT OF ANGEL LUST.

Sammael – call him Sam – was an angel once. An angel of death. But the dispassionate, watch-from-above thing just wasn’t working for him when it meant watching evil torture innocent souls day in and day out. It might have cost him his wings, but these days, he gets to apply the direct method on the bad guys. Problem is, what’s making his life difficult is a bad girl…

Seline O’Shaw needs protection, and with the hounds of hell on her tail, she’s not going to quibble too hard about where she gets it. Sam’s virtue is questionable, but he’s smoking hot, massively powerful, and owes her a favor. So what if she’s getting a little case of angel lust? There are some damn deadly sins after her hide

REVIEW:
AAAHHHH, Sam……
We got to meet him in Angel of Darkness (bk1). We know that Sam is not really one of the good guys. He is one of the Fallen and very proud of it. But Sam does seem to have a little bit of a heart. He did after all help Keenan & Nicole right? Well only because there was something Sam wanted. Something he wanted for a very, very long time….. Revenge.

Seline is on a mission to destroy, but her mission has changed. All she wants is to survive and be free from the one who controls her. So in order to do that she will have to turn the tables on Rogziel by turning her next victim into her hero. All she has to do is get Sam on her side. But the Fallen doesn’t trust that easily

I enjoyed Angel Betrayed book 2 in The Fallen Series a little more. I love Sam. He is a tough no nonsense kind of guy that finds his world turned upside down by one very small demon-hybrid. Sam learns that there is so much more in the world then hate. But the question is will it be too little too late? Or will fate finally give him what he needs?

Very much looking forward to book 3 Angel in Chains. If you have not started Cynthia’s The Fallen Series yet and you love angels you should go pick up a copy. I would suggest starting with book one!

Kelly’s review of In Her Sights by Charley Colins

AUTHOR: Charley Colins (aka Keri Ford)
PUBLICATION DATE: 10/16/12

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Some call her a killer.
Others call her a hero.

Lexie Olympia calls herself neither. She’s getting the job done because she can. A beloved philanthropist by day who’s nicknamed Melville’s Sweetheart, Lexie has the city wrapped around her little finger. Having been a victim in the past, left behind with the killer still on the loose, Lexie knows what it’s like to live with that fear. Instead of biting her nails over it, she takes action. Drug lords, gang leaders, con artists, kidnappers, serial killers, anyone who leaves behind innocent victims are marked on Lexie’s list.

When a neighbor leaves a stolen ancient dagger on her doorstep and skips town, Lexie’s left picking up the pieces. The police, a local private investigator, and a gang are all after this artifact and Lexie uses her nighttime persona, Artemis, to get to the bottom of things. Everything is going smoothly until she gets caught.

REVIEW:
I love that Keri stepped out of her comfort zone of the Apple Trail series and try her hand at Mystery Romance. I loved her new book “In Her Sights” book 1 in the Lexie Olympia Series. Written under the pen name Charley Colins.

I love that Lexie Olympia is not what she seems. She is not the spoiled princess most people think she is. What she really is, well a secret that if it gets out could get her killed and those who know what she does

But Lexie’s perfectly planned life is about to flipped upside down by the man who just broke into her house. Lexie is going to quickly learn that this stranger is going to become a very important person to her and her cause.

If you enjoy a good mystery romance I would suggest picking up a copy of IN HER SIGHTS and learn a little about Lexie Olympia and her secrets.

Kelly’s review of Angel Of Darkness by Cynthia Eden

TITLE: Angel of Darkness – The Fallen #1
AUTHOR: Cythina Eden
PUBLICATION DATE: 11/29/11
ORDER LINKS: Amazon| B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
As an angel of death, Keenan’s job is to collect the souls on his list. He’s carried out his duty for two thousand years and never faltered once. Until he meets Nicole St. James. When the moment of death comes, Keenan hesitates, and instead of taking Nicole, Keenan touches the vampire who’s attacking her.

Cast out of heaven for disobedience, Keenan plummets to earth. Six months later, he finally manages to track Nicole to a bar in Mexico. He’s stunned to discover that the woman he remembers has undergone a dramatic change—she’s become a vampire. And when he realizes that she’s the target of all manner of enemies—other vampires, demons, even shifters—he’ll do whatever it takes to protect her, even if all hell breaks loose

REVIEW:
Keenan is an angel of death.  All Keenan has ever knew is to follow his orders.  But all that changed when Keenan saves Nicole from the vampire that was just trying to kill her.   But with that one choice Keenan changed both his life and Nicole’s life forever. You see because he disobeys his orders Keenan is forced to become a Fallen Angel.  Nicole well, she may have survived the attack but she has been changed too.

I enjoyed this book.  Keenan is a pretty bad-ass hero.  He know what he wants and doesn’t stop until he gets it.  Nicole is a tough cookie, who wants nothing more than to be left alone.   These two make a really good team.  They need to be a good team because they don’t know who around them is a true friend or foe.

If you have not started Cynthia’s The Fallen Series yet and you love angels you should go pick up a copy.

But for Amy, escaping the bloody fallout is only the beginning of a much longer odyssey—spanning miles and decades—towards the time and place where she must finish what should never have begun.

REVIEW:
HOLY SHITE!!!!!!

This book was intense. I do have to say I really love my HEA books… But this was a great book. Very well written. As I said before very intense. Depressing, Doom & Gloom the whole way through.

And WOWZA what a way to end a book…

If you have not read this book I would suggest putting it on your list to read. Yes it is a super long book 800 pages strong or if you do as I did and listen to on audio 36+ hours.

But it was worth every tear and heartbreak I suffered along the way. I am looking forward to book 2 The Twelve and very much looking forward to book 3 The City of Mirrors.

Kelly’s review of The Last Girl by Kitty Thomas

TITLE: The Last Girl
AUTHOR: Kitty Thomas
PUBLICATION DATE: 02/04/12
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Six years ago strangers broke into Juliette’s house; she was home alone and only thirteen. She kept her eyes closed, praying that if she didn’t see anything, she wouldn’t be killed. No one harmed her. In fact, one of the thieves protected her. Now Juliette’s dreams are haunted by him.

Christian has waited to take her, resisting the urge each night. It always ends badly with human pets. They’re too fragile. The longer he can wait, the better, because the moment he takes her, the clock on her life starts ticking down.

Then she’ll be gone forever.

Warning: This book is dark erotica meant for a mature audience only.

REVIEW:
Kitty warns you at the beginning of this book of the things you will find in this book.  This is not a book for everyone. Bondage ~ Knife Play ~ Girl on Girl ~ Anal Play and many other taboo topics.
This is not your typical love story.  So be warned it you choose to read.  I really hate it when people read the warning, read the book then complain about the content of the book.

Christian is a very old, very cruel vampire (no nice vamps in this story) who takes what he wants and doesn’t care who gets hurt.  Christian has waited 6 long years for Juliette to come of age and that he has her he will own her until her last breath.  Because the only way she is ever going to leave him is with death and death will only come by Christian’s hand.

If you have any triggers from any of these taboo topics I would not recommend Kitty’s book for you.  But if you don’t mind pushing the boundaries you should pick up a copy of The Last Girl.

But I enjoyed this book.  It was a pretty quick read and I really had high hopes for both Christian and Juliette.  But like I said there are no nice vampires in this book and this is not your typical love story.  But there is love even if it is a little twisted.

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
From New York Times bestselling author Maggie Shayne comes the first novel in her thrilling new trilogy, THE PORTAL She was born to save what he is sworn to destroy…

A lapsed Wiccan, Indira Simon doesn’t believe in magic anymore. But when strange dreams of being sacrificed to an ancient Babylonian god have her waking up with real rope burns on her wrists, she’s forced to acknowledge that she may have been too hasty in her rejection of the unknown. Then she meets mysterious and handsome Father Tomas. Emerging from the secrecy of an obscure Gnostic sect, he arrives with stories of a demon, a trio of warrior witches-and Indira’s sacred calling. Yet there’s something even Tomas doesn’t know, an inescapable truth that will force him to choose between saving the life of the woman he’s come to love-and saving the world

REVIEW:
I have to start with I loved the novella The Legacy of the Witch that starts off “The Portal” series.  But I had a hard time with Mark of the Witch.  I liked Indira, I like the depth of what is happening to her.  I liked Tomas, but he drove me nuts.  I understand that they both have to deal with what is real, what is not and the strangeness of the past that they share.   I just didn’t connect with these two characters.

I really like the idea behind this whole series and will keep reading and hope that the next two books are better for me then this one.

Kelly’s review of Hunter’s Season by Thea Harrison

TITLE: Hunter’s Season
AUTHOR: Thea Harrison
PUBLICATION DATE: 09/18/12
ORDER LINKS:Amazon |B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
A Novella of the Elder Races

Duty. Devotion. Desire. When fate brings two isolated people together, love is in the cards.

As a palace guard and assassin for the Dark Fae, Xanthe always wore a mask, hiding her emotions to do her duty. But when her identity is compromised, she trades undercover work for guarding Queen Niniane—a position that often brings her in contact with Chancellor Aubrey Riordan.

Aubrey’s trust is shattered. A year ago his wife tried to assassinate their new queen in his name, a betrayal of everything he believes in. And now an attack on his life is proof the dark conspiracy is not yet over. Although injured and weak, Aubrey can’t help but be drawn to this shy assassin and loyal protector. Xanthe is everything Naida wasn’t, and the passion she stirs in him is something he thought had long passed him by.

Warning: Take a man recovering from an assassination attempt, the assassin sworn to protect him, add in a magical Tarot card deck and an isolated cabin, and watch the sparks fly!

REVIEW:
Another great novella from Thea.  And just like any good novella I don’t want to give too much away.  But it is so great to see Aubrey finally get a little bit of happiness after all the sadness that he suffered in Storm’s Heart.  It was great to see Niniane & Tiago. But I really enjoyed Xanthe she is a tough warrior, yet she longs for something that she never thinks she deserves.  That makes Aubrey the perfect person to show her that loves heals all.

If you are a fan of Thea Harrison you will enjoy this novella.
