Change is coming…

I draw my inspiration from a retired Marine Master Sergeant that swept me off of my feet and has drawn me into a world that fulfills all of my deepest and darkest desires. Smoldering romance, military men, intrigue, with a little bit of kinky chili pepper (his recipe), fill my head and there is nothing more satisfying than making the hero and heroine fulfill their destinies.Thank you for having joined me on their journeys…

KIMBERLY’S REVIEW:
I wasn’t sure about this story but I am a fan of Jeffe Kennedy’s so I always request her books from NetGalley so I picked this one up too. And I am really glad I did.

Both Celestina and Ryan are suffering from loss even though they are very different kinds. What makes this work so well is they have had an attraction for a while they just were not in a place to do anything about the attraction but now they can. Ryan is not obnoxious about the money and power he has and I appreciated that. Celestina is a great character has well.

Kennedy wrote a really good book with this one and as always I will stay a fan.

KELLY’S REVIEW:
4.5 Hearts The Coincidence of Coconut Cake is Amy E. Reichert’s debut novel. And it was a delightful book!!! While the storyline was a tad bit predictable, the characters and the journey were still a lot of fun to read. Oh and the coconut cake. Oh man!! I love me some coconut cake I am going to have to make this cake. Thank you Amy for including the recipe. Okay back to the review.
I really enjoyed Lou. She made me want to be her friend. I felt so much for everything that she goes through in this story. Lou may have thought she knew what she wanted but Fate always seems to have other plans.
Al, oh man!!! Let me just say that this Brit has it going on. He is a bit of a, how do I want to put this, stick in the mud in the beginning I fell in love with his stuffy, khaki wearing, grumpy, I can’t wait to leave this place, pain in everyone’s back side.
I really enjoyed this story. If you are looking for a fun, light and quick read that will leave you craving coconut cake. Or if you are looking for a new author to check out. I would suggest giving Ms. Reichert’s a try.
Can’t wait to see what she has next for us.

Spotlight: Where is my Kennedy Layne mug day 1

Happy Monday Everyone!!!  Viviana, Enchantress of Books and I had the amazing pleasure of meeting Kennedy Layne in Dallas, Texas in May at RT.  Kennedy is one of the sweetiest people I met at RT.   And did you know she adopted a super sweet little kitty while on vacation?  Yep, she did.  Merc!  That is him in the banner. (pause for the ooh’s and aah’s).

REVIEW:
OH how I have waited for this book!!!! I am so glad that Jennifer was able to find the time to write Linc’s book. It was great to get back into the world of the Wing Slayer Hunters.
In Caged Magic we learn a whole lot more about Linc and his past. I past that is beyond heartbreaking, yet it made him be a very strong person. We learn more about his Falcon and he is pretty darn amazing. We also get to see a side of Linc I was not sure we would ever see.
Risa had a great life until her mother died, then everything went to hell. Risa is one tough cookie. She has dealt with so much in her past that it is amazing she has survived. But when Kendall’s life is on the line she will do everything to save the child.
Loved Linc & Risa together. Loved their battle to trust and love. Really liked the depth that Jennifer took us to with Ram and Eli. And SUPER excited to know that their stories are coming soon.
To my fellow Wing Slayer Hunters: hang on this is a bumpy ride!!!!!
To my newbies: you really need to start with book one Blood Magic. There is a lot of history that builds up to this book. And hey there are only 4 books in front of this one. Easy to get catch up!!!

Until we meet again Wing Slayers Hunters!!! Oh and Key??? You better show up more in the next book. Miss you and your dragon.

REVIEW:
Sworn to Protect opens with Quinn doing the right thing. Helping someone who is in need. But that act of helping will soon turn into a life of death battle.

Sworn to Protect was a really quick read for me. Quinn and Athena’s story is full of suspense, action and of course smexy time. I really enjoyed watching Quinn right his wrongs. And boy howdy does he right the in an awesome way. Athena is strong willed and brave. She also is not willing to take crap from anyone even Quinn. These two make a great pair.

As always I really enjoyed this Red Stone Security story. Looking forward to the next story.

REVIEW:
4.5 Hearts This might be my favorite of the Club Sin series so far. I can’t tell you everything I want to because it would most certainly have spoilers and I don’t want to spoil any part of this story. It is a short story with under 140 pages but so much happens.

I have liked Sawyer from first meeting him. Something about him had a bit of a difference than the others and now I understand why. And Chloe. What a great character she is. She is someone I would want to be friends with and I think that is one of the best compliments you can give an author.

**Possible spoilers but I am trying not to ** But what I really enjoyed was the ending. It is a bit different than the normal BDSM story so I found myself feeling more committed to the story because of that. Sawyer had me from page one but I fell all over again for him at the end of the book.

Another great story from Kennedy. If you enjoy the genre you will most certainly enjoy this series and while I suggest reading all of them you don’t need to to read this one. And this read is worth it.

REVIEW:
3.75 Hearts WOW!!! This was one messed up book. Messed up in the fact that the killer is one twisted freaking crazy person. Messed up that Kristine has to go through so much hell because of one sick and twisted person. Messed up that I don’t think I will ever stop at a freeway rest stop ever again. EVER!!!! Did I say ever? Because I mean NEVER EVER EVER again!!!!
This was a good book that keeping you on the edge of your seat. I did figure out what was happening early on but the why’s behind it gave me chills. I often wonder what goes on in the mind of a suspense novelist. Then I think “Might be better off not knowing”.
In short: I liked the book. Glad I read it. Would I recommend to everyone. No, not everyone. This book is twisted, gnarled and millions times messed up that will leave you with night terrors, but……… If you are into that then you would love Swerve. If you are into fun loving, unicorns and rainbows, you might want to skip this book. UNLESS you are willing to go out of your comfort zone. Because Swerve will take you out of your comfort zone take you into WTF zone and leave you in how will I ever recover from this zone.

REVIEW:
3.5 Hearts Emberly is a strong female character lead – I enjoy her a lot. This book was another interesting installment in this new series and offered answers to lingering questions. I’m curious how the story line will continue from here, it’s going to be very exciting. There are lots of characters in this series, and sometimes they get mingled together, but they’re all intriguing and you want to see more of them. Emberly reminds me a lot of Keri’s heroine Riley Jensen – which is a big compliment, since I loved that series. I’ll keep following the series, I want to see what’s in store for these characters. It seems Emberly is destined for an eternity of heartbreak and my fingers are crossed she’ll find her happy lifetime! Keri Arthur writes very creative stories with characters you fall in love with, even if sometimes the complexity gets a little deep.
