SERIES #: (Ponderosa Ranch Romantic Comedies #2)
CHARACTERS: Austin Dugan & Bree Bracelyn
AUTHOR: Tawna Fenske
PUBLICATION DATE: October 26, 2018
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Bree Bracelyn doesn’t date cops. It’s a personal rule that quavers when Austin Dugan flashes his baby blues—and his badge—at Ponderosa Resort’s grand opening. Bree’s the family fixer, running the resort’s PR and her siblings’ lives with cheerful efficiency. But one thing in Bree’s past can’t ever be fixed, which is why she’s staying the hell away from Officer Hottie.
Austin’s heart tacks up a wanted poster with Bree’s name the instant he lays eyes on her. Okay, the no-cops rule is an obstacle, but not impossible for a guy ambitious enough to be a shoe-in as the next police chief. Besides, he knows Bree’s into him, whether they’re flirting over weird flatware or getting frisky in the front seat of his vintage Volvo.
As Bree and Austin bond over cupcakes and hot springs hookups, Bree knows it’s a matter of time before the skeletons in her closet topple into a messy heap on Austin’s squeaky-clean life. Is there hope for a happy ending, or will their love end up DOA?

REVIEW:
Sargeant Sexypants is book two of the Ponderosa Ranch Romantic Comedies. We get to follow Bree Bracelyn and her brothers as they come together after the death of their father to run the Ponderosa Resort.

Bree Bracelyn just wants to live her life, run her resort, get to know here brothers and never ever date a cop. That is until she meets Austin Dugan the town cop.
Austin is very interested in Bree but she plays hard ball with her hard and fast rule to never date a cop and protect her secret.

This was a a great fun read. I loved the spark and steam between Bree and Austin. I loved that Austin didn’t give up on her no matter how hard Bree tried to push him away.

I always enjoy reading Tawna’s books she does and excellent job of mixing humor, romance, sexy time and bring a tear to my eye. I can’t wait to read the next installment in this series.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Dance of the Hunter’s Moon by Amanda LeMay

Even though we’d taken on the rules of “human” society, behind closed doors and in our own environments, we were animals and lived by pack law.
Get to know Julianna!
Juliana Havarr has lived her short life feeling inferior to her Albuquerque pack mates. She was on a mission to prove her worth, though she had no idea what that mission entailed. She’d lost her beloved father in a challenge at a very young age, and because he shared a sakana bond with her mother, his death drove the only parent Jules had left into seclusion for a couple of years. Jules was left to bounce between her older sister’s home to the home of her best friend, Jessy. Jules has lived with the guilt of knowing she couldn’t have done anything to save her father, but wishing all the while that she had tried. When her mother returned, she seemed cold and distant, and Jules never spent one second alone with her. With her sister and Jessy’s family caring for her, she always felt loved, always felt protected. Even though Jules was a Breeder, one of the strongest of all wolves, a wolf whose genetic makeup would always ensure the survival of her race, no male ever approached her. She had resigned herself to a life on her own, without a male to call her mate. Everything changed when she met Sorin Campion. One look into his shining copper eyes, she knew in her heart, in her soul, this male was her sakana.

Dance Of The Hunter’s Moon
(Sakana Series Bk #3)

Amanda LeMay

Blurb:

Jules Havarr is a Breeder. For her, it’s a problem. Smaller than other wolves, she grew up feeling inferior to her pack mates. It didn’t help that males tended to avoid her, or looked down on her as though she were unworthy of attention. When a visiting Breeder extends an invitation to breed, Jules accepts his offer, even though it means leaving her home, friends, family, and pack behind.

Breeding at the Moon Dance is an honor she can’t refuse.

That is, until the moment she meets Sorin Campion, and a rare and ancient bond binds them together. She knows it in her heart, feels it deep in her soul. This male is her sakana, and she’s all in.

The only problem? The Breeder whose invitation she recently accepted is Sorin’s twin brother.

Sorin is a dead wolf walking. He’s suffered tragedy and heartbreak that left a lasting reminder of all he’s lost burned into his flesh. He’s lived the past few decades barely existing.

Can the sakana bond he shares with Jules awaken him from his misery, and bring purpose and hope back into his lonely life?

While exploring their love for one another, Sorin and Jules are tested by a dangerous ongoing threat to their pack. A dark and vengeful enemy may tear them, and their new found happiness, apart.

Excerpt

Surrounded by the rest of the pack as we waited for word from our Alpha, their heightened emotional state was almost overwhelming. With their anxiety battering at me from all angles, it made it difficult for me to deal with what was going on in my own head. The fear and apprehension the pack put off as a collective seemed to fill the air with a strange, bitter taste. It pressed against my skin, soaked through my pores, and rose up in the back of my throat like a sour tang I couldn’t wash away.

Standing in the hall, waiting for my mate, away from the others, I was finally able to catch my breath.

Sorin was on his way. He’d shut his emotions down. And that was okay. I might not have been able to share his emotions, but I felt his power…energy…whatever…and it lifted me, relieved the uncomfortable weight of feeling everything.

It had to be an Alpha thing—another effect of Sorin’s choice that threw me off balance.

The low, whining sound of a car engine came up the road, and with it came Hemming’s Alpha presence. Tipping my head to the side, I listened as the tires sloshed through the mud until it pulled up right next to the door Sorin, Taber, and I had entered through only two nights ago. Car doors opened and closed. Quiet voices murmured. The alarm pad at the inside of the door beeped as someone punched in the security code from the outside. The lock disengaged, then the door swung outward.

Cassia came in, her head bowed, her mother’s arm firmly around her shoulders as she led her shuffling daughter through the hall. I didn’t want to feel what came off Cassia, but knowing she’d been forced to witness what had been done to her friend, I was compelled to open up and focus on her anyway.

I flinched away at what hit me: guilt. Crushing, numbing, guilt.

Of course, she would grieve that way—she’d survived. Whether she carried physical wounds or not, the worst wounds of all were hidden inside, along with a thousand and one different forms of the question why.

I could relate to that. I’d watched my father fight for his life and die before my eyes. And even though no one held me down and made me watch, I didn’t look away.

Still…challenges were part of our culture.

Revenge murders were not.

And that was what Rina’s murder was—retaliation for her taking out one of their brothers. Why they didn’t kill Cassia, we might never know.

I took in a breath and sighed as Hemming came in from out of the darkness, Neeru at his side, both shifting to their human forms just inside the doorway. Seff’s shaggy brown wolf trotted through next, three other wolves behind him, all moving directly to their left and into the showers. No one spoke as they flipped the water on to rinse the mud from their arms and legs.

I pushed away from the wall. My gaze never left the door as I waited for my mate to appear. He was right there—outside the door—pacing.

Hemming’s muddy hand touched my forearm as he passed. “You and Sorin got fifteen minutes. Then I need you both in the dining room.”

I nodded.

Fifteen minutes? Fifteen minutes for what?

On silent paws, Sorin appeared. He slipped through the door and it closed quietly behind him. His big head swung around; his eyes landed on me. A dark brown mask framed his copper eyes and came to a point at the tip of his nose. The brown fur blended into buckwheat honey, the same shade as the hair on his head, as it traveled over his back to the tip of his tail. White belly, legs, lips, and jaws made up the rest of his fur, though, currently, most of his fur was splattered with mud.

Damn, my mate was enormous.

Thick legs, thick shoulders, thick mane around his neck. I wanted to fall to my knees and hug him like crazy, clamp my arms around him and never let go. The wolf in me wanted to roll around on the floor, lick him all over and submit to anything he needed, even if what he needed was to vent his anger by drawing blood. A shiver raced down my spine at the thought of his fangs piercing my flesh. Not that I was afraid. I was so far from fearing anything Sorin might ever do to me.

His head cocked to the side as he sniffed the air, then looked down the hall past me to Taber, and nodded.

“Seff,” Taber shouted. “Let’s go.”

“Just finishin’ up,” Seff called back.

The sound of running water splashing against bodies and wooden slats shut off abruptly, leaving only a quiet drip-drip-drip. Three males emerged, towels wrapped around their waists. Seff appeared from around the corner, tucking the ends of his towel in as he looked at Sorin. He paused for a second while he and Sorin locked eyes and held one of those silent convos for a second or two, before giving a short nod of his head. Seff’s brown eyes moved to me. His lips parted as if he were about to say something, but he didn’t. He didn’t smile, either. Without a word, he clenched his jaw and stared at the floor. I watched as he walked past me. Then he and Taber left the hall.

What the rogues had done to Rina, he’d seen it, but kept the lid on his own emotions nearly as well as Sorin did. I listened as the almost silent footsteps took them out of the room beyond, leaving me and Sorin alone.

Around the corner from where I stood, water came on. I moved into the hall of showers. Sorin stood there, the water raining down on his naked, human body. He’d braced his hands on the wall in front of him, his head bowed deep between his shoulder blades. I set his sweats on top of a stack of clean towels and took a step toward him.

“Sorin—”

“C’mere.”

I didn’t walk.

I ran.

I slammed my little body into his wall of muscle. His arms wrapped around me and pulled me under the hot shower as his mouth claimed mine. Soft lips and warm tongue and I couldn’t care less that I was getting soaked. I smoothed my hands up and down his back, feeling his muscles ripple beneath my fingertips.

He whispered against my lips as he grabbed the hem of my T-shirt and yanked it up over my head. “Need you. Need you now.”

About The Author
Indie author Amanda LeMay grew up on a small farm in Southern California reading every sci-fi book her dad passed on to her and watching every classic horror movie her mom shared with her. Her love for paranormal romance was an easy leap. Amanda published her first paranormal romance – full of dark sexy wolf-shifters called KISS OF THE WINTER MOON – in February 2018 – and her second book in the series, SHADOW OF THE SUMMER MOON went live in June 2018. Her wolf-shifters share a rare and special bond with their mates: the sakana bond, a rare and ancient bond that links their minds, bodies, and souls.
Amanda still lives in Southern California with her own Alpha-male husband and two grumpy cats and dreams of living on the beach in Texas. When she isn’t writing, or thinking about writing, (or plotting, or characters, or dialogue, or world building), she’s probably working on any number of crafts, sewing, gardening, or lost in another authors’ wonderful dream world. She plots most of her novels while walking, or driving, or while on long Texas beach vacations sitting outside listening to the waves. She loves reading paranormal romance, fantasy romance, sci-fi romance, contemporary romance…well, just romance in general.

A voice
drawled, “I’m not sure there’s room for two gunslingers in this town.”
Josh
slowly raised his head. Doc Holliday, aka Trex, stood at the other end of the
hall. Black hat, dark three-piece suit, a gun at his side, and a delicate
handkerchief tinged with blood that was the clue to the character—Holliday had
died of TB. The western garb fit perfectly on that tall, athletic body. The
real Holliday never looked so good. Josh wanted to drool.
Josh
smiled, but Trex didn’t break character, his gaze resting steady and dangerous
on Josh’s face. Okay, two could play. Josh scowled like a man who gazed into
the sun all day and chewed the stump of cigar in his mouth. He rested a hand on
his toy six-shooter. “You want to try me?” The words were out. What did I just
say?
Trex/Holliday
sauntered toward him, spurs jingling. He came face-to-face with Josh and
cracked a hint of a smile. “Show me what you got.”
He’d
called his bluff. “Uh, oh, I….”
Trex
reached up and slowly took the unlit stogy from Josh’s teeth. He slipped a hand
around Josh’s neck and—holy crap!—he pressed a hot mouth over Josh’s lips with
a hint of warm tongue. Their hats bumped and Josh’s fell backward. He grabbed
for it, their teeth knocked together, their noses squashed, and Trex pulled
back, laughing. “I guess we know that cowboys didn’t spontaneously seduce each
other. Too much shit to get in the way.”
Josh knew
his eyes were wide, and he was having trouble keeping his breath even. “Doing a
little cowboy experimentation, are we?” He reached down, grabbed his hat from
the floor, and put it back on.
Trex waved
a hand down Josh’s body. “Hey, you come in oozing cowboy charisma, you gotta
expect some admiration.”

CHARACTERS: Ian & Verita

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
In this thrilling new Night Rebel series set in New York Times bestselling author Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress world, sexy and ruthless vampire Ian finally meets his match!
The Rule Breaker
Master vampire Ian is unrepentant, shameless…and every shade of wicked. He’s made one too many enemies in his two centuries of existence, including Dagon, a demon who now lays claim to his soul. Ian’s only chance to escape Dagon is to join forces with a Law Guardian, but he’s never been able to abide by the rules for long.
The Law Maker
Veritas’ normal role is police, judge and jury to reprobates like Ian. But she has her own ax to grind with Dagon, so if she can use Ian as bait…well, all’s fair in law and war. As they scour supernatural hotspots to perfect their trap, Veritas soon realizes Ian’s devil-may-care, roguish image hides something much more powerful. And Ian discovers that Veritas has shocking secrets of her own. As they’re drawn to each other with a passion as intense as their peril, either love or justice will prevail. But each will have devastating consequences

REVIEW:
FINALLY Ian’s story!!!

Shades of Wicked pick up where we left off in Into the Fire with Ian being branded by Dagon and only has a short period of time before he has to give his life as he knows it up. So what does Ian do? Well of course he goes and whores it up, pushes his friends and family away and wait for the end.

Veritas knows the key to ridding the world of Dagon involves Ian. But she knows that Ian is not going to be easy to convince to help her, he is not really the “here let me help you kind”. But she has to try!!!

We have waited years and years for this day!!! From the first time we were introduced to Ian I was in love!! I know there had to be so much more this bad boy vampire. And boy was I right!! I don’t want to write to much because I am afraid I will give away some spoilers and you all know that I try to be spoiler free!!

As I read the last sentence of this book I was tempted to write to Ms. Frost to find out how progress on book 2 is going. But I will be a good reader and try to patiently wait for more Ian & Verita!!! I think the waiting might kill me…..

Favorite line: “I saw the real you, and every time I did, I knew you were mine.”

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Laird Callum MacLean vowed to marry Maggie MacDonnell. But when his father’s supposed suicide makes him Laird of a clan, he’s too busy unmasking his father’s killer to bring her into his dangerous new home.

Maggie’s home isn’t any safer, so she does what any resourceful Highland lass would do. She escapes―and finds herself toe-to-toe with Callum, who’s determined to fulfill his promise. Maggie can’t bring herself to trust him with her heart again. But with a traitor still at large, they must rely on each other in every way, or their clans―and their love―will be destroyed.

REVIEW:
I love this series. This series alone has turned me into a fan of Scottish romance. The men in the series are all brothers from different lands but they grew up together and consider themselves brothers. They would do anything for each other. And this time the story belongs to Callum.

Callum was not only betrothed but in love with Maggie. But he thinks he has to take care of family business before he can have Maggie has his own, that is until she is in trouble. Now Callum and his brothers are off to save Maggie. But Maggie is a strong woman who is independent and resourceful. And she knows she doesn’t need saving but she may need a little help out of her situation.

This is the third in the series and can really be read as a stand alone but I wouldn’t suggest it. You really should read them in order so you understand the connection of the “brothers”.

Then there’s a bard without a song in her heart but with a very adorable and fuzzy tail, an assassin who fears not the night but is terrified of chickens, and a mighty fighter more frightened of her sword than of her chain-mail bikini. This journey will lead to sinister umlauts, a trash-talking goat, the Dread Necromancer Steve, and a strange and wondrous journey to the most peculiar “happily ever after” that ever once-upon-a-timed.

REVIEW:
A Farm Boy, a Crazy Goat, a Warrior, a Bard, a Dark Lord, a Rogue and a Witch…. It sounds like the beginning of a bad joke right? But it’s not. It is the start of a grand adventure of a ragtag team of unlikely heroes. This team of misfits will face great obstacles, death defying feats, love and the value of thumbs!!!

This book was a riot!! A riot of laughter, puns and gasps!! I honestly don’t know how Luke Daniels got through narrating this book. I would have been laughing to much or thinking “you want me to say what?”. But as always Luke did an amazing job of bring the characters to life. I really enjoy listening to Luke Daniels read me a story. Already looking forward to the next installment from Pell.
