Yes, yes i totally agree about almost everything that is on there…do i think things will change in the publishing world??? I have high hopes for the indies but not a lot of hope for the established publishers because for them it’s their business model that causes most of these problems
Yes, I am. I want something unique, but not quite sure what. It’s like your hungry, but don’t know what you want to eat…LOL
I guess this comes from over reading maybe?????
I have my own list of reading pet peeves but I do agree with most of yours. Mine include – Love triangles, a series that should have been a stand alone, cheesy dialog, and characters that are TSTL (too stupid to live)
I agree with your list, here are a few more: when a character ‘hisses’ during sex, (maybe I’m not doing it right!) When EVERY little action is described – he went to his computer, he signed on, he pulled up his email, he put in his password, he checked his mail, etc….. edits are my biggest pet peeve. I can’t tell you how many times I have read lines like “he put his hand on his breast” wow, my m/f story just turned into a m/m!! I could go on but I don’t want to sound mean. I LOVE to read and I love finding new authors. The best way to do that is to take a chance on the freebies (some times you get what you pay for) and hope you get a winner. I have found some great books/authors this way – along with the comic relief which I get to delete after a few chapters.
Oh my gosh I have so many! I think I’m just getting cranky and picky in my old age lol. Here’s my biggest pet peeves: using the same word too many times – If I read about the “glares” any more in my current book I’m going to scream, too much effort trying to be funny just comes off as annoying, bad editing, too much moosh…yes there is some, and series where there is twice as many novellas as books or too many books going back to the same characters. If you’re going to do a series keep the characters going, don’t just fall back on your most popular characters to hold the series. Ok,rant over 🙂
Hey Kelly, I can’t see it. 🙁

Amen sister! Let’s not forget the virgin submissive, the uber rich Dom and the TSTL heroine, too. Yes, I’ve read them… *sigh*
