Books-n-Kisses is pleased to welcome Sara Trimble to the blog today. We are going to be talking about her new book Heart Over Mind.
Sara: Thanks so much for letting me visit with you today. I hope everyone enjoys learning about me and my new paranormal romance.
Q1) Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Sara: Sure. I’m twenty six and a mom of five. I’ve been writing since I was little and it took me years to work up the courage to decide to publish. I chose self publishing because I liked to have full control of what happens with my novel.
Q2) Have you always wanted to be an author?
Sara: I can’t remember a time I didn’t want to write. When I was in high school, I considered working for a newspaper or magazine. I was always good at writing stories but I feared the publishing world. It wasn’t until I was pregnant with my first child that I began working on a novel with the hopes of publishing.
Q3) Who are some of your favorite writers? Who do you feel has influenced your writing?
Sara: Susan Wiggs, Nora Roberts, Patricia Cornwell and Debbie Macomber are some of my all time favorites. Since I started working for Night Owl Reviews magazine, I’ve discovered new authors I may not have otherwise known about. Allison Brennan, Vicki Lewis Thompson, Paige Tyler, Desiree Holt, and Wendy Corsi Staub are just a few. Each of these women have an incredible talent and I strive to one day have as vast a book collection as them.
Q4) Can you tell us what a typical writing day for you is like.
Sara: Errands, screaming kids, house work, babysitting. This is my day. I don’t have a set routine as most authors do. I stay at home with my eighteen month old so I have to work around his schedule. Once I am able to get him occupied, I anchor myself to the computer and write in brief stents. My muse seems to be nocturnal. I do my best writing late at night, laying in bed with my kids, dog, and husband asleep.
Q5) Can you tell us a little about you book
Sara: sure. Its a paranormal romance which follows the life altering path of psychiatrist Nala Arpaia. Destined to being a recluse due to the overwhelming ability to read minds, Nala lives a boring routine life. Until one day, when her knight in tight blue jeans comes to whisk her off to a castle in a foreign land, where her long lost uncle awaits.
Nala arrives after multiple attacks from a man determined to kill her and steal her powers. While at Willowbank, Nala learns to overcome her insecurities, how to act on her desires, and makes friends for the first time. She also falls in love.
Convincing Gabriel to give their romance a chance proves to be more challenging than surviving the grasp of the most powerful, and evil, man in the world.
Q6) How did you come up with the idea for this story?
Sara: I wanted to write a story about the paranormal, but I couldn’t zero in on the one topic I wanted to use, so I delevoped a secret organization of fabled creatures, with mystical beings that protect the magical people of the world.
Q7) What is up next for you?
Sara: I’m venturing from romance to try my hand at a suspense/thriller novel about an FBI agent who gets called to the end of the Earth Louisiana when a severed arm is found, which belongs to a local teenage girl. There’s over fifteen missing within five years and its up to Gemma Davis to figure out who’s responsible before any more girls go missing.
Q8) What is the next book on your To Read Pile that you are dying to jump into?
Sara: I am currently reading the 1nightstand series. I’ve read three of these books and can’t wait to read the rest of them. They are seriously hot erotica books.
