REVIEW:
3.75 Hearts Sometimes when the story is about a tough female trying to make it in a man’s world the story loses something for me. And maybe it did in this one a bit but not a lot. Savannah is just a girl trying to live up to the family tradition. He isn’t out to prove that women are as good as men just that she belongs in the “family business” like the rest of the family does.
Cole is all about working his way up the firefighter chain. He wants to prove he can be the best and do what he loves.
When the two of them are together there is sparks of their own. The suspense part of the story is good but the story is more about the romance and I enjoyed it.
Kincaid does make her firefighters HOT so be prepared for some sizzle. This is the second in the series but can be a stand alone as well.

4.75 Hearts The best revenge is served cold or is it served scorching hot??
Well if you ask Ann Weaver the idea of revenge is ice cold and full of getting even against those who hurt her. But when the plan of revenge is put into place, cold is the very last thing that she experiences. To say that Jack Bloom will melt the block of ice that has encased Ann’s broken heart would be a huge understatement.
After finishing another one of Ms. Harte’s series (The McCauley Brothers ) I was super excited when I saw her new Best Revenge series. Served Cold is the first book in this trilogy (I am assuming it is a trilogy because of Terrible Trio). I am so glad that I did pick up this book. Jack and Ann are just great!!! I mean amazing. They are so great together and boy howdy the sexy time is wowza!!!
I loved this book. Loved the cover. This was one sit read for me. I just could not tear myself away from the story. I loved the side characters too!! I so can not wait for the next book in this series. If you are looking a great, quick and hot read you really need to pick up a copy of Served Cold.

REVIEW:
Rick Mofina does it again. Mofina has a way of pulling you into a story from the first page and not letting go and no matter how long the book is you feel like you can’t get enough and just as all of his others this is no different. This is the 4th in the Kate Page series and while I would always recommend you reading the books in order this book can be read as a stand alone. I would just imagine that you would miss a bit of Kate’s history.
I could certainly imagine this book as a tv show or movie. There is so much truism in it that you can picture it as you read the story in full technicolor detail. Kate is a strong woman who stands up for herself and I enjoy that about her. She is smart and real.
I would highly recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a good action packed suspense. I can’t imagine anyone would be disappointed in this book or series.

Someone was in her hotel room.
Her gaze swung to the bathroom door she’d left cracked open. Her heart hammered against her ribs as her stomach clenched in fear. No one should’ve been able to get into her room. She’d bolted the door.
In an attempt to slow her racing heart, she took a deep breath. Then, slowly pushed open the door. She peered around the edge to find a man sitting casually in the overstuffed chair. Long black hair was pulled away and clasped at the base of his neck. Gold eyes watched her with a wealth of humor. And a smidgen of mockery.
She blew out a breath and leaned against the door of the bathroom as indifferently as she could while wrapped in a towel.

She had to get her nerves under control and quickly. Without delay, she dressed in a pair of black lounge pants and a loose-fitting, long-sleeved gray shirt. When she exited, Sam was in the same position. Except now there were two glasses of Scotch sitting on the coffee table.
Their gazes met. Rachel had learned to listen to her instincts, and as she looked into Sam’s eyes, she saw determination, anticipation, and…a slow burning anger. He blinked, and the anger was gone, hidden once more.
It would show again. It always did. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t hide it for long. She found it difficult to trust him because she knew he was keeping something from her.
“I don’t like whisky,” she replied as she walked from the bathroom. She tucked her leg beneath her and sat on the sofa opposite him.
He gave an indifferent shrug. “I’d advise you change your mind.”

REVIEW:
4.5 Hearts This is such a poignant book in this time in our lives. Bullying is an epidemic that seems to be growing and not lessening, unfortunately. This book brings you right to the point of it. Damon is bullied and commits suicide and after threatening revenge upon his death those that bullied him begin to receive threats and more. Of course people believe it is Spencer who is doing this so it is up to Andrea to prove he is innocent.
The bullies in this book are just despicable and the reader is just heartbroken for Damon and Spencer. The reader can really understand how some people feel that suicide is the only wait out. This book is a fast read but it keeps your interest the whole way through.
Wonderful book that will leave you thinking for days after you finish it.

3.5 Hearts We met Clara in the book before this one, Haunted Destiny, when Clara was the friend of the female lead. So we know that Clara can see ghost but she just didn’t know they are ghost. And now we meet Thor who is the next Krewe of Hunters (to be) member. However, you do not need to have read Haunted Destiny to read this story of Clara.
I love the Krewe books, I enjoy the ghost stories and the suspense, but mostly I think I enjoy the history that gets painted by Graham. She brings you to a point that you want to jump on the next plane and go to that location to read up on the history, to see the sights she is talking about or at minimum grab a history book. But this book (and Haunted Destiny) are different. There doesn’t seem to be that bit of history in these last books. I lived in Alaska and appreciated the realness of what she was talking about but the history of it is just missing.
The other part of Graham’s books is that I rarely figure out who did it. But I knew from the moment the character was introduced who it was. And that just took some of the joy of the book away.
Now this is not to say you shouldn’t read it. It’s a good read and if I hadn’t read all of the Krewe books I may have a different review I just feel this one didn’t stand up to the others.

Plowing his gloved fists into the punching bag in front of him on the morning of the fourth day, Abe blocked out the other sounds in the gym and attempted to lose himself in the rhythm of the mindless action. It worked for about a minute before his mind filled with Sarah again. Her shy smile when he gave her a compliment. The way she’d sit curled up under his arm and read to him on lazy summer days.
Hard on the heels of that memory came one of him throwing her books in the pool in a drugfueled rage. She’d been sobbing as she tried to save them.
“Fucking bastard,” Abe muttered, talking to his past self. He punched the bag so hard that it threatened to swing back right into his face. He didn’t care. He deserved to have his face beaten in.
Ripping off his gloves afterward, he showered, then went straight to a bookshop.
It was too little too late, but now that he’d remembered his asshole behavior, he couldn’t just leave it. Ball cap pulled low, he wandered the aisles… then realized most people here didn’t care who he was; they were more interested in the volumes that lined the shelves. He spent an hour inside the murmuring quiet of the store, searching for the titles he remembered seeing on their bedside table. She’d definitely read him Jane Austen.
He couldn’t remember which one though, so he bought the entire set.
And there was this one romance novel she loved and had read over and over again. He’d teased her it would fall apart in her hands one day. She’d just smiled and read him a paragraph that she’d told him was part of her favorite scene. What the hell had it been? Yes, that was it. In the end, it turned out the store didn’t have that book in stock, so he bought her a bunch of new releases featuring people with dogs or puppies on the covers. He definitely remembered seeing covers like that in their home
After spotting it in a display, he added in a nonfiction book about a woman who’d set up her own company while nearly flat broke and who was now a millionaire. At the counter, he paid extra to have the books wrapped up and packaged.
He’d called his car service earlier; the driver shot him a funny look when he put the package in the passenger seat and gave him Sarah’s address. “I’m a courier now?” the stocky middleaged man asked, having worked long enough for Schoolboy
Choir that he was a friend. They’d all missed his calm demeanor and total trustworthiness when he broke his leg recently and had been out for a while.
“Best in the business,” Abe responded.
The other man snorted. “I’ll get it to her now.”
Blowing out a breath after the gleaming black town car pulled away, Abe went to where he’d parked his SUV and got in. He didn’t want to go home to his empty house, but he didn’t want to barge in on his friends either. David and Thea, Noah and Kit, they needed time alone. As for Molly and Fox, while the newlyweds were back home after a short wedding trip, having postponed their honeymoon until later in the year, Abe wasn’t about to bust up their love nest.
Gabriel and Charlotte probably wouldn’t have minded the company since they’d been doing the sightseeing thing, but the other couple had flown back to New Zealand twentyfour hours earlier—after inviting all of them to their own wedding.
His phone buzzed right then. Picking it up, he saw a message from Fox. Molly and I are at that Thai place with the noodles you like. We saved you a seat if you want to join us for lunch. Damn, he loved his bandmates. On my way, he messaged back.
Starting the engine, he tried not to obsess over if Sarah would call him after receiving his long overdue gift. Hell, he’d be content with her throwing the books at his head. All he wanted was for her to talk to him, to let him show her he wasn’t that guy anymore, the one who’d destroyed them both.

4.5 Hearts This is book 2 in Elianne’s Dark Wolves series. Unfortunately, I was not able to ready book 1 prior to starting book 2, but that’s ok! This book gives enough background that it can be read as a standalone. However, I have now downloaded book 1 just so my set can be complete. This is a really quick read, however you definitely feel connected to Wesken and Amalija (can we just swoon at this beautiful name!). These two are such a good match and I was rooting for them the entire time. There are also so many supporting characters that we will get to see get their own stories, so this is a very promising series!

REVIEW:
I loved this book!!!! Allegiance of Honor was not at all what I expected from Ms. Singh. Normally, we have a new budding romance. Allegiance of Honor doesn’t have that but it has so much more. We get to catch up many of the couples we have grown to love. I personally love all the Judd (he is my all time favorite) time. It was great to see the kids growing. To see Naya finally shift. To get to see how much Dark River and Snow Dance have truly become a family. To get to finally find out what the Pupcubs are going to be!!!
Some people are going not like this book because of all the facts I just named. There was not a lot of new action in Allegiance of Honor, but it laid the foundation for another major change that is going to be coming to the world.
As I said, I loved this story. Love this whole series!!!! And I can not wait for the next installment in this series.
As always I let the amazingly talented Angela Dawe read this story to me. I love that she is so beyond talented with the range of voices she is able to produce. When you combine a great storyteller with an excellent narrator you get amazing results!!!!

4.25 Hearts This is the first in a new series by Vonnie Davis and I so enjoyed it. Kelcee and Dustin have an instant connection even though at first it seems more antagonistic than love at first sight. Dustin is a wounded SEAL who is learning to deal with his prosthetic and wants nothing more than to get back with his team but he needs time to heal so his old commander brings him to Warrior Falls. Kelcee has issues of her own and while it is pretty obvious it is not confirmed until later in the story what has really happened to her.
I really liked the background characters in this story. ZQ is great and is a perfect commander who can be badass and sweet on the same page. JJ and Nance are adorable. Nance is a wounded vet just like the rest of the guys, doesn’t matter that she walks on four legs. She loves her boys! Junebug is a perfect southern mama. And the rest of the town is just as great.
This is a fast read which also means that the couple practically said hello and they were in love but that is ok but weirdly enough the story had a lot of repetitive moments. But even with that it is a great summer read about our heroes coming home and dealing with not only physical pain but mental.
