AUTHOR: Molly Harper

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Caleb Graham is a werewolf by nature, a tracker by profession. He uses his “extra gifts” to find people, and not always in the most legal or ethical manner. He doesn’t care what they’ve done, or who wants them found, as long as his considerable fee is paid. He likes his life simple and uncomplicated.

Anna Moder, former physician to Caleb’s pack, happens across Caleb during a particularly violent “negotiation” that has left him bloodied and unconscious. She helps him, despite the fact that he’s cost her a car, so he insists that she stay with him on the road for a while. As they grow closer, Anna looks past the gruff exterior and and the questionable job to thoroughly decent werewolf underneath.

Anna – who is careful to edit her involvement with Caleb’s pack from their conversations – doesn’t talk about why a nice girl wants to live in the middle of frozen nowhere, but she’s obviously on the run from something. When Anna’s past collides with Caleb’s current assignment from one of his sleazier contacts, Caleb finally has to make a choice—protect his job…or his potential mate?

KELLY’S REVIEW:
4.5 HEARTS Anna Moder is a girl on the run. Running from a past that always seems to catch up with her. If she could just catch a break. Finally be able to settle down, set roots and not live in fear. But that is not going to happen, not when her ex is still out there looking for her.

Caleb is a man who does his job well, very well. As a bounty hunter he really doesn’t care why or who he is hunting as long as there is a pay check at the end of the job.

But what happens when you find out your latest assignment might be your mate? Guess you will have to read to find out.

Love, love, love everything that Molly Harper writes. I am really hoping that this is not the last book in the Naked Werewolf series. I really hope that we will get to visit the pack again really really soon.

KIMBERLY’S REVIEW:
4 HEARTS This is the first I have ever read Molly Harper and I have to say she actually made me chuckle out loud a couple of times. This is the third in a series but trust me you do not need to read the other books at all. Yes there are a couple of lines that make you realize you missed other characters backstory but it is not something that makes a difference to this story.

Anna is a strong and yet insecure woman. She has overcome a lot and yet her past is always right there in front of her with everything she does. She has been running a long time and really is just plain tired. But you can feel her strength through the pages and you just want to cheer her on. Caleb is an interesting character as well. While he was not the alpha wolf I expected him to be written as I was pleasantly surprised to find him just a “regular” werewolf….is there such a thing? He wasn’t alpha, he wasn’t beta, he was just himself. And I liked that about him. Is he my newest “book boyfriend”? Nope. But he is the type of guy you want to be friends with and would love to set your best friend up with.

This might be my first Harper book but it will not be my last. Her writing is fun and entertaining.

Jennifer Fusco host of BlogTalkRadio is interviewing Molly Harper

ROTA LOGO

Today, 12/20/13, at 11am EST, Molly will be on air with Jennifer talking about her books and romance.  Check out the Event on the Authors On The Air site, and join in for this awesome Event.

To start things off, Romance on the Air is proud to be hosting the wonderful Molly Harper 12/20/13, and Books-n-Kisses and LITERAL ADDICTION are happy to be helping to spread the word.

When Molly Harper was eight years old, she set up a “writing office” in her parents’ living room, complete with an old manual typewriter and a toy phone. And she (very slowly) pecked out the story of her third-grade class taking a trip around the world and losing a kid in each city. She had a dark sense of humor even then.

When Molly was considerably older, she headed for Western Kentucky University, where she majored in print journalism. After graduation, she landed a job with The Paducah Sun and married her high school sweetheart, David, a local police officer. After six years at the newspaper, Molly took a more family-friendly secretarial position at a local church office.

Her husband worked nights and Molly was alone with their small child in the “The Apartment of Lost Souls.” A big fan of vampire movies and TV shows, she decided to write a vampire romance novel. Molly created Jane Jameson, a bit of an accidental loser. Jane is single, almost 30, and a librarian working in Half-Moon Hollow, Ky. She has become a permanent fixture on her Mama’s prayer list. And despite the fact that she’s pretty good at her job, she just got canned so her boss could replace her with someone who occasionally starts workplace fires. Jane drowns her sorrows at the local faux nostalgia-themed sports bar. On her way home, she’s mistaken for a deer and shot by a drunk hunter. And then she wakes up as a vampire. The three-book JANE JAMESON series–which includes Nice Girls Don’t Have Fangs, Nice Girls Don’t Date Dead Men and Nice Girls Don’t Live Forever—was released in 2009.  A fourth and final installment, Nice Girls Don’t Bite Their Neighbors, was released in 2012.

Molly continues stories in the Jane Jameson universe through her HALF-MOON HOLLOW series, Driving Mr. Dead, The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires, Undead Sublet, and A Witch’s Handbook of Kisses and Curses.  Undead Sublet is a short story in The Undead in My Bed anthology.  A Witch’s Handbook of Kisses and Curses was released in June 2013.

A special FREE audio holiday novella, I’m Dreaming of an Undead Christmas is available now from Audible (so be sure to get your copy today!).

Molly has been updating her popular NAKED WEREWOLF romance series in 2013. How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf was originally released in February 2011, quickly followed by The Art of Seducing a Naked Werewolf. A third installment, How to Run With a Naked Werewolf, will be released on 12/31/13.

Molly also launched her first-ever contemporary romance series, BLUEGRASS, with My Bluegrass Baby in December 2012.  Rhythm and Bluegrass was subsequently released in October 2013.

Molly’s books are published by Pocket Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster. They are available in print, as e-books and audio books at major book stores and on Amazon. Molly is a native of Kentucky. She lives in Paducah with her husband and children.

You can keep up with Molly online at her Website, on Facebook, on Twitter, and on GoodReads.

For those of you new to Molly’s work, we highly suggest that you check out her entire backlist, but for today, we’re going to spotlight her NAKED WEREWOLF series and its upcoming release.

Northern Exposure

Even in Grundy, Alaska, it’s unusual to find a naked guy with a bear trap clamped to his ankle on your porch. But when said guy turns into a wolf, recent southern transplant Mo Wenstein has no difficulty identifying the problem. Her surly neighbor Cooper Graham, who has been openly critical of Mo’s ability to adapt to life in Alaska, has trouble of his own. Werewolf trouble.

For Cooper, an Alpha in self-imposed exile from his dysfunctional pack, it’s love at first sniff when it comes to Mo. But Cooper has an even more pressing concern on his mind. Several people around Grundy have been the victims of wolf attacks, and since Cooper has no memory of what he gets up to while in werewolf form, he’s worried that he might be the violent canine in question.

If a wolf cries wolf, it makes sense to listen, yet Mo is convinced that Cooper is not the culprit. Except if he’s not responsible, then who is? And when a werewolf falls head over haunches in love with you, what are you supposed to do anyway? The rules of dating just got a whole lot more complicated. . .

Generations of werewolves have been secretly residing in a secluded valley a stone’s throw from Grundy, Alaska. So when a snooping Outsider comes to Grundy to investigate rumors of lycanthropic shenanigans in the area, the valley’s pack alpha, Maggie Graham, resolves to chase him away, even if doing so takes a quick bite on the butt.

What a pity that researcher Nick Thatcher turns out to be so drool-worthy, and that his kisses make Maggie want to sit up and beg. Maggie just can’t seem to convince Nick to leave . . . and even worse, she can’t convince herself to stay away from him. Cross-species dating is problem enough for a harried alpha female, but on top of that, a rival group of werewolves is trying to move into the valley. With interpack war threatening, Maggie can’t afford to be distracted.

Combining romance and a career can be tough for anyone; for a werewolf in love with a human, it may be disastrous. . . .

Research for the Night Stalkers series

There are stories inside an author’s comfort zone and outside. There are stories that we could tell from the world we know. And then there are the stories we need to tell even though we don’t know the world. When that happens, when the author doesn’t have that direct knowledge, I think there are three real options open to them:

  1. To “wave their hands.” I’ve read authors who can do this magnificently. Many of these writers land in the fantasy world. “I’m telling you a military story, but I’m setting it in an elfen realm so that I can work with the emotions, not the hard facts of reality.” These can be future set, alternate reality, or a myriad of other paths as well.
  2. Down the middle. These authors will do sufficient research to make it sound real, but again, there is a certain amount of distraction of the reader with other events rather than going down into the details. This allows them to come at the story and worry less about the details of the world.
  3. I always choose the third path, maximum realism. I do everything I can to make the background information as real and accurate as possible. In Take Over at Midnight there is a scene where they crash land on an oil rig. I spent days studying the different models located in the Gulf of Mexico, how their helipads were positioned, how high were they out of the water while actually working a site, and so on.

Setting out to write a story in this third style has more challenges than finding out the information; the Internet has solved many of those issues. Reading many books and doing the occasional personal interview plugs the holes. Granted, there is the challenge for a writer to not get lost in the research and forget that their job is actually to do the writing. I admit, I have occasionally looked up and realized I’ve lost a day or more, but that doesn’t happen very often, for it is the storytelling I love and not the research.

The real challenge of research for me? Figuring out when not to use it. I have ten times the detail that I put in the books. I’ve read Black Hawk service manuals that have allowed me to add a dozen paragraphs over four novels. I have also read a single article and watched two three-minute videos in order to install the pivotal ADAS camera technology in my earlier book, Wait Until Dark, the third Night Stalkers novel that alters the very course of the love story.

So, perhaps the oddest bit of research I do is studying just how much research I can do without and still make the story feel real.

Kelly reviews Size Matters by Robyn Peterman

size mattersTITLE: Size Matters
SERIES #: Handcuffs & Happily Ever After #2
CHARACTERS: Mitch & Kristy
AUTHOR: Robyn Peterman
PUBLICATION DATE: December 19, 2013
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
A few hard truths…Don’t bet on Hasselhoff, Bigfoot might actually exist, and searching for the impossible may lead you to your heart’s desire…

It’s a big fat hairy deal when I lose yet another bet to my best friend, Rena. Not only do I end up attending Bigfoot meetings with her kooky Aunt Phyllis, I find myself traveling with a band of reality TV, Sasquatch-hunting nut-jobs! Not to mention a suspiciously shady film crew. As if those little nuggets weren’t enough to send me on the express-train to Crazytown…I stupidly swore off men!

Clearly all this would mess up any gal’s social life, but the worst part of the story? The minute I send my libido on vacation, I meet Mitch. Yep, Mitch, the sexiest cop ev-ah. The hottest, best kissing, finest tushied, SINGLE guy I’ve ever laid eyes on. I’d rather be hot on his trail than anything that involves the word Big or Foot. But sometimes what you’re hunting for has been right in front of you all along

REVIEW:
This is was fun read. We met Kristy briefly in “How Hard Can It Be” (which was super funny and you really should read) and her best gal pal Rena. But In Size Matters we find out the Kristy has been extremely unlucky in love. Like beyond unlucky in love. Oh and Kristy really should never beat on anything. She is guaranteed to lose. Hence the reason Kristy finds herself driving Aunt Moon-Unit (Yes Moon-Unit) to a month worth of Bigfoot believer meetings. But that is only the start of Kristy’s trouble.
Kristy takes yet another beat from her best pal. What is the bet? That she won’t fall head over heels for Jack’s (who is Rena’s boyfriend)best friend and new partner. Kristy knows this a beat that she can’t lose. No way, no how, not ever going to happen. You see Kristy has sworn off dating cops.
But then women’s shelter she runs is broken into and she comes face to face with the most amazing man she has ever seen. From that moment on things don’t go according to plan. Oh heck the completely and udderly blow up in Kristy’s face.

I love Robyn’s writing style. She is so funny. Her characters are fun and have some of the most colorful language I have ever read. I often wonder where the heck Robyn grow up at to learn such language. If you have not given Robyn’s books a try you really should. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.

Top Ten Things to Look for in a Dom

Let me start off by saying that I truly, deeply admire you for stepping outside of your comfort zone and exploring your needs and sexuality. Kudos to you for having the strength to take that first step. 🙂  I talk with readers everyday who dream of finding a Dom like the ones I write about- you know, hot, hung, and sexual psychics like Ivan from ‘Ivan’s Captive Submissive’. That man could sell a ketchup Popsicle to a woman wearing white loves. Anyways, they potential submissives have these wonderful romantic fantasies about finding him and everything clicking into place, the planets going into alignment, and rainbows and firecrackers shooting from their ass in glee. Sadly, this isn’t always what happens. Outside the pages of a book everyone, even Doms, are human and have human eccentricities and failings that make us wonderful…and not so wonderful.

Before you start chatting with a stranger on Fetlife or attend your first local BDSM meet and greet it’s good to keep a few things in mind about your potential partner before you hand them the key to your heart.

Things to Look For

1)  These apply to any potential suitor you meet, but they are so important that I have to include them here. You want a man with a job, a home, and a car. Shallow? Not really. If he can’t provide for himself he probably can’t provide for you either.

2) He is patient. Things won’t always go well inside and outside of the dungeon and you don’t want a man who loses his shit while your bound up and unable to defend yourself.

3) Maturity. This kinda ties in with number two. Mature men are just that, men, not little boys still trying to find their way in the world. This is not to say that every man that is fifty is going to be mature and every man who is twenty will be immature, but you want a Dom who has either had a bit of experience or is willing to learn along with you from an experienced Dom. There are tons of BDSM groups out there that will help you and your partner learn the ropes…get it…learn the ropes…-snork-

4) He loves you AND your life. A good Dom will never, ever, try to isolate you from the ones you love. While he may not adore your family the way you do, he will never try to remove them from your life and prevent contact. If he ever says ‘If you loved me you wouldn’t talk to xxx anymore’ run for the hills.

5) He is aware of the human body and its limitations. While most of us would love to be as limber as a Russian ballerina, we just aren’t. Your Dom should know about the dangers of restraints and how much damage can be done by tying or restraining you in certain positions for any amount of time.

6) He wants you inside and outside of the dungeon. Unless being a fuck toy is what you’re looking for make sure you see each other in the real world. Can you have dinner with him and not just sit and stare at your plate because your vegetables are more interesting to have a conversation with than he is? It’s easy to get caught up in the rush of a new relationship, but you can only have sex for so long before you have to talk.

7) He will never make you do things you don’t want to do. Ok, I’m not talking about pushing your limits or sticking his pinky in your butt when you said you didn’t think you liked anal sex. I’m talking about making you do things against your will that you don’t want to do. It is ok if sometimes you just don’t want to have sex or play in the dungeon. While in romance books the hero would pull some magical sexual elixir out of his ass and change your mind, in the real world you get sick, you get tired, and sometimes you just want to cuddle and be held. If he forces you to have sex and you say no and safeword out, that is rape.

8) He’ll be ok about taking things slow and getting to know each other before strapping you to the St. Andrew’s Cross. Just because you don’t drop to your knees and blow him at your first opportunity doesn’t make you a bad sub, it makes him an asshole. He should be interested in you, not just what you can do for him as a fuck toy. Even if you just want to be his fuck toy, make sure he sees you as a human being. One of the main personality traits in serial killers is that they don’t view people as people, but as objects. Don’t let anyone make you an object.

9) He has a sense of humor. Seriously, this is important. So much of life is filled with ‘you’re either going to laugh or cry’ moments and you want a man with you that is going to make you laugh. Fifty years down the road when gravity has taken that fine ass south a bit you’ll be glad you have a Dom who can still make you giggle.

10) Educated. I’m not saying that he has to hold a Masters degree, but you want a man who you can hold a conversation with. Intelligence is sexy and in BDSM essential. You want a Dom who is smart enough to push you when you need to be pushed, wise enough to back off and cuddle you when you need a cuddle, and intelligent enough to not bore you to tears when he isn’t fucking you. 😉

I hope this list has helped you a bit in your efforts to find a Dom. At the end of the day it’s just you and the man on the other side of the whip so make sure it is someone worthy of your submission. You are special, beautiful, and something to be cherished. You deserve a man who treats you as such. Now, let’s take a look at what the beauty of your submission means to a man who truly values his submissive.

Unaware of Ivan’s true feelings, Gia fights her growing emotional attachment to him. All she wants is to settle down with a nice Dom in the United States, continue her career, and live a normal life. However, Ivan sets a plan into motion that will push Gia to all of her limits and take her on a global journey of self-discovery, extreme pleasure, and love.

Warning: Contains Erotic Spanking, Subspace, f/f situations, a devastatingly sexy Dom who knows what he wants, and a submissive who just might be ready to give him what he needs.

EXCERPT from ‘Ivan’s Captive Submissive’

Making a low, hungry growl, Ivan came onto the bed and grabbed her ankle, hauling her towards him as if she weighed no more than the pillows surrounding her. Without preamble, he shoved her legs open, his broad shoulders stretching her wide. The soft, warm brush of his lips against her inner thigh had her moaning softly and she abandoned herself to his touch, letting him do whatever he wanted to her. It wasn’t like she had much of a choice…or that’s what she told herself when guilt at her lack of resistance tried to intrude on the moment. She ground her pussy against his mouth and he nipped her labia hard enough to hurt.

He smiled at her pained moan and looked up at her. “You have such a beautiful cunt. My cunt.”

He nuzzled the mound of her pubic bone, rubbing the stubble of his chin against her in an altogether pleasurable manner. Her ass burned and she shifted, trying to get more comfortable. Making a displeased sound he slapped her thigh.

“Be still.”

She froze. Then, unable to help herself, she arched as his mouth sealed on her swollen sex. He could hold her pussy in his mouth all at once, and his touch felt sinfully good. He didn’t tease or nibble, instead, he ate her with an aggression that curled her toes. He began to suckle that tender bundle of nerves, driving her crazy. She moaned and thrashed beneath his onslaught, unable to control her own body. His licks gentled, becoming soothing strokes that only served to drive her higher.

“Master, please, you feel so good. May I come?”

He didn’t lift his mouth from her sex, only shook his head. She groaned in frustration and curled her legs around his shoulders, drawing him closer. Setting her heels against his back, she began to rock her pelvis against his greedy mouth, moaning with abandon as he began to press his thick tongue into her sheath. Her pussy clamped down on him, and when he pulled away, she moaned in distress.

Sitting back on the bed, he began to unbuckle his pants, then paused and looked at her where she was writhing against the comforter, her legs scissoring in an effort to alleviate the muscle-clenching need he’d unleashed in her. Damn, give the man five minutes eating her pussy, and she was ready to do anything and everything he wanted. Feeling wanton, she crawled across the bed towards him and sat back on her heels with her thighs spread, giving him an unimpeded view of her wet sex.

“How may I serve you, Master?”

He smiled, a slight dimple deepening next to his mouth that she hadn’t seen before. “I want you to ride me, dorogaya.”

Sliding out of his pants, he turned his hip so she couldn’t get a good view of his cock.

Bastard.

“Close your eyes and do not open them until you are about to come.”

Confused, she did as he asked, feeling very vulnerable without her sight to aid her. A moment later the bed shifted, and with a gentle touch, he pulled her along with him until the crisp hair of his thighs tickled against her. His warm scent enveloped her and she yearned to feel his body pinning hers to the bed.

“Lift your leg.”

She did as he commanded and he grasped her hips, moving her onto his lap as easily as a doll. A moment later, she heard the foil of a condom wrapper tear. When he pulled her closer the hard, very thick length of him rubbed against her slit and belly.

Dear God, the man was hung like a bull, too.

“Grasp my cock and put it inside of you, slowly. You have no choice. I am your Master and you will obey me.”

She groaned and reached between them, her senses heightened by her lack of sight. The smooth, spongy tip of his dick sheathed in latex met her questing fingertips and he tensed beneath her, already hard muscle turning to steel. She’d love to look at him right now, to see his expression and know if she was pleasing him. As messed up as it was, she wanted to make him feel good.

Lifting herself slightly, she rubbed the thick head of his erection back and forth through her slit, lubricating him and driving both of them crazy. He had much better patience than she did, because not once did he try to shove into her or jerk her down on him. Instead, he let her play and tease until she was panting.

Unfulfilled need made her aggressive, wanting him in deep right now. She placed the head of his cock against her sheath and prepared to slam herself down on him. He was thick, very thick, and it would hurt, but, fuck, she needed him to fill her. To give her an anchor to hold onto as she floated in the dark depths of her mind.

Before she could sheathe him, he gripped her hips and held her immobile, poised over his body.

Holy shit, he was strong.

Ever so slowly he lowered her until the fat mushroom cap of the head of his cock rubbed just inside of her entrance. The sensation almost had her eyes rolling back her head and she gasped. With a pleased rumble he lowered her a little more, now almost halfway inside of her. Then he pulled almost all the way back out and she groaned in frustration.

“Beg for it, my beautiful girl.”

“Oh God, Master, please fuck me. Please fill me up with your cock, ease the ache that you’ve left in my body. I want to come with you inside of me, I want to feel you all over me, surrounding me. I’ve been good, please.” She squeezed down her vaginal muscles, saying a thank you to kegel exercises, and delighted in his growl. “I want to milk that big dick of yours while you come inside of me.”

She braced her hands on his chest and he removed his hands from her hips. “You please me very much, my Gia. Show me the beauty of your willing submission.”

About the Author

Ann is Queen of the Castle to her wonderful husband and three sons in the mountains of   West Virginia. In her past lives she’s been an Import Broker, a Communications Specialist,   a US Navy Civilian Contractor, a Bartender/Waitress, and an actor at the Michigan   Renaissance Festival. She also spent a summer touring with the Grateful Dead-though she   will deny to her children that it ever happened.

From a young age she’s been fascinated by myths and fairytales, and the romance that   often  was the center of the story. As Ann grew older and her hormones kicked in, she   discovered trashy romance novels. Great at first, but she soon grew tired of the endless   stories with a big wonderful emotional buildup to really short and crappy sex. Never a big fan of purple prose, throbbing spears of fleshy pleasure and wet honey pots make her giggle, she sought out books that gave the sex scenes in the story just as much detail and plot as everything else-without using cringe worthy euphemisms. This led her to the wonderful world of Erotic Romance, and she’s never looked back.

Now Ann spends her days trying to tune out cartoons playing in the background to get into her ‘sexy space’ and has learned to type one handed while soothing a cranky baby.

Kimberly reviews The Perfect Match by Kristan Higgins

Perfect MatchTITLE: The Perfect Match
SERIES #: Blue Heron #2
CHARACTERS: Honor & Tom
AUTHOR: Kristan Higgins
PUBLICATION DATE: 10/29/13
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
What if the perfect match is a perfect surprise?

Honor Holland has just been unceremoniously rejected by her lifelong crush. And now—a mere three weeks later—Mr. Perfect is engaged to her best friend. But resilient, reliable Honor is going to pick herself up, dust herself off and get back out there… or she would if dating in Manningsport, New York, population 715, wasn’t easier said than done.

Charming, handsome British professor Tom Barlow just wants to do right by his unofficial stepson, Charlie, but his visa is about to expire. Now Tom must either get a green card or leave the States—and leave Charlie behind.

In a moment of impulsiveness, Honor agrees to help Tom with a marriage of convenience—and make her ex jealous in the process. But juggling a fiancé, hiding out from her former best friend and managing her job at the family vineyard isn’t easy. And as sparks start to fly between Honor and Tom, they might discover that their pretend relationship is far too perfect to be anything but true love….

REVIEW:
3.75 Hearts I enjoyed this book. Maybe not as much as Higgin’s other books but it is still an enjoyable read. There is just something a little off about this story and I don’t exactly know what it is. The characters really do not have any chemistry which is a shame.

I liked Honor when she was a background player in the first in the series so I expected to like her in this one and I did but I just didn’t love her. Or Tom really. I think the beginning of the book was a little slow and then the ending seemed to zoom by.

Now that all being said there is no such thing as a bag book by Higgins. She is one of the best in the contemporary romance genre so even a book that isn’t perfect is still great and this one is a good story. I just wouldn’t read it and not give her other books a try.

REVIEW:
4.5 HEARTS This Time Next Year: A snowing road, a deer and a snow bank. Not the best way to spend your last Christmas in the US with your Gran. But being saved by a man on horseback was never in the plans. This was a good story. Although I was extremely upset with Brenna for leaving.

A Rare Gift: This is my second time reading this story and I loved it just as much as I did the first time. Wyatt & Calliope are so cute together. I love the she pushes so much. If you are a fan of Jaci’s you will love this story. Also this is #2 in the Kent Brothers trilogy.

It’s Not Christmas Without You: I enjoyed this story. Austin & Carrie are great. I loved that Austin didn’t give up on what he wants and he wants Carrie. But when he realizes that Carrie doesn’t need him like he needs her, he does what he never thought he would do. He walks away. This is book #1 in the Holloway Series

Mistletoe and Margaritas: I think this was my favorite story of the four. It made my heartbreak, it made me cry and it made me so happy. Justin & Claire are so good together. I really would love for Shannon to write a follow up story on these two. I want to know how the future turns out for them.

Amazon | Barnes & Noble  IndieBound

December 17, 2013; Grand Central Publishing Mass Market; $8.00; 978-1-4555-2697-0

Reaver is an angel with a past, a record, and a less-than-heavenly attitude. Powerful enough to fight alongside the fiercest battle angels-and crazy enough to risk his wings on a one-way mission to hell-he’s agreed to go where no angel has ever gone before . . . to steal the most seductive and dangerous prize of Satan himself.

Harvester is one of the Fallen, a once-heroic angel who sacrificed her wings to work as an undercover agent in hell. But now her cover has been blown, and she’s doomed to an eternity of agonizing torture. Even if Reaver can snatch her away from Satan’s lair, even if they can fight their way out of the underworld’s darkest depths, there is one thing Harvester can never escape-her newfound thirst for an angel’s blood. . .

Don’t miss Kelly’s review of Reaver HERE

Excerpt:

“R-Reaver?”

Reaver held Harvester’s frail body tight against his as he navigated the final steps of a winding ledge that dropped them into a world of weird. “It’s me. It’s okay. We’re safe.”

Relatively safe, anyway. Relative meaning that they weren’t dead. Yet. He just hoped the same could be said for Tavin, Matt, and Calder. When he’d left them to sneak into Satan’s realm, they’d been engaged in a battle they’d initiated as a diversion. It had been a risky move, and Reaver could only pray they’d make it to the rendezvous point.

A hunter’s horn sounded in the distance and was answered by another, closer horn signal. Satan’s minions hadn’t gained ground, but they were spreading out. Damn.

He scanned the landscape of thorny plants, hills of blackened earth and trees, and twisted, abandoned structures. Nothing moved.

He looked down at Harvester, and as before when he first saw her hanging over a pit of acid, he felt sick to his stomach. He didn’t like Harvester even though he was grateful for the things she’d done, but she didn’t deserve this; her naked body too thin and mottled with bruises and ligature marks, her once silken black hair tangled and dull, and worst of all, missing her gorgeous green eyes.

Under ideal circumstances, an angel could heal from even the most heinous injuries within hours. But these were far from ideal circumstances, and Harvester’s source of power, her wings, had been severed. Without wings or medical assistance, it could take weeks, even months, for an angel’s body to fully heal.

“I can’t risk healing you more than I did,” he said. “My power isn’t reliable right now, and I could do more harm than good.”

“Reaver,” she croaked, as if he hadn’t spoken. “Why…how…”

“Shh.” He tucked her face into his chest, quieting her. “We’re going to meet up with some friends, and then I’ll answer all your questions.”

Reaver and the assassins had worked out a plan A and a plan B. Plan A had been shot to hell when iron gates had prevented Reaver from getting out of Satan’s realm to the south, where his companions would have been waiting. Now, with demons in pursuit, they were on their way to plan B. Hopefully Tav, Matt, and Calder had realized quickly that Reaver’s escape route had gone bad.

Inhaling the stench of rotten vegetation that permeated this section of Sheoul, he started away from the skeletons of some burned-out buildings and toward a mountain range as expansive as the Rockies. He moved swiftly, outrunning the sounds of pursuit and pausing once to blast a group of imps with a ball of lightning. The sphere struck the leader, and from there sent electrical strikes at each of the surrounding imps, frying them all in a handy eight-for-one.

Harvester slept in his arms, barely stirring when he stopped to listen for anyone following them. By the time they neared the plan B meeting site, Reaver was sure they’d lost the demons—temporarily. Reaver wasn’t naive enough to think they were off the hook. The demons chasing them were only the first wave, the security detail unlucky enough to be guarding the dungeon Harvester was kept in.

Once Satan got wind of this, if he hadn’t already, Reaver and Harvester were going to have legions of minions on their heels.

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
WARRIOR OF HEAVEN

Reaver is an angel with a past, a record, and a less-than-heavenly attitude. Powerful enough to fight alongside the fiercest battle angels-and crazy enough to risk his wings on a one-way mission to hell-he’s agreed to go where no angel has ever gone before…to steal the most seductive and dangerous prize of Satan himself.

ANGEL OF HELL

Harvester is one of the Fallen, a once-heroic angel who sacrificed her wings to work as an undercover agent in hell. KELLY’S REVIEW:
4.5 HEARTS Another great books by Larissa. I am so in love with the Demonica/Lords of Deliverance series it is not funny. I am really sad that it will be ending soon (I think only one more book :’( ), but back to Reaver. But a disclaimer first: If you have not read the first nine books in this series you really need to stop right here and start from book one. While I think you can read Reaver, I would not recommend it. There is so much that happens in the prior books that you might be lost. So that being said here is my review.

I love this angel even if he is at times an ass. But he is a good guy and wants what is best for the people around him. And Reaver is not afraid to break the rules to do so. And he sure breaks a few rules in this book Harvester, so many readers hate her. Have hated her. And hate that she is Reavers chosen one. But I have been a Harvester fan from day one. I love this Fallen Angel. She is really a good person put into a horrible situation.
Reaver & Harvester are great together. They both have learned over the years to not trust, to not lean on people, to not expect that things will go right. But to get out of Hell alive they are going to have to rely on each other, which might be hard to do since they seem to hate each other. But there is a super fine line between love and hate. And what happens when one of them takes a leap of fate and crosses that line?
Will the find that the other is waiting with open arms or will the find the sharp point of a sword in their heart?
Guess you will have to wait and see.

KIMBERLY’S REVIEW:
There is none better than Larissa Ione to have you instantly pulled into her world by page one. And while her world is filled with demons, Angels and Satan himself you still enjoy the trip.

I have been waiting for Reaver’s story for a while now and was not disappointed. There was never a doubt who Reaver should be. I mean who better than Harvester? Their story has been on going which means I would suggest you not read this as a stand alone. But then who would want to? Ione’s books are a joy a reader has never known before.

Reaver is a interesting mix of angel and ass. Yes you read that right. He can be such a jerk but something about him makes the reader fall for him. And Harvester… Well she is bad ass and yet you gotta love her.

Trust me you will never regret picking up a Ione novel.

About the Author:

sharonI started writing stories as soon as I learned how to put letters together to form words. From that day forward, writing has been a part of my life whether it was my first attempt at a novel in seventh grade or the little plays I wrote for my friends to perform for neighbors and family. After college, when I was busy teaching French and Spanish to high school students, I was also writing poetry — some of it in French.

After several years, I left teaching to be a full time mom, and when my two children started school, I went back to writing. To my delight I found that the muse was still there, still waiting patiently for me to come around. My first novel, Ghostfire, was published at that time. It went on to be condensed in Redbook magazine (the first paperback original the magazine had ever condensed.) Then came The God Children and The Portal. Redbook also published my first short story, which was subsequently sold to several foreign magazines. With two great kids, a golden retriever and a loving, supportive husband (whom I’d met at the beach when I was fourteen — but that’s a story for another day), I felt like I was exactly where I was meant to be in my life. But fate had another plan for me, and it went by the name of “breast cancer.”

Looking back, I realize how fortunate I was that the cancer was discovered at such an early stage, but at the time it was all very overwhelming. Once I was back on my feet, I wanted to help other women who were newly diagnosed, worried and afraid. I became a Reach to Recovery volunteer for the American Cancer Society and went on to run the program for Nassau and Suffolk Counties on Long Island. A number of years later, with the help of my surgical oncologist and two other volunteers, I started Lean On Me, a nonprofit organization that provides peer support and information to breast cancer patients. When Lean On Me celebrated its tenth anniversary it no longer required as much of my time, and I once again found myself free to pursue my first love — writing.

Jennifer’s Review of Sketcher in the Rye

Review (4.5 Stars):  I have never read this series before and after I introduced myself to her first book, Sketch Me If You Can, I was instantly a fan.  In Sketcher in the Rye, Rory has been hired by Gil Harper to find out who is behind the sabotage at Harper Farms.  What Rory finds is a dead body and more than a handful of suspects.  While she investigates the murder, she soon finds that she is being followed and receiving threatening messages to stop her investigation. Hopefully, Rory and her ghostly partner, Zeke, can find the murderer before Rory becomes the next victim.

I love this series and I’m so sorry that it took me a while to find it.  Rory is a fun, sassy character, who is partners with a ghost that she inherited after her uncle’s death.  I love how she is still dealing with Zeke’s new abilities and trying to be a single woman while living with an old-fashioned guy from the 1800’s.  Sketcher in the Rye is a hilarious and entertaining mystery with zany characters that will make you an instant fan of this delightful series.
