CUT by Lara Adrian

Community college professor Ethan Jones is living a lie. A precognitive agent known as Zephyr, Ethan is accustomed to subterfuge and deception, but when the Phoenix program is betrayed, he’s forced to cut all ties to the life he’s made and everyone in it—including smart, beautiful Tori Connors, the one woman who tempted the cold agent to let down his impenetrable facade.

A chance encounter years later and thousands of miles away thrusts the lovers together again, and this time Tori refuses to let Ethan deceive her. Although he is a dangerous enigma, Tori still desires him, and soon their inconvenient reunion becomes a temptation too strong to resist. With assassins closing in, Ethan and Tori embark on a desperate race for their lives—one that will put their tentative trust to the ultimate test.

RUN by Tina Folsom

Motorcycle mechanic Scott Thompson isn’t the laid-back loner he makes everyone believe. Three years ago, he was known as Ace, one of an elite group of agents in a top secret CIA program. However, the preternatural ability that made him invaluable to the government could now be his downfall, when his skill alerts him to a disaster bound to kill dozens of innocents unless he intervenes.

Journalist Phoebe Chadwick needs to persuade her editor to spare her from department cuts that threaten her job. When a mysterious stranger prevents an accident that would have killed her and many others, Phoebe goes after the story. But bad boy Scott is a reluctant hero unwilling to answer her questions, despite the sizzling chemistry that ignites between them. As his enemies hunt him down, Scott must decide if he can trust Phoebe—and how far he’s willing to go to keep her safe at his side.

A little about Tina:

Tina is currently developing a new super-cool series with New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Lara Adrian!

Tina Folsom is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author. She’s always been self-published and has found tremendous success with her paranormal series, Scanguards Vampires, Venice Vampyr, and Out of Olympus, selling more than 1.5 million copies of her 50 titles (which includes titles in German, French, and Spanish) in almost 4 years.

Tina writes about hot alpha heroes, bad boys, and kick-ass heroines. Fast-paced plots and steamy scenes are her specialty. She loves vampires and the concept of immortality, and now also writes contemporary romance and has launched the Eternal Bachelors Club series.

Tina is a one-women-enterprise. She writes constantly and translates her own books into German, her native language. Her books are available in e-book format, as paperbacks, as audio books, and in foreign languages.

Tina Folsom was born in Germany and has been living in English speaking countries for over 25 years, the last 13 of them in San Francisco, where she’s married to an American. Tina has always been a bit of a globe trotter: after living in Lausanne, Switzerland, she briefly worked on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean, then lived a year in Munich, before moving to London. There, she became an accountant. But after 8 years she decided to move overseas.

In New York she studied drama at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts then moved to Los Angeles a year later to pursue studies in screenwriting. In 2008 she wrote her first romance. She now has 18 novels in English and dozens in other languages.

  1. Thanks for the giveaway, I can’t wait to read it.

Have you ladies considered writing one title collaboratively instead of two titles in one book? Also, how many books do you plan to publish?

Thanks! twimom227 (at) gmail (dot) com.

    1. Hi, Jen!! 🙂

I can’t speak for Tina, but I am personally too much of a control freak to be able to truly collaborate on the same book, as in writing one story together, alternating in some way as a team. But I do love working with my author friends in the same story world sandbox, as Tina and I are doing with Phoenix Code and as I’m also doing with the Masters of Seduction series. It’s really fun to share the world-building, plotting, and to some extent, the characters.

As for how many books in the Phoenix Code series, we have an overarching story line that will carry us through at least five volumes, which would be ten stories since we’re doing two per book. And Tina and I have been having so much fun with the stories, we’re already talking about ways to spin the series beyond that point. 🙂

  2. Good morning!

Just wanted to say thank you to Kelly for the wonderful review and spotlight (<3) and good luck to everyone in the giveaway. Looking forward to reading your comments!

    XO, Lara

    1. As always Lara it is my pleasure!!! Love having you on the blog and loved meeting Ethan & Scott in Cut & Run!! Can’t wait for the next installment

  3. Way to go Lara and Tina, Congrats on Cut Run. It’s been added to my list, I can’t wait to read it, Love your books.

    1. For me, the first chapter is always the hardest to write. And so it was with my story, CUT. I think that’s because the pressure to get it right and really set the tone — and the hook — is so great when you begin a new story.

I always approach every Chapter 1 with a mix of excitement (yay, a new book! the possibilities are endless!!) and dread (this sucks! why doesn’t this sound as cool on paper as it did in my head?!). It was this way for me on my very first book, and it’s still that way 20+ books later.

      Great question, btw! 🙂

    2. For me it’s normally any chapter that involves fighting. Those are always the hardest ones to choreograph. But I love writing the sex scenes!

  4. I just wanted to say congratulations to Tina and Lara for their great release. From personally reading books from each author I can’t wait to see how this one will turn out:)

  5. Thanks for the opportunity!
    Love to read this one.
A question huh? Mmmmm, okay got one.
Lara, when will you reveal the titel of book 13 in the midnight breed series? .

  6. I love and read both authors. Their books fill the space comic books left when I grew up. Still love comic books but they aren’t long or involved enough. This new series sounds interesting and I can’t wait to get started. Thank you both.

  7. This book is on my TBR list at the very top! I have read many of Lara’s books and can’t wait to read this. A signed copy would be an excellent addition to my library! Two great authors collaborating on an excellent read!

    1. Yes, we’re planning quite a few books in this series, with an overarching plot (yep, there’s a bad guy … but we can’t tell you much yet).

  8. I can’t wait to read this :-). Both awesome writers so I know this will be great! Thank you both for the giveaway 🙂

  9. Good morning!! I’m reading y’all’s book on my kindle right now. Loving it!! I would love it even more if I could hold the actual book in my hands. Even if I don’t win the book, I’ll have enjoyed the story. Thank you!!

    1. Lara and I actually really love each others’ books, and when we met at the readers conference in Germany two and a half years ago, we became friends and realized we had a lot in common. Wanting to work together came quite naturally. It’s been a blast so far!

  10. Wow, Books 1 & 2 together! I don’t think I’ve ever come across a deal like this. I looked at my Amazon purchases first to see if I had bought Book 1 first…but I didn’t even see it listed. ? So this is an historical event! 🙂 Love your books, Adrian, Tina…and this collaboration is pretty neat. Thanks!

    1. Janice, there will always be two books published together, not separately. That’s how we planned it from the start.

  11. Congrats ladies on the release of Cut Run. It’s on my TRL. I’m looking forward to reading these stories. Thank you for the awesome giveaway opportunity.
    Carol L

  12. Love these authors and so glad they are writing together. I’m sure this book is even more amazing than usual…wait…is that possible?? How did you write together? Were you in the same place or did you have to send the manuscript back & forth between you both?

    1. We brainstormed a lot on skype and once or twice in person when we were at the same conferences together (Lara lives on the East Coast, I live on the West Coast), and then it was sending outlines etc. back and forth, giving each other feedback.
      It was a great process.

  13. I love Tina Folsom’s work and have read several of her series. I’ve been a fan and loyal reader for years. Recently in the past year or more, I’ve had the pleasure of reading some of Lara Adrian’s work. I’ve also been on both of their newsletter subscriptions too. Thank you to both of these women for their amazing talent! It would be an honor to win!!

    1. Thanks Kareen! Normally it’s the other way around: readers pick up Lara’s books first, and then they stumble over mine. 🙂

  14. I love Lara Adrian! I haven’t read Tina Folsom yet, but I am now 🙂
I love how both books/novellas sound and I can’t wait to read them

  15. Thank you for the chance to win. Do you find it easier to work alone or collaboratively. I know you have worked together before and have done spectacular, but do you often have the same ideas? Thanks again

    1. Lara and I think alike in many ways, but we do have our own totally separate projects which we will also continue. But we love this collaborative work too. And I think we created an interesting world for our hot CIA agents.

  16. I’m really excited for this new series, sounds fantastic. Lara and Tina are both amazing authors that I love. I was wondering, how many books are planned for the series?
    Thanks for the giveaway.

    fsteph55(at)yahoo(dot)com

    1. Each of us writes her own part of the story, but we do coordinate and brainstorm together, then fine tune the stories to make sure they fit together into the overall arc.

  17. I’m excited to try out a new series by Lara, who is one of my favorite authors. I haven’t read any of Tina’s books, yet, but this will give me a start.
    jmcgaugh (at) semo (dot) edu

  18. Thank you both so much for another wonderful series can’t wait for the next book. My question is something that you have probably already answered but I was wondering how did you come up with the idea of the book and do any of the characters remind you of anyone in your life or past life.

    1. We just love alpha men and wanted to do something different than vampires for a change. And those guys from Phoenix are pretty hot and pretty alpha! Wish I could say that I’d met one of them in real life …

  19. congrats Ladies on the new release! These sounds awesome 😉 Ummm… what is the one thing that you have to have/do while writing?

    Thanks for sharing! efender1(at)gmail

  20. Thank you for the giveaway. How did you two get together for this book? Did the publisher come up with the idea or did one of you think of it? Thanks.

    1. The books are self-published, so it’s all Lara and myself – we’re responsible for the idea and the execution.

  21. Thank you for this chance. I have not read any of Tina’s books but will certainly start. I have read probably most of Lara’s and love them. Cut and Run is on my list to read.

  22. Lara, I’m a huge fan! So with that said I’m super excited about Cut and Run!
Tina, this my first book of yours and excited to see how you tell the story!

  23. I am in the process of reading all the Scanguards books, my question is… is this series anything like them or did you see any similarities with them?

  24. I am in the process of reading all the Scanguards books, my question is for Miss Tina.. is this series anything like them or did you see any similarities with them?

  25. I am in the process of reading the Scanguards series so my question is for Miss Tina Folsom… is there any similarities to the Scanguards vampire romance books and if you used your knowledge of the paranormal from your previous books to use in this series?

  26. Love this, =) Is this a collaboration you´ll continue?
Can´t wait for my chance to read.
Thanks for the giveaway & Happy Wednesday!
