Top 5 Reasons to Love Ethan
Thank you so much for joining me today! I’m happy to be here at Books-n-Kisses, celebrating the release of SHADOWS STRIKE, the sixth book in my Immortal Guardians series. (If you’re new to the series, don’t worry. The books can be read as stand alones. You’ll just be more familiar with the secondary characters if you read them in order.) Today I thought I would help you get to know Ethan, the hero, by giving you five reasons Heather fell in love with him.
1
He loves strong women.
“You’re beautiful, you’re smart, you think quickly in a crisis, and you kick ass. Do you have any idea what a desirous combination that is?”
—Ethan, Shadows Strike
2
He has a sense of humor.
He grimaced. “Hell. I probably shouldn’t have mentioned my age, should I?”
“Relax. You don’t look a day over sixty.”
Sixty!
Heather burst into laughter and patted his knee. “I’m just kidding. You know you’re hot.”
Ethan groaned. “You’re evil.”
“And you’re tired. Why don’t you sleep for a bit. I signed the confidentiality agreement, so you don’t have to worry about me trying to sneak pictures of your fangs and calling all the news outlets while you rest.”
Smiling, he shook his head. “And what will you do while I sleep?”
“Find a permanent marker and draw a mustache and bushy eyebrows on your face.”
He laughed. “I really like you, Heather.”
3
He’s a romantic.
Bending, he retrieved what he hoped she would see as a romantic gesture. When he straightened, he held a newspaper in one hand and a stainless steel coffeepot in the other. He offered her a sheepish smile. “It seemed like a good idea at the time.”
Heather bit her lip. And he did think he saw a little Aww, how sweet enter her pretty brown eyes.
Stepping closer, he leaned against the doorframe opposite her. “I’m afraid I don’t really know how to do this.”
He heard her heartbeat pick up. “Do what?”
“Date. I haven’t tried to court a woman in about a century. I don’t know how to get things going and can’t ask Ed or he’ll never let me live it down.” Damned if he didn’t feel like a teenager with his first crush.
Her throat moved in a swallow. “You want to date me?”
“If dating you means spending lots of time with you, getting to know you, and exploring every inch of your delectable body as soon as you’re ready to take things further, then yes. I really want to date you.” He held up his goodies. “I remembered your neighbor with the newspaper analogy and . . .” He released a rueful chuckle. “As I said, I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t even like coffee. I just liked the idea of it and wanted to see you again.”
“Oh, Ethan. It’s perfect.”
4
He’s honest.
“You can learn a lot about a person from the way he or she faces death.”
A groan escaped her. “I don’t even want to know what you learned about me.” She had shaken in her boots during every skirmish.
“Are you kidding? I learned that you’re brave as hell. A true warrior who—”
She snorted. “I babbled like a maniac the night we met and tried to convince myself I was still asleep.”
“Hell, that’s better than screaming and running away or crapping your pants.”
Another burst of laughter escaped her.
5
He’s tall, dark, and handsome.
Ethan’s skin no longer bore ruby stains. His short black hair was wet and slicked back from a face Heather found even more handsome than she had anticipated. Heavy stubble dusted a strong jaw. His straight nose fit his face perfectly. Dark brows hovered above pretty brown eyes that no longer glowed with that peculiar iridescence.
The clothing that adorned his large form was fresh and clean, if a little rumpled. A tight black T-shirt clung to broad shoulders, a muscular chest, and biceps the size of freaking bowling balls. The man worked out. His black cargo pants hugged a narrow waist and thighs that also bulged with muscle.
When she finally managed to drag her gaze back up to his face, Heather felt her heart turn over at the boyish grin he sent her.

The Immortal Guardians protect the innocent in secret. Sometimes the secret gets out…
U.S. law enforcement agent Heather Lane can read minds. But not the future. The dream of battle and blood that recurs every night must be a fluke, some obscure terror from her own mind. What its significance might be, she can’t guess: an attack from seven psychotic vampires at once, only separated from nightmare by an eighth very different immortal. A handsome, brave man fighting at her side, a man she misses when she wakes.
Then the dream comes true. Heather is flung into a war between predators and protectors of humanity, the man from her dreams beside her again. Except now that she’s awake, she isn’t sure she can trust Ethan, or the shadow organization he represents. The U.S. military doesn’t trust either of them. But against an onslaught of evil like the one that’s coming, it will take everything they have just to survive…
