Books-n-Kisses is pleased to have Catherine Bybee on the blog today to chat about her newest book. Highland Shifter. Book number 4 in her MacCoinnich Time Traveler series.
Q1) Can you please share with us a little about yourself
I’m five nine, brunette with blue eyes…oh, that isn’t what you want to know? LOL – I’m a 40 something on her second career raising two sons in California with my husband of eighteen years.
Q2) Have you always wanted to be an author?
Yes and no. My day job for years was an ER nurse, which I loved. Life happens and things change and I was able to commit many hours into my passion of writing. I never thought I’d be an author until I wrote the words The End on my first manuscript.
Q3) Can you share with us your typical writing day. Is there anything you have to have while writing?
I start everyday on email…no shock there. I have to set a timer and remind myself to stay off line while I’m working on a new manuscript. Like many others, I’m distracted by the net. I’ll work till lunch, which might sound like a lot of time, but by the time I’m home from dropping of kids and the couple of days a week that I go to the gym, breaking at lunch might mean I’ve managed an hour of writing time. I’ll get in a few more before the kid pick up, and a couple in the evening if I’m lucky.
Q4) Most challenging or rewarding part of writing?
Currently it’s getting my butt in the chair and getting words on a page. I’m so very busy with promotion and other aspects of writing that I’m having a hard time finding balance. I’m sure I will find it again, it’s just taking more time than I’d like. The most rewarding part is hearing from satisfied readers.
Q5) Can you please tell us about your latest book(s)?
Highland Shifter is the 4th book in a time travel series, however, it is a stand-alone title that begins the next three books about the MacCoinnich’s. This book is a long time in coming for fans of the series, they’ve waited over a year between books.
Q6) How did you come with the idea for this story?
I wanted to see if I could take a teenage character from an earlier book that my readers fell in love with and make him the hero. I knew when I first introduced Simon as a teenager in the second book that he would have his own title. Highland Shifter is his story.
Q7) Can you share with us your current work in progress?
I’m working on Married by Monday, a second book in my Weekday Bride Series. This is a follow up contemporary romance to my New York TimesBestseller, Wife by Wednesday.
Q8) What is in your To Read Pile that you are dying to start or upcoming release you can’t wait for?
I have Dying Wish, the latest in Shannon K. Butcher’s series downloaded in my nook and I look forward to a few hours of read time.
Q11) Is there anything else you would like to add?
I’m happy to give away a digital copy of Highland Shifter to one of your guests today. Just answer one question… Kilts, Yea or Nay?
I love hearing from my readers and spend way too much time on facebook and twitter, so please follow the links and add me so we can chat. Thanks Books & Kisses for having me here today.

Honestly it depends on the setting. They just don't fit well in normal life w/in the States. They're great at weddings and special events. Now, in the United Kingdom – perfect :). Thank you for the giveaway.

Kilts only work for me if the man is smokin' hot or he is in full regalia for some sort of formal function. I have seen some pretty sketchy kilt wearing!
Oh, it looks like the kilts win! Yeah. Thanks evryone for coing by.
Yes for kilts, but only on the right person.
So far I ahven't come across a man who didn't look jawdropping in a kilt, maybe that is because only good looking men are brave enough to wear a "skirt" ;-D
Scottish men are the sexiest, and that yummy accent mmm 😀
