BOOK SYNOPSIS:
From New York Times bestselling author Jacquelyn Frank comes the smoothly sensual second book in an exciting new series featuring four immortal warrior brothers who must stake their hearts against their fate.
As punishment for plotting with his brothers to steal immortality, Garreth is suffering a freezing torment until the end of time. Again and again, his fierce fighter’s physique is frozen into a chiseled ice sculpture, his heart hardening like a diamond in his chest—only to thaw and resume the chilling torture. Until, like his older brother Dethan, he is offered a reprieve from a goddess—in exchange for his allegiance in a celestial civil war.
Garreth lives to fight and fights to live. But while laying siege to an embattled city, he finds another reason to go on—a beautiful warrior woman named Sarielle, who commands a mythic beast through a mysterious and powerful bond. Terrified of her strength, the city rulers have kept her captive, and now she refuses to submit to a new master. As Garreth seeks to unleash her passion and melt the icy resistance of her heart, will he become her ultimate salvation—or lead them both to greater destruction?

REVIEW:
This is the second installment in the Immortal Brothers series and this was just as strong as the first. I really liked Garreth and Sarielle. They each had distinct personalities that were easily likable. Garreth is definitely more likable and personable than Dethan was. Dethan was kinda just a big jerk for the majority of this book. I understood why, but I was also disappointed with him. However, Garreth and Sarielle definitely made up for it. I like how this author takes the time to let the characters truly develop and get to know one another. It gives a clear foundation that she can build on. It’s refreshing and believable. We also see new supporting characters introduced in this book that have real potential. I’m very curious what role these characters could potentially play in future books.

I really enjoy this series. I know it is only the second one but I just love these books.

And of course trouble comes in and Denver is there to rescue. And who doesn’t enjoy a good rescue from a hot guy?

If you are a fan of hunky men, MMA, or romance you will enjoy this story.

REVIEW:
4.5 Hearts Another great Montana Men story by Ms. Ryan. I loved Blake and Gillian’s story. There was so many ups and downs in this story. Every page brought to light a new issue and a new way to deal with said issue. While there were a few story lines that didn’t get explored as much as I would have liked, I loved how much Gillian grows as a person.
Blake is what every wounded bird ever needs. Blake is patient, yet push. He is gentle, yet doesn’t use too many kid gloves and loves so deeply..
Can’t wait to see what Ms. Ryan has in store for us next.

Posing as a happy couple on the dog competition circuit means he and Cole need to get a lot closer than they’ve been in years. Playing a live-in couple should seem like a walk in the park compared to tracking a brutal criminal, but suddenly nothing could be more dangerous than the passionate fire they’ve rekindled…

REVIEW:
Another great story in the new series . I enjoyed the first in the series very much and couldn’t wait to read this one and I was not disappointed. The men of this series are just too perfect but then again that is ok with me. Cole and Scott are hot and the sex is steamy.

And Hugo is enough to melt any girls heart.

Can’t wait for the next in the series.

4.5 Hearts Anyone who follows me knows I love audiobooks and I am always looking for my next audio fix. So when Pines came up on my suggestion list I headed over to audible to listen to the sample and within a minute of listening I was sucked in and knew I had to listen to this story. This is both my first book by Blake Crouch and book narrated by Paul Michael Garcia and I enjoyed very much.
Pines is a twisted story that I could easily giveaway with one sentence but I don’t want ruin it for you. But I will say that as the story went on I lost hope, gained hope, lost hope and then was left with a whole lot of WTF?!!?!?
God I want to tell you so much. But I won’t. I am looking forward to what is next for Ethan and the town folk of Wayward Pines, ID.

Oh and if you didn’t know this: Pines is becoming a TV series on Fox in May 2015. I have seen the previews and it looks like it follows book one very closely.

HOT!!!!
They say if you can’t handle the heat get out of the kitchen. That is so very true in SEARED the first book in the Facile Restaurant series. Remy is like any good chef and very protective of his kitchen. He is the boss and no one is going to invade his space. But when he get stuck one chef down he has to ask for help. Well he was not given much choice but to get help. Turns out one Ms. Devereaux is more than a tight body and a pretty face. She is one hell of a cook.

But I never imagined he would change my life. Bit by bit, I start to wonder if I’m the one discovering him…or if he’s uncovering me.

What happens when the man they call Saint, makes you want to sin?

REVIEW:
Let me start with the cover of this book. Like a lot!!!!
The title? Not as wild about. I almost passed up reading this story because of it (glad I didn’t).
This story is told from Rachel’s point of view, which I don’t normally enjoy first person. And I will admit that in the beginning I was on the fence about how I felt. I was honestly worried about the whole bad boy billionaire meets mild mannered young lady storyline. It seems like this storyline has been everywhere lately. But as the story progressed I really started enjoying more and more. Rachel and Malcolm are beyond yummy together. I really enjoyed the tug and pull between these two. But like every good story there has to be some kind of drama. And it is a big one filled with a lie that could ruin everything.
Than to add to the cherry to the top of the drama sundae Ms. Evans leaves us hanging. Oh how I hate unresolved issues at the end of a story. Now I must try to find my patients until book 2 comes out in July.
Oh and the cast of characters that hang around Malcolm and Rachel *rubs hands together*. Can’t wait to see what happens with them.

Feeling like a voyeur, she pretended a sudden desire to check the state of the coals inside the brass foot warmer. No rise of warmth penetrated her limerick gloves. Regardless, she lifted the lid only to find a bed of finely sifted ash. Closing the lid, she sat back. Then, adjusting the heavy woolen blanket over her lap, she reached for the fur muff on the seat beside her. Beyond the fogged carriage windows, heavy gray clouds shrouded the snow-covered countryside. The scenery should have appeared picturesque. Not bleak and desolate. But suddenly that was how she felt. Bleak, desolate… alone. In fact, if she were the lead character in one of the novels she read, she might expect castle ruins looming in the distance.

Although, much the same, barren trees and scraggily shrubs marked the rutted landscape like scars along the Great North Road. Since the copses of evergreens did not suit a bout of melancholy she chose to ignore their beauty and wallow for a moment longer. Because if one thought about snow-laden boughs, one naturally thought of sleigh rides. And no one could be unhappy while whisking through the brisk winter air with snowflakes kissing one’s cheeks. Calliope’s sigh fogged up the glass, obscuring her view completely. Perhaps, she never should have refused Brightwell’s proposal. She’d genuinely liked his company. When he’d begun to court her all those years ago, she’d known the likely outcome.

Jennifer’s Review of The Elusive Lord Everhart

Review (4 Stars): I loved the fact that Calliope was a dreamer who believed in a fairy tale romance with a secret admirer being her true soul mate.  She knew that she was being silly for believing in this but her heart wouldn’t let her settle for someone that wasn’t right for.  Gabriel has loved Calliope for a long time but had sworn that he would forever remain a bachelor so when he sees Calliope after five years, the sparks fly and he falls in love all over again.  The two of them fit together but it took a few bumps for them to see their way back to each other.  I loved the humor and sexual chemistry between these two and you could definitely see that they would have a happy ever after.  This is the first book in the The Rakes of Fallow Hall series and I can’t wait to see which bachelor is up next for his happy ending.

“Celia’s also my fiancée.” His smile widened as he stroked my back. “She just agreed to marry me.”

Delilah’s gaze swept over the devastation. “After all this? Hell, darlin’, it must be love.” She waved to the other witch who had followed her. “Betty Sue, come here, sweet thang.” The tall African American woman glanced up in the middle of drawing a ring of salt around the shifters. She passed her container to a were and joined us. “This here’s probably the best tracking witch any coven’s ever seen. Tell the young’uns what you did.”

Betty Sue grinned. “The eagle shifter passed over us while we were on our way,” she said. “I hit him with a tracking spell. I’ll be able to trace him within a two-thousand-mile radius. But more important, I’ll be able to warn you any time he reenters the state.”

Hearing I would at least have advanced warning felt like music to my ears. My shoulders slumped with relief. While I didn’t trust most of the broom humpers, some weren’t so bad after all.

“Thank you, Betty Sue,” I said.

“And I thank you on behalf of the Pack,” Aric said.

Which was wolf for “I owe you.”

“Consider it a wedding gift,” Betty Sue said with a laugh.

Delilah pointed a finger at Aric. “And while you’re at it, tell that diva, Genevieve, that if another shifter wanders back here, he’s ours. We’re no spring chickens, but we still have a fight left in our peckers.”

Aric chuckled. “I’ll be sure to tell her just that.”

Betty Sue finished circling the shifters’ corpses with salt. The rest of the coven joined them now that their camouflaging spell was in full swing. They nodded to the weres, then formed a ring around the shifters and joined hands.

Tahoe’s magic stirred as they called it forth. They chanted something I couldn’t quite make out, but each word pricked at my skin with its strength.

My sisters and I had been wary of witches since our smackdown with them when we first moved to the area, but it wasn’t their presence that bothered me then.

Shape-shifters carried the power of hell within them. While they were technically dead, I could still sense their evil surrounding us. “Don’t worry,”

Aric murmured in my ear. “The purity of Tahoe’s magic will cleanse whatever remains in the air after the coven purges the ground.”

My eyes widened. “No one purged the ground after we killed the other shifter. Were we supposed to do that?” I was picturing the last nutcase shape-shifter I killed rising from the ground. It wasn’t the prettiest of images.

“It’s not necessary to us, but it is to the witches. Nature’s sacred to them, and because of the lake’s power, anything directly around it is considered hallowed ground. Their strong beliefs won’t permit them to simply walk away.”

Jennifer’s Review of A Curse Unbroken

Review (4.75 Stars): I can’t tell you how much I love Ms. Robson’s books and I’m glad to say that A Curse Unbroken was the perfect end to Celia and Aric’s emotional journey for the time being. Celia has been through hell and back and was still reeling from the tragic events that occurred in A Cursed Bloodline, but before she can truly recover, she is faced with defeating another dark evil intent on destroying everything that she holds dear.

A Curse Unbroken was an emotional thrill-ride that was jam-packed with action, heartbreak and hope that good will conquer the darkness.  I was in tears by the book’s conclusion, but in a good way, because everything that they have been through over the course of the series was wrapped up rather nicely and made way for a new beginning for these two characters.  I know that Ms. Robson has more stories to tell for these amazing characters and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.  I’ll have my tissues and bottle of wine waiting for the next book.

But if she tells him she loves him, will that put the win in his column? If he doesn’t feel the same, she’s definitely going to lose. And she’s not sure she can afford to have her heart trampled on. Second place won’t cut it this time around

REVIEW:
4.5 Hearts They say revenge is sweet. But for Riley Hewitt revenge sure looks a lot like making out with your enemy in your best friends kitchen.

Gash, it feels like it has been forever since I was in the world of the Terrible Trio and the Best Revenge series. Through the first two books I really like the banter with Riley and Anson.
In Served Sweet we get to finally find out all the reasons why Riley and Anson have this bitter rivalry. It may have all started when they were kids. But Riley and Anson are still trying to win against each other. It makes for a pretty fun story. And to find out that Anson is really good at……. Well I can’t tell you that what is the fun in that. Let’s just say that Anson is really good at everything. Well almost everything. There is one thing he is not good at. Well at least not yet.

Love this whole series and can’t wait to see what Ms. Harte up her sleeve for her next series. If you have not started the Best Revenge series you really should. It is fun, sexy and make you rethink your thoughts on who you want to get revenge on.

When fashion designer Alexandra Rankin Hunt is asked to create the dresses for Olivia Frost’s Christmas wedding in tiny Knights Bridge, Massachusetts, she jumps at the chance. She’s certain she’ll never get to design one for herself not with her history of falling for the wrong men. To Alexandra’s surprise, Ian is also at Carriage Hill, Olivia’s picturesque country inn. And if anyone can charm his way into a wedding, it’s him. Ian wants more than an invitation he’s determined to find a way back into Alexandra’s life.

REVIEW: This was a nice short read just in time for the holidays. This novella is a part of a series that I have not read, but luckily the author gives us plenty of background information to make sure we understand the world she’s created. I enjoyed meeting all of these characters who fans of this series likely already know so well. I really liked Alexandra and her personality, she’s pretty easy going and sweet. Ian is super cocky and confident, but it works for him. They were cute together and I enjoyed their story. If you have an hour to kill, snuggle in with this story.

SERIES #: The Original Heartbreakers #1
CHARACTERS: Jase Hollister & Brook Lynn Dillon
AUTHOR: Gena Showalter
PUBLICATION DATE: March 31, 2015
ORDER LINKS:Amazon| B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter introduces the Original Heartbreakers, where three not-quite-reformed bad boys are about to meet the women who will bring them to their knees.

Just released from prison, Jase Hollister has only one goal: stay out of trouble. Strawberry Valley, Oklahoma, sounds like the perfect place for him and his two brothers-by-circumstance to settle down and live a nice, simple life. Model citizen isn’t exactly this rugged bachelor’s default setting—especially when it comes to a certain hot-blooded Southern beauty—but he’s determined to play by the rules.

Brook Lynn Dillon has always been the responsible type. Not that it’s done her much good. The down-on-her-luck waitress is broke, single and wouldn’t know fun if it bit her. Or so she thinks. Jase makes bad look oh, so good. Dangerous, sexy and tempting as sin, he is everything she never knew she wanted. Passion sizzles between them, but is it enough to melt his resistance? After all, the right kind of trouble might be just what he needs

REVIEW:
Ms. Showalter is a great story teller.
As The Closer you Come started I was not a Jase fan. Why you ask? Well, he was a bit of a dirt bag. That is all I am giving you. You will have to read to find out. But as the story went on and we got to see the real Jase. The Jase that doesn’t hold back and that loves fully I totally fell for him.
Brook Lynn is great. She puts up with so much and almost always stands tall (she is human and sometimes humans react stupidly). I love that when she counts people move. I loved how Brook Lynn handled all the boys (Jase, Beck and West). She is a master of all things. 🙂
There were times that the story was just a tad slow for me. But I think I blame my crazy life at the moment for making me take longer than I normally would to read this story. I really can’t wait for the next two books in this series. I can’t wait to see how Ms. Showalter wrangles Beck & West.
