SERIES #: Club Sin #6
CHARACTERS: Sawyer Quinn & Chloe Nash
AUTHOR: Stacey Kennedy
PUBLICATION DATE: July 7, 2015
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
A dedicated cop, Sawyer Quinn blows off steam by immersing himself in his role as a Master at the hottest club in Las Vegas. But when Sawyer goes after the perp who brutally beat his sister, he teams up with Chloe Nash, a sexy private investigator who awakens a sweet new need: to keep her to himself, away from the dungeon of Club Sin. Chloe is beautiful, smart, and too innocent for the BDSM lifestyle. Sawyer’s never wanted a woman like this before. Is her love worth swearing off the one thing that keeps him sane?

There’s something different about Sawyer: a commanding strength that pulls Chloe into a vortex of heady desire. But when she learns about his double life as a Dom, she’s shocked—and afraid she could never complete him. Then he saves her life, and just like that, Chloe knows she will be able to give him anything he desires. She is his—wherever and however he wants to take her.

REVIEW:

Commanded opens with a major shock to the Quinn family. Sawyer’s little sister is attacked. But they can’t track down the accused. Sawyer turns to his pal Porter and Porter’s best private investigator. Who also happens to hold the star role in many of Sawyer’s recent fantasies, to bad Ms. Chloe Nash has a boyfriend…..
Another great story from Stacey. Sawyer and Chloe make a great copy. Chloe is the yin to Sawyers yang. I felt like Commanded took the whole Club Sin series to a new level. Yes, there was BDSM. Yes, there was a lot of sexy time. But we got to see a side to Sawyer that if his heroine had been anyone else we would have never seen. If you are a fan of this series you will enjoy this read. It is a quick read (one sitting for me). But a very enjoyable quick read.

Kelly reviews Flight from Death by Yasmine Galenorn

flight from deathTITLE: Flight from Death
SERIES #: Fly by Night #1
CHARACTERS: Alex & Shimmer
AUTHOR: Yasmine Galenorn
PUBLICATION DATE: July 7, 2015
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
From New York Times bestselling author Yasmine Galenorn comes an all-new series set in the realm of her Otherworld novels.

I’m Shimmer, a blue dragon shifter. Thanks to a mistake, I was exiled from the Dragon Reaches and sentenced to work for Alex Radcliffe, a vampire who owns the Fly by Night Magical Investigations Agency. Now, not only do I have to adapt to Earthside culture, but every time I turn around, somebody’s trying to kill us. And worse, Alex is as gorgeous as he is exasperating. But you know what they say: All’s fair in love and bounty hunting…

When an old friend of Alex contacts him about a haunting at the High Tide Bed & Breakfast in Port Townsend, Washington, we think we’re on a simple ghost hunt. But our investigation quickly transforms into a deadly fight as we uncover an eighty-year-old murder, a cursed house, and a dark force trapping the spirits within. To stop impending disaster we must break the curse and lay the angry spirits to rest.

REVIEW:
Flight from Death is the first book in Ms. Galenorn’s new Fly by Night series. As I started this book I knew that this was a spin off from her Otherworld series (sadly I have not got catch up on this series). I wondered if I would be lost in this new world. I was not. Ms. Galenorn does a great job of bring us up to speed quickly on the world she has created. I think were it would have been beneficial (for me) was to see Alex and Shimmer before this book. They have some kind of history. I think that history, while retold a little in Flight from Death, would have helped understand Alex and Shimmer’s attraction to each other just a little better. I felt like in Flight from Death that it went from “oh he is cute, but has a girlfriend” to “oh the broke up, must jump at this chance”. Now don’t get me wrong I loved Alex and Shimmer I just wish that there was just a tad bit more build up (hence knowing their history in the other books). But that being said, Flight from Death was a good book. I enjoyed the story line and the what’s and why’s. I love that Shimmer is a dragon. Not enough female dragon shifters everywhere.
If you are a Yasmine Galenorn fan you will love this book. If you are new to Ms. Galenorn I hope that you will give Flight from Death a try.

Favorite line:
“….. Say, I’m hungry. Patrick have anything good in the house? I could eat a horse.”
Alex glanced at me, grinning “Have you ever? Eaten a horse?”
I blushed. Truth was, I had………..

Awe, gotta love dragons.

a new hopeTITLE: A New Hope
SERIES #: Thunder Point #8
CHARACTERS: Ginger & Matt
AUTHOR: Robyn Carr
PUBLICATION DATE: 01/01/15
ORDER LINKS: Amazon| B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Starting over is never easy, but in Thunder Point, where newcomers are welcome and friends become family, it’s possible to find yourself again. In this brand-new story, #1 New York Times bestselling author Robyn Carr takes us on a moving and rewarding journey as a young woman finds new hope.

After losing her child, Ginger Dysart was lost in grief. But since moving to Thunder Point, a small town on the Oregon coast, and with the help of her cousin Ray Anne, Ginger is finally moving forward. Her job at the flower shop is peaceful and fulfilling, and she’s excited to start her first big assignment, assisting with the Lacoumette wedding.

In spite of her lasting heartache, Ginger finds herself swept up in the pleasure of the occasion. But the beauty of the Lacoumette farm and the joy of the gregarious family are ruined by an unfortunate encounter with the bride’s brother, Matt. Struggling with painful memories of his own recent divorce, Matt makes a drunken spectacle of himself and Ginger when he tries to make a pass at her, forcing Ginger to flee the scene in embarrassment.

But when Matt shows up at the flower shop determined to make amends, what started out as a humiliating first meeting blossoms into something much deeper than either of them expected. Discovering they have a lot in common, they form a solid friendship, though everyone around them worries that Ginger will end up with a broken heart yet again. But if Ginger has the courage to embrace the future, and if Matt can finally learn to let go of the past, there may still be hope for a happy ending.

REVIEW:
4.25 Hearts This is the latest visit to Thunder Point and i have enjoyed every one of these visits. Thunder Point is a small town romance with all the sweetness that a small town can handle. Ginger and Matt both have a bunch of baggage and aren’t sure they will ever get over it but then Matt makes a drunken pass at Ginger that goes terribly wrong and yet it changes their life forever.

I enjoyed Ginger a lot. While she has been through a lot she still has a good head on her shoulders. She has a way of being down to earth and knowing what needs to be done to bring peace to her past and later to Matt’s. Matt is a good guy. His ex-wife did something that he is not sure can ever be forgiven but somehow Ginger makes him understand that hate isn’t about the other person but about what it does to yourself.

There are a lot of life lessons in this story surrounded by romance. I enjoyed the check ins with locals that we have met in the past. Any fan of small town romance will love this book and even more the series. This book can be a stand alone but not sure why you wouldn’t want to start from book one and visit Thunder Point over and over again.

Dive into Soul Scorched, the sizzling next novel in the Dark Kings series from New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant

REVIEW:
Amazing!!!! Soul Scorched takes us back into the world of the Dragon Kings. And of course thing can just go right for them right now. At every turn they are battling the Dark Fae, Urlik and each other. The events in Night Blaze (if you haven’t read I will try to keep spoiler free) had you thinking that things were getting ready to turn maybe for the better. But in Soul Scorched everything takes a huge nose dive. Friends can’t be trusted, enemy can and not everyone is what they seem.
I will say I had a little bit of anxiety (okay a lot) while reading this book. There is so much going on. The Kings are all over the place. We get a cameo from the Warriors (which only makes things more tense) and of course… We get a few bread crumbs surrounding Rhi and her Dragon King. So many things are turned upside down in this book. UUUGGGGG!!! I wish that I could just poof into Ms. Grant’s brain and see the whole story, but sadly I don’t have that power. But until then keep reading…..

Quote Shirt Alice in Wonderland – Womens Graphic Tee Book Lover Wonderland Shirt – six impossible things before breakfast quote
$27.00 (plus S&H)
My hand screen printed design features the following quote from Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll on a beautiful, feminine women’s flowy dolman sleeve shirt:
“Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast. -Alice in Wonderland”
When I was a child, the first version of Alice I read included both Alice’s Adventure’s in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There. They are often included together, both in book form and in screen adaptations. Since all that wouldn’t fit on the scarf, I’ve used the common shortened version of Alice in Wonderland. I was absolutely charmed by all the fanciful language and non-sensical characters. This quote is said by the White Queen, and this is the larger quote from the book:
Alice laughed. “There’s no use trying,” she said: “one can’t believe impossible things.”
“I daresay you haven’t had much practice,” said the (White) Queen. “When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast…”

Cover Reveal of Jacey Conrad & Gia Corona’s From Russia with Claws

The ladies of From Russia with Claws have stopped by to share their new cover.  I think it is pretty amazing. But before they share they wanted to talk a little. Or I should say they are kicking me off the blog and taking over…..

BUT….. before they take over let me tell you a little about the ladies.

Jacey Conrad is a sushi-loving, pop culture nerd living in the South with her high school sweetheart.  She delights in horribly made mutant shark movies and watching Sean Bean die in his various cinematic incarnations.  To keep up with Jacey on twitter, go to https://twitter.com/JaceyConrad

Gia Corona loves boots, boys, and bourbon, not necessarily in that order. When she’s not actively stalking Michael Fassbender and his abdominals, she’s watching questionable television or reading comics. You can find her at twitter.com/Gia_writes

Okay I am getting the evil eye. Time for me to leave. Please be nice to my blog ladies.

Gia: I saw this on my FB feed and felt that I needed to know—IMMEDIATELY—what Jacey and I would be if we had to be a Disney henchbeing/sidekick/insert random dudebro thing here. Here we go

WHICH MENACING DISNEY DUO ARE YOU AND YOUR BFF?

1) Where would you rather live?

Gia: Well, since Jacey and I already wrote a series (Facile Restaurant) of short stories set in New Orleans because we loved the food, I’ve got to go with New Orleans. Not only for the food, but because Trashy Diva and Fluevog both have shops there. Just take all our money, NOLA. Damn.

Jacey: I also put down NOLA, because we assimilated waaaay too easily when we were there for a conference. An entire culture based on delicious food and irresponsible amounts of booze? We’re hooooome!

2) What was the last bad thing you did?

Gia: This was a tough one, since I have to take into account Jacey’s crimes, as small as they are. I went with Emotionally Hurt Someone because very rarely will that lead to arrest and, even though Jacey recently might have engaged in some more physical shenanigans, I feel like the emotional trauma she put HERSELF through far outweighs the physical harm to anyone in her sparring class.

Jacey: That’s true and also the answer I chose. I tend to torture myself when I feel like I’ve hurt someone’s feelings. But after I stepped on a guy’s crotch during a hip-throw gone awry, I shrugged it off and told him, “If you don’t like it, take a knitting class.” Gia is above petty crime and pretty restrained when it comes to her violent urges. Verbally knocking someone the hell out? She does not hold back.

3) How long have you known your BFF?

Gia: Not very long. We met and just got on like a house afire. Maybe literally. YOU DON’T KNOW MY LIFE!

Jacey: It’s very strange, we only met three years ago? And yes, we started talking about movies, fandoms, books, and it was like I’d found my snark soul twin.

4) What Disney song sums up a night on the town with you and your BFF?

Gia: Poor Unfortunate Souls from The Little Mermaid. Because really. We are a bartender’s worst nightmare.

Jacey: I put down Topsy Turvy from Hunchback of Notre Dame, because we’re that kind of fun.

5) What do you and your BFF bond over?

Gia: Movies. Specifically hot men in movies.

Jacey: I put down work, since we met at a work related event.  (hangs head in shame.)

6) How often to you and your BFF argue?

Gia: Never. We are delightful broads who laugh a LOT.

Jacey: Never. We really don’t. I wouldn’t say we’re easy going, because we’re both pretty opinionated, but happily, our opinions line up pretty often.

7) On a scale of 1-6 (6 being the highest), how menacing are you and your BFF?

Gia: This was hard because we sort of cancel each other out. Jacey is incredibly nice in public and has a face that makes people want to talk to her about the weirdest things. I, however, have cultivated a truly epic resting bitchface that is terrifying. It saves me a lot of hassle of having to interact with, well, anybody. I think I’m meaner than Jacey, but then again, animated birds braid her hair every morning, so there you go. I put us down for a 3.

Jacey: That explains the feathers. For the record, I’m pretty nice in private too, though I do curse like a longshoreman. Gia, on the other hand, while she does have an epic RBF, is a very kind person with crazy amounts of personal integrity. So I put us down as a 3.

8) What Disney animal would you want as a pet?

Gia: There’s a Pegasus as a choice? Hell yes, who wouldn’t want a flying horse! You’d never sit stuck in traffic again!

Jacey: Why would you want a dog when you could have a Pegasus? You can’t get a Pegasus at the pound!

We both got Madame Medusa’s alligators from the Rescuers!

Madame Medusa

Go take the test for yourself  “WHICH MENACING DISNEY DUO ARE YOU AND YOUR BFF?”  and then come back and tell us who you got!!!

As promised here is the cover of From Russia with Claws.

FROM RUSSIA WITH CLAWS

FromRussia_Front_v2

When Alpha female Galina Sudenko agreed to attend her distant cousin’s birthday party, she wasn’t counting on meeting the devastatingly handsome and powerful Rom Alpha, Andrey Lupesco, or having her sexy times with him interrupted by the murder of her idiot brother-in-law, Sergei. But such is life when your father is one of the most powerful werewolves within Seattle’s supernatural Russian organized crime syndicate.

Not content with being just a pretty face and good breeding stock, Galina sets out to make her mark within the family. But in doing so, she runs afoul of her eldest brother, Alexei, the heir apparent to the family dynasty. He has no intention of ceding his position without a fight.

Andrey and Galina’s burgeoning romance is threatened when she discovers that before his death, Irina’s husband, Sergei, hijacked Andrey’s shipment of the werewolf drug, Bullet, a synthetic drug that gives the supernatural creatures a cocaine-like high. Sergei’s theft means that Andrey had a reason to have Sergei killed, leaving Galina to decide whether to risk trusting Andrey even as her feelings for him deepen.

As her brother Alexei’s behavior becomes more erratic, Galina must find the missing shipment, prove to her family that she’ll be a capable leader, and decide whether her lover Andrey can be trusted before she can hope to challenge her brother for his position as head of the family.

A tale of sexy werewolves, forbidden love, family power struggles, and danger closing in, Gia Corona and Jacey Conrad’s From Russia With Claws will leave you howling for more!

Molly Jebber PhotoHere is a little about Molly:

I said to my loving husband, Ed, “I’ve always wanted to write a book. A story that readers would get lost in for a while.” He said, “Do it!” My daughter, Misty, brother, Mitch, and Mom, Sue said, “Take Ed’s advice, do it!” So I did. The road wasn’t easy, but the education, Amish research, and ride along the way to getting published taught me to take my favorite verse to heart.

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me”. Philippians 4:13 KJV

Why Amish Inspirational Romance?

I love their dedication to serve God. I visited Amish Country in Ohio many times. They work hard and have such a close knit friendship with each other. It’s heartwarming and uplifting. At the same time, they face hardships and difficult problems just like we do.

God answered my prayers and gave me the best mentor, author, and friend, Patricia Campbell, to hone my skills. I’m blessed to have Dawn Dowdle as my agent, and John S. from Kensington as my editor.

I’m thank for you, the reader, for being interested in my book! I’d love to hear from you.

Natasha reviews Minutes To Kill by Melinda Leigh

minutes to killTITLE: Minutes to Kill
SERIES #: Scarlet Falls #2
CHARACTERS: Hannah Barrett & Brody McNamara
AUTHOR: Melinda Leigh
PUBLICATION DATE: June 30, 2015
ORDER LINKS: Amazon| B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
After corporate attorney Hannah Barrett tries—and fails—to stop a kidnapping in Vegas, she can’t shake the haunting image of the terrified young girl she couldn’t save. She tells herself that a visit to her hometown in Scarlet Falls could be a welcome distraction. But soon, Hannah realizes the kidnappers have all the info they need to track her every move. And when chilling e-mails about the victim appear in her inbox, it’s frighteningly clear what happened in Vegas has followed her home.
Eight months after a terrible family tragedy, Hannah turns to Detective Brody McNamara once again. Brody is eager to help, though he’s embroiled in the investigation of a brutal murder. But the closer they work together, the stronger their feelings grow…and the more they stand to lose when two seemingly unrelated, but equally deadly, cases collide.

REVIEW: This is the second book in Leigh’s Scarlett Falls series. They are great mystery romance novels with intriguing and well-written characters. I have to say, Hannah Barrett was a bit of fresh air for me as a heroine. I really liked her character in the first book Hour of Need and was very excited to see more of her in the follow-up. She is an incredibly strong and self-sufficient character who makes intelligent decisions in times of distress. There was one point in the story where I was so sure I was about to smack my head and say NOOOOO!!! – Thankfully Hannah did not make me do that and I respected the strength of the character even more. Brody and Hannah have great interaction and I thoroughly enjoyed reading the two of them together. This was another strong addition to this series. It has it all, characters we love and care about; great story telling and great plots. I’m excited for the next book in the series; I’m hoping we will finally see more of Mac!
