THE LOVING DAYLIGHTS

Shy Jane Spyrus loves gadgets. She can build anything B.L.I.S.S. needs in the international organization’s fight against crime-although its agents aren’t exactly lining up at her door. Some of them think her inventions are a little too . . . well, innovative. Like her shrink-wrap prophylactic constraints, or her spray-on truth serum.

Of course, you can’t use wacky inventions to fix all your problems; Jane knows that better than anyone. Her neighbor has been kidnapped, driving that point home. She will have to team up with another human being-and Abel Andretti arrives just in time. He will help Jane find her neighbor, stop a villain, and most of all he will show Jane to love the daylights out of something without batteries.

She hadn’t been thinking, that was obvious, Jane decided, and tossed the little packets back into her briefcase, then reached to retrieve the banana and it’s spiked holder.

“What are you doing?” Y asked sharply.

Jane paused and flushed. “I was going to skip this item. It’s rather silly and I thought I should just move on to-”

“No skipping,” Y said firmly.

Mr Manetrue nodded, adding, “Even if your idea doesn’t work out, Jane, it may spur another idea from someone else here, or even yourself. That’s what these meetings are about, remember?”

Jane blew out an unhappy breath, but set the banana and its holder back and retrieved the small foil packets from her briefcase. “This idea- Well, my gran was telling me once about an agent friend of hers who was raped while on assignment and I thought-” Her face was flaming and she knew it, but she had no choice but to continue, so straightened her shoulders and blurted, “I came up with the BLISS Shrink-Wrap Condom.”

Dick Hedde was not the only one to laugh this time, although most of the other laughs were more embarrassed titters. Jane did her best to ignore them and walked over to hand a packet to both Y and Mr Manetrue before returning to her spot and opening the packet she’d kept for herself.

“As you can see, the label suggests the condom contains a Viagra-like substance to increase longevity and increase sensitivity and pleasure,” she mumbled, wishing she’d thought a little harder about this before deciding to present it. “This is to make it appear more attractive to anyone who might use it.”

Jennifer’s Review of The Loving Daylights

Review (4 Stars)  Jane Spryus loves creating gadgets for her job at B.L.I.S.S. and is great at it except her ideas border on being too creative and unconventional.  One night, she takes some of her inventions home with her and her next door neighbor, Edie, “borrows” one, unaware that object is more than meets the eye. When her neighbor ends up being kidnapped, it is up to Jane and Edie’s brother to find her and save the day while falling in love at the same time.

The Loving Daylights is a very cute romance with the right amount of espionage to make it entertaining and keep you on the edge of your seat.  Jane was a very shy character in the beginning of this book and she felt that everything she did was wrong.  Never in a million years did she imagine to meet a handsome guy and go on an adventure of a lifetime.  I liked Jane and Abel as a couple because they were both very sweet and reserved and just seemed to bring out the best in one another.  The story is quite different than Ms. Sands vampire series but I think it is a fast-paced fun adventure that I’m sure will please fans of her books.

Book Spotlight & Review: You’re So Fine by Kieran Kramer

CAN THE ROLE OF A LIFETIME…

Lacey Clark’s dreams of Hollywood stardom didn’t turn out quite the way she planned. Instead, her life is more of the daytime-drama variety: One of her actor ex-boyfriends fathered a child with another woman, and now, long story short, Lacey is the adopted single mother of his son. She takes little Henry with her to South Carolina to escape the film business but winds up working at a small movie studio, determined to do a good job both on set and at “home.” Only problem is she ends up sharing a house with movie star Beau Wilder, who is no role model for Henry—and only spells trouble for Lacey…

LEAD TO A HAPPY ENDING?

Beau is arguably the most gorgeous man on the planet—and a known ladies’ man. His wealthy Lowcountry pedigree is rivaled only by his bad-boy charm, a combination that proves irresistible for Lacey. And he adores Henry! If they weren’t both on a movie set, their lives would seem too good to be true…unless the chemistry—not to mention the burning attraction—between them is real, and Hollywood’s golden boy is actually falling for this sassy single mom? When it comes to love, sometimes you just have to throw out the script…

Jennifer’s Review of You’re So Fine

Review (4.75 Stars): I love Ms. Kramer’s books and You’re So Fine is a wonderful tender-hearted romance with a dash of southern hospitality and charm. Lacey Clark has left the bright lights of Hollywood to raise her son in South Carolina and finds herself sharing a house with Hollywood’s biggest star, Beau Wilder.  Beau is in South Carolina filming a movie that he never wanted to be a part of and never expected to be falling for this beautiful woman with a young child.  Together, they may find a love that is better than any romance seen on the silver screen.

I liked Lacey and Beau as a couple even though they had a rocky start to their relationship.  Beau was considered to be the top of the food chain in Hollywood due to his million dollar pictures while Lacey was known as “the jinx” in the film community because she could only get bit parts and when bad things happened on the set, everyone blamed her.  Lacey wasn’t a jinx but a smart, passionate woman who wanted something better for her son than the life she grew up with.  She knew what it was like to want to be someone else and gave Beau the opportunity to see another side of himself not only an actor but as a man. He never expected to find that what he really wanted was a true relationship and a place that he could feel at home instead of facade of a Hollywood set.  I could definitely see him as a father to Henry and I was glad that he showed this side of himself to Lacey and convince her that he was the right guy for her.  Great romance and I can’t wait to read what is next from the talented Ms. Kramer.

Just as they reached the door of a squat, flat-roofed building, Floyd’s phone started ringing. He checked the screen and with an apologetic smile said, “I’m sorry. I have to take this but you go right on ahead. They’re expecting you.”

Josh took that to mean his staff and he pushed open the door, stepping into a waiting room. Two framed and faded prints of the Rocky Mountains hung crookedly facing each other, and the rest of the wall space was taken up with health posters that urged people to quit smoking, lose weight and have their eyes checked. The reception desk had the usual raised counter and he caught the sight of a computer screen but there was no sign of a receptionist. He could however see a black hoodie slung over a chair. Kitty-corner to the reception desk was a large basket overflowing with toys and in the center of the room a small stack of dog-eared magazines sat on a low table.

Matching green upright chairs— all evenly spaced— bordered three sides of the room making it like most every other waiting room he’d ever seen. The chatter in the room faded as twenty sets of eyes swung straight to him, their expressions a mixture of interest and caution.

With no one available to formally introduce him, Josh took the situation into his own hands. After all, he was the physcian they’d been waiting for and he had experience addressing the media from his time in the E.R. having treated some of the more infamous gang members for gunshot wounds. Clapping his hands together as a sign that an announcement was about to be made, he said with appropriate gravitas, “Hello. I’m Dr. Stanton from Chicago’s Mercy Hospital and I’m in Bear Paw for—”

“Has Randall finally quit to fish?” an elderly lady asked in surprise.

Josh wasn’t used to being interrupted. He opened his mouth to reply but another woman got in first. “Lynn didn’t mention it when I met her at the grocery store the other day.”

The man next to her adjusted his glasses and gave Josh a long, hard stare. “Are you a real doctor or just one of those pretend ones they usually send us?”

“Physician’s assistant,” someone added in clarification. “He doesn’t look old enough to be a doctor.”

“Of course I’m a doctor,” Josh said incredulously, still trying to come to grips with the way the conversation was flying off on tangents. It was like being on a stage with a cast who’d gone off-script. “I’m a qualified E.R. physician.”

“Oh, I used to like that George Clooney,” a woman who looked to be in her sixties said with a dreamy smile.

Now he was seriously in the twilight zone. “He’s an actor,” Josh said firmly, his voice sounding overly loud. “I’m board-certified. A real doctor.”

The room went silent and the geriatric inquisition stared at him unhappily. This wasn’t going quite like the ticker tape parade he’d imagined.

“I’m quite aware that Mr. Clooney’s an actor,” the woman said with a sniff. “He made a fine doctor.”

The inference was clear— Josh was coming a distant second to an aging Hollywood actor who’d starred in the role fifteen years ago. What the hell sort of a town had he come to?

“No one can live up to George, Doris,” said a new voice behind him.

He turned to see a young woman smiling at him.

“That’s very true, Millie,” Doris replied. “I guess for now we’ll have to give Dr. Stanton the benefit of the doubt. Mind you, he’s got a look of a younger George with his height and curly hair.” Doris sounded slightly mollified.

“I’ll do my best.” Josh said uncertain exactly how to proceed. Right now he’d take a patient with a gunshot wound or an off-his-face meth addict rather than face this group of critical seniors. He was used to being judged on his clinical skills, not his ability to look like an actor.

The young woman stuck out her hand. “I’m Millie Switkowski, nurse practitioner and I’m your go-to person here at the clinic. Welcome to Bear Paw Dr. Stanton. I’m looking forward to working with you.”

He gripped her hand like it was a life preserver in a choppy sea. Finally, he’d met someone who seemed professional and competent. Hell, she was the first person he’d met in Bear Paw who seemed normal.

The memory of dancing green eyes, a sassy mouth and a sweet behind, flooded him and he immediately tried to shut it out. Katrina McCade wasn’t normal— she was difficult, bitter, bossy and annoying. And as sexy as hell.

Someone coughed— a wet and hacking noise that was the insidious sound of heart failure. It immediately focused him. The town and its population might be as foreign to him as Kazakhstan and he may not have gotten the welcome he’d anticipated, but this he knew. He swung round briskly. “Who ever owns that cough, I’ll see you first.”

Jennifer’s Review of Montana Actually

Review (4.5 Stars): I enjoyed this sweet romance because it was actually two love stories wrapped in one.  Katrina moved back to Bear Paw to get away from the mess of her life and reconnect with her family.  Josh ended up in Bear Paw to pay down his student loans and never expected to meet the one woman he couldn’t resist.  Together they find that love has been waiting for them all along and they just have to take a chance at a future they have always wanted.

I liked Katrina and Josh together in this story because I loved Katrina’s personality.  She was this spunky firecracker that seemed to be able to do anything she set her mind to except finding the right guy.  Josh was very conservative in the beginning and seemed as though he needed to work on his bedside manner quite a bit to be able to fit into this small community.  They just seemed to work well together and I enjoyed spending time in Bear Paw getting to know these characters.  Montana Actually is a very charming romance that is the perfect start to this series. Bear Paw seems like a great place to visit and fall in love and I’m looking forward to seeing which character is up next for their happy ending.

Guest Blogger: Carolyn Brown

Hello and thank you for inviting me to Books-N-Kisses.Just reading the name of your site makes me smile. Nothing much better in this world than books and/or kisses!

In my newest release, The Trouble with Texas Cowboys, Sawyer O’Donnell and Jill Cleary had no idea that they were going to be sharing a bunkhouse until the deal was already done. Sawyer’s first thought, after Jill put down that shot gun she had trained on his chest, was Travis Tritt’s song, “T.R.O.U.B.L.E” and he wasn’t far from wrong. Before the night was done, two cowboys had already come to the door, hats in hand, asking Jill to go to Sunday dinner with them the next day.

Either one, Quaid Brennan or Tyrell Gallagher, could give Jill a life that any cowgirl could only dream about. A prosperous ranch, money to burn, a lifestyle of the rich and famous and the list went on from earth to eternity. So how in the hell did someone like Sawyer, who was the newly hired, ranch foreman stand a chance? Well, there’s more than one way to court a sassy red headed lady and not a single one of them involve spending tons of money.

Sometimes a foot rub can start off a beautiful relationship:

He picked up her feet and put them in his lap, massaging the soles through her socks. “I’m going to Wild Horse for dinner and River Bend for supper, but believe me, it’s not happening but this one time,” he said. “I’ll be ready for them next time around.”

She dramatically threw a hand over her eyes. “Next time? Shit! We’re going to have to outrun them again? That feels so good. Did you ever think of leaving ranchin’ and going into massage work?”

“No, ma’am. My heart is in ranchin’, but it makes a person plumb cranky to have achin’ feet.”

And then there’s daisies! Jill hates roses but neither of the two feuding families knew that about her and they brought roses. Since wild daisies aren’t blooming in the middle of winter, Sawyer finds things with daisies on them to surprise her, like setting an old cracked cookie jar in the middle of the table that had daisies painted on the lid.

Going to church with her on Sunday morning and sharing a hymn book. There’s something about letting the mind wander as the preacher talks that can create all kinds of sinful visions. A long, sexy shower together when he washes her hair and tells her that he’d planned to let her sleep late while he did their chores.

And slow dancing after the bar closes its doors. There’s just something about swaying to a country music song on the juke box that has “courting” written all over it.

So what would you consider the ultimate cowboy date? Does it involve wining and dining or would you rather have something like Sawyer gave Jill in The Trouble with Texas Cowboys?

When Sawyer O’Donnell takes a ranch job on a whim, he lands smack dab in the middle of a Texas-sized feud! The Gallaghers and the Brennans are at each other’s throats to woo the red-headed spitfire, Jill Cleary, and stake a claim for the Fiddle Creek Ranch.

Jill makes Sawyer’s blood boil. They argue, they banter, but Sawyer soon goes from being driven crazy to crazy in love. Damned if he knows how that happened. But now that it has, how does he compete with two men that can give this cowgirl a lifestyle beyond her wildest dreams.

Jennifer’s Review of Mistletoe on Main Street

Review (3.75 Stars): Grace Madison has returned home for the holidays to spend time with her family after breaking up with her boyfriend and her career as a writer isn’t going how she planned. Being home in Briar Creek brings back a lot of painful memories of her past life with her childhood sweetheart, Luke Hastings, who she just happens to run into at every turn.  For Luke, seeing Grace is just as painful because he is still reeling from the loss of his wife to a brain aneurysm and the secrets that he has been hiding about the day that she died.  By being near Grace, Luke is reminded of what he has lost and this holiday season, he may just find what he has always needed in his life.

Grace and Luke were an interesting couple that lived their lives with so much sadness.  Grace left Briar Creek as a young girl to discover the bright lights of New York to fulfill her dreams of becoming a writer. Luke let her go because he knew that he was meant to stay in their small town and he couldn’t stand in the way of her dreams.  Both of them wondered what if, but the timing wasn’t right since Luke had met another and was planning to marry her when Grace came back for him.

Now, they are both in Briar Creek single and their past keeps standing in the way of their future.  Luke can’t let go of the guilt he feels over his deceased wife and I was so angry and irritated with him through most of this book.  Grace was trying to make a fresh start by reopening her father’s bookstore and Luke’s guilt kept preventing them from finding happiness together.  I just wanted to smack him by the end of story and I thought that his decision to be finally be with Grace was almost too little too late.

I loved Grace’s family especially her sisters, Anna and Jane.  I am looking forward to reading Anna’s story in A Match Made on Main Street and I’m hoping that Jane will get her happy ending as well after what happened to her in this book.

Country music princess Starlet Brubaker has a sweet tooth for moon pies and cowboys: both are yummy-and you can never have just one. Now Beckett Cates may not be a cowboy, but he certainly has the heart, soul-and body-to whet her appetite. He’s a sexy ex-Marine with a touch hotter than the scorching Texas sun and arms strong enough to catch her when she lands into trouble.

Playing bodyguard to America’s sweetheart isn’t easy for Beckett. But falling for her sure is. Unfortunately, Starlet has a reputation for keeping a guy or two wrapped around her finger and Beckett refuses to be anybody’s backup. So now it’s up to Starlet to prove that she’s put her cowboy-crazy days behind her. Otherwise, she’ll be singing solo instead of living in harmony with the man who’s loved her even before her fame and fortune.

Excerpt:

She stood in the very center of the floor, the tiny dots of light from the disco ball dancing all around her.  At first, he thought she was practicing some song for her next concert, but then a jazz singer’s voice came through the overhead speakers that sounded nothing like Starlet’s sweet country twang.

As the song continued, Starlet started to move.  For the first time, Beckett noticed what she had on:  A feathery dress that flared out on either side and reached to her knees.  With the dress, she wore spiked heels that made her legs look a mile long as she swayed to the beat of the music.  Even when she had weighed more than a bushel of apples, she’d been a good dancer.  The night of her going away party, he had watched from the sidelines while one man after the other had swept her across the ballroom floor.  Back then, he had been impressed.  Now he was more then a little turned on.  There was something about the way she moved that was as seductive as the jazz singer’s voice.  Something about the way she held her eyes at half-mast as her arms came out to her sides—

Beckett’s eyes widened as the feathers of the dress parted for a split second then fluttered back into place.  Suddenly, he realized that it wasn’t a dress she was wearing but two large feather fans.  Two large fans that she proceeded to manipulate around her body in a swirl of white as she twirled and spun around the dance floor.

*EXCERPT*

For three weeks, she’d stared at the door, thinking this had to be some kind of mistake and that at any minute Wilson would walk in and everything would go back to the way it was supposed to be. Then, last night, while watching Under the Tuscan Sun and inhaling a red velvet cake, she realized that she didn’t want to go back to the way things were.
Even scarier, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t pinpoint the exact moment she’d lost balance in her life and in turn lost herself. Which was why she was moving out. It was clear that Wilson wasn’t coming back. And every moment she stayed there, in the place she thought she’d grow old and raise babies, the regret ratcheted tighter around her chest, until breathing hurt.
No, she needed to leave—and pronto. Problem was, the only place she had to go was her parents’ house, where the couture décor and upstate judgment would be equally suffocating, just in a different way. Even thinking about it gave her hives.
“Your mother pays me.” Rosalie narrowed her eyes. “She says to come here and help you. You say you need to move. So I fill boxes. What about this?” Rosalie held up an old shoebox covered in stickers and glitter and enough memories to make her heart jerk painfully. Then jerk again until it somehow landed in her throat, creating a whole new set of problems. Because there, in Rosalie’s pudgy hand, was a part of Josephina’s past that she hadn’t thought about in years.
“Where did you find that?” Josephina gently took the box and walked over to the couch.
She’d cried so much over the past few weeks, she assumed more tears would be impossible. Yet as she slipped open the lid and saw the photo resting atop a pile of letters and keepsakes, her eyes went blurry. This pain was different, as though it originated from someplace old and forgotten, and it packed the kind of power that made breathing almost impossible.
Josephina didn’t know how her life had spiraled so far from center, but she did know that she hadn’t felt as free as the girl smiling back at her in years. She picked up the photo and traced a finger over the rolled edge. It had been taken the summer she’d turned ten and her parents had gone on one of their trips to Europe, leaving her, once again, with her aunt.
It was one of the best summers of her life, spent making mud pies and learning from Letty how to
make real ones. Which was why she was standing on a wooden chair in pigtails, pearls, and a too-big apron, with flour down her front, a whisk in her hand, and a smile of sheer pleasure on her face.
If she closed her eyes she could almost smell the bite of lemons and hear Aunt Letty’s voice: “Careful, child. If you have to beat it that hard then you’re missing an ingredient. Might look perfect today but come morning that meringue will be a big pile of trouble, stinking up the fridge for days to come.”
Josephina placed the photo on the coffee table and carefully thumbed through the box. She dug past drawings and sketches—mostly in crayon and big swirly letters with hearts over the i’s—through magazine clippings and all of the ideas and dreams she and her aunt had cooked up for the old boardinghouse that Letty had called home, stopping when she found what she was looking for. At the bottom, postmarked six weeks before Letty had passed, sat a yellow envelope.
With a shaky breath Josephina opened the flap and pulled out the letter. The paper smelled like lilac and mothballs, and Josephina wanted to press it to her face and breathe in. A faded photo of Letty, standing on the front steps of Fairchild House in mud boots and a rain slicker, holding a jug of her finest moonshine, fell to the couch.
She remembered that last summer, sitting curled up in Letty’s arms while looking out the windows of the salon as a summer storm blew past and listening to Letty recount the story about how her great-great-aunt, Pearl Fairchild, came to call the magical boardinghouse home.
According to legend,  Letty had said, the two-story Plantation-style house was built in the mid-1800s by the first mayor of Sugar, Jeremiah Sugar. It was a masterpiece designed to win the heart of the beautiful socialite Pearl Fairchild, who, moved by his romantic overture and promises of a life filled with adventure, left her family and New York behind to become Mrs. Jeremiah Sugar.
Even the name sounded perfect. But after two months of travel, first in a train and later in a horse-drawn wagon, finally walking the remaining eight miles to the house, Pearl realized there was nothing sugary about her husband-to-be.
The man whom she had defied her parents for, had given her heart to, stood in the foyer. His slacks hung around his ankles, his face blotched red, while his pale backside engaged in rapid undulation under the housekeeper’s smock, so engaged that he failed to notice her enter the residence or even pick up his beloved mayoral gavel.
Pearl never took his last name, the mayor’s body was never found, and the housekeeper—prone to gossip—never had to work another day in her life, instead spending the rest of her days as Pearl’s handsomely paid companion.
Thus, the Fairchild House, boarding for the adventurous, was born.
Josephina turned the photo over and on the back, Letty had simply written: Come home, Fairy Bug. Your adventure is waiting for you.
Fairy, she remembered, clutching the photo to her heart to keep it from breaking, was because Letty swore Josephina was born to fly. The bug part was to remind her that sometimes she had to get dirty to really live.
And more than anything Josephina wanted to live again—really live. She tucked the photo into her pocket and looked at Rosalie. “I need a car.”

Jennifer’s Review of Sugar’s Twice As Sweet

Review (4.25 Stars):  Josephina was such a sweet character and just wanted to go somewhere where she felt safe and was full of endless possibilities such as her great-aunt’s old home in Sugar, Georgia.  Her fiance just broke up with her and everyone treated her as though she was a failure when I saw her as a free spirit who just needed a  place where she could feel loved and accepted.  Meeting the handsome and smooth-talking Brett McGraw wasn’t what she wanted but absolutely what she needed because he accepted her for who she was, not what he wanted her to be.

For Brett, he found Josephina aggravating and lovely all at the same time. She was the one person who made him think about leaving his womanizing ways and try for a real relationship.  And once the McGraw men fall in love, it is for the end of time and their love stories are legend in the little town of Sugar.   I wanted so desperately for Josephina to get her happy ending because after everything she went through she deserved a love worthy of the greatest of “fairy” tales.

Despite the way he unnerved her, it was impossible to avoid noting how wonderful he
smelled. It was a spicy, potently male scent. Deep inside her, a voice cried out for her to press
her fingers against his beautiful mouth. The thought made Victoria suck in a quick, sharp breath
of air.
Nicholas’ eyes darkened with an emotion she didn’t even want to consider defining.

Slowly, he lowered his head until his mouth lightly touched hers. Fire streaked across her
skin, its warmth sinking into her pores until it heated her blood like molten lava. She sighed then
parted her mouth to lace his lips with the tip of her tongue. A dark sound rumbled in his chest as
his tongue swept its way into her mouth and imitated an act her body suddenly craved as if she
were starving.

Pleasure swept its way through her. The fiery sensation of it settled into every inch of her
body.
He said she’d bewitched him, but she was the one under his spell. His lips teased and
seduced hers until her body screamed for more.

She wanted him to touch her. Needed him. She arched her hips upward in a silent plea for
his touch, and a dark growl vibrated on her lips as he tugged the covers off her. His tongue
swirled around hers, teasing and taunting her with each tantalizing stoke. The hot taste of him
made her nipples grow hard until they ached with a pleasurable, tantalizing sensitivity. Eager to
assuage the need for his touch, she caught his hand and pressed it to her breasts. A growl
rumbled out of him as he rubbed his thumb over the rigid peak. The sensation of soft linen
between her skin and his hand made her moan softly as his mouth worked its way across her
cheek to her neck where he gently nipped at her skin.

Need spun through her, and as he lifted his head to stare down at her, she saw desire
darkening his green eyes. A knot of anticipation tightened in her lower body as his hand left her
breast and slid downward to her stomach where the heel of his hand pressed into the sensitive
spot at the apex of her thighs. The simple pressure made her suck in a sharp breath, and a small
smile curved his lips.

“I want to watch you as I make you shatter from my touch, Victoria.” His words
whispered across her senses as his hand pulled the hem of her nightgown upward to expose her
completely.

A Bayou Bound Novella

Kit Carson is back in his home town to do more than promote his latest reality TV win on Tattoo King. He’s returned to win over the woman who kinked up his world, but Renee LeBlanc isn’t the girl he remembers. Ten years can go in a blink of an eye and he won’t let her walk away from him again.

Excerpt from Carrie Ann’s Forever Ink:

“Honestly, I’m good. Just being an airhead. So…you want to get started?” She ran her hands over his broad shoulders and down his arms. So. Freaking. Sexy. “I can’t wait to get my hands on you.”

“You just want to get me naked,” he whispered.

She blushed harder and licked her lips.

He growled low and leaned down to bite her bottom lip. Her toes curled and she cleared her throat. While it would be fan-freaking-tastic to make out with him and taste every inch of him, she was fully aware they were in the middle of the shop.

She could practically feel Sloane’s and Austin’s gazes bore into her back. Yeah, probably not the best place to show so much affection when she was supposed to be working on Morgan’s ink, not his kink.

“Get a room!” Maya called from her side and Callie snorted. Trust Maya to break the moment.

Callie turned on her heel and put her hands on her hips. “Excuse me. I have my own little cubby right here.” She used her fingers to make a box around her. “That’s a room.”

Sloane huffed a laugh. “Maybe get one with walls next time if you’re going to heat up the shop with just a hello.” He smiled as he said it and Callie relaxed. She’d been worried that her friends—family—would be worried or at least a little judgmental about her and Morgan, but she shouldn’t have been. At least from what she saw, they were okay with it, if albeit a little overprotective, but they were like that with any man she brought by.

Morgan’s arm came around her waist and settled over her hip, his fingers playing with the peek of skin between her top and short skirt. Her knees trembled and she bit her lip. Damn the man’s touch alone made her want to come.

Carrie Ann RyanA little about Carrie Ann Ryan:

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan never thought she’d be a writer. Not really. No, she loved math and science and even went on to graduate school in chemistry. Yes, she read as a kid and devoured teen fiction and Harry Potter, but it wasn’t until someone handed her a romance book in her late teens that she realized that there was something out there just for her. When another author suggested she use the voices in her head for good and not evil, The Redwood Pack and all her other stories were born.

Carrie Ann is a bestselling author of over twenty novels and novellas and has so much more on her mind (and on her spreadsheets *grins*) that she isn’t planning on giving up her dream anytime soon.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Flirting With Love by Melissa Foster

Flirting-With-Love-Melissa-Foster

Cover(16)

Elisabeth Nash has spent years dreaming of returning to the small town of Trusty, Colorado, where she spent summers with her favorite aunt. When she inherits her aunt’s farmette, she closes her Los Angeles pet bakery and pampering business, sure that life in Trusty will be as peaceful and as welcoming as she remembers. But being an outsider in the close-knit town proves to be very different from the happy summers she remembers from her childhood—and falling for Trusty’s hot, wealthy, and sinfully irresistible veterinarian, Ross Braden, sends the rumor mill into a frenzy.

Ross Braden learned long ago that gossip spreads faster than weeds in his small hometown, and Ross loves nothing more than his privacy.  For that reason, he doesn’t date women who live in Trusty. But that was before blond, beautiful, and refreshingly honest Elisabeth Nash flew into his vet clinic seeking help for her panicked piglet and turned his comfortable life—and his heart—inside out.

Despite rumors about Elisabeth’s motives toward her aunt’s property, passion brews between Elisabeth and Ross. Every steamy kiss and every sensual touch brings the pair closer together, and when Ross helps Elisabeth try to fit into the town he adores, it makes their bond even stronger. But even Elisabeth’s efforts toward reaching the community, and the love she and Ross so desperately believe in, might not be enough for the protective small town to offer them a future.

Jennifer’s Review of Flirting With Love

Review (4.5 Stars): I loved Ross and Elisabeth together and they just seemed perfect for one another.  Elisabeth moved to Trusty after she inherited her beloved aunt’s property and pie business and wanted to get away from the crazy life that she was living in Los Angeles.  She had always loved the time that she spent with her aunt growing up and couldn’t imagine a better place to start a new life than her aunt’s farm.  Ross was looking for that special someone but couldn’t imagine finding that person in Trusty, where everyone knew everyone else and there was no such thing as privacy.  Having Elisabeth walk into his clinic wasn’t what he expected but exactly what he needed.

Elisabeth was such a sweet character because she was so caring and gentle when you would think that she would be a stuck up California girl since she had spent most of her life in Los Angeles.  She wanted the simple things in life and loved being around animals, just like Ross.  He knew the town would have trouble accepting a stranger but he couldn’t fight the feelings that he developed for Elisabeth and you could just tell that they belonged together.  This was such a great sexy small-town romance and I think that this is my favorite one of the series so far.
