A Forever Kind of Love by Shiloh Walker

You can always come home. Second chances come a little harder.

Chase and Zoe were the high school golden couple. Football captain, cheerleader, prom royalty. After graduation, though, Chase couldn’t resist the urge to experience life outside their small town. He didn’t exactly expect Zoe to wait twelve years for him, but now that he’s back, he finds some small part of him hoping she did.

It’s no big surprise she’s married. The kick in the face is she married his best friend.

Zoe was devastated when Chase left, but she’s filed those bittersweet memories under “Moved On”. She loves her life, and loves her husband. She has all she needs. And Chase keeps an honorable distance.

One cold, wet, miserable day, tragedy turns Zoe’s world upside down. Chase never expected her to simply fall into his arms, but a man can dream. Except his dream doesn’t include the fact that this time, she’s the one hitting the road…and he’s the one left behind.

My Summary:
When Chase returned home after 15 years he only has one thing on his mind.  Zoe.  The girl he left behind, his high school sweetheart and the love of his life.  He should have never left town or maybe taken her with him, but he didn’t, he just turned and ran away from everything that was ever important to him.
Zoe has always been a small town girl; she was a cheerleader in high school and fell in love with the football captain.  Everything was perfect until Chase just up and left and Zoe’s world crashed all around her.  15 years later Zoe is happily married and not longer thinks about Chase, well almost never.
But now that Chase is back in town.  Zoe loves her husband and would never leave him, not even for the true love of her life.   But never say never sometimes fate has its own plan.

Touched by an Alien by Gini Koch

My Summary:

Katherine “Kitty” Katt had found herself in the middle of something that she never knew existed.  Now her whole world is turned upside down when the Uber Gorgeous Jeff Martini and Christopher White show up and let her in on a little secret.  There are Aliens on her plant and not all of them are friendly.

Surrounded by drop-dead gorgeous men and women Kitty has to find a way to save the world, the people she loves all without losing her life or her heart in the process.  But is Kitty strong enough to lead this team in the fight against evil and fight her feelings for Martini and Christopher.
My thoughts:
Oh man did I ever enjoy this book!!  I have not read many sci-fi stories but I am hookedon this series.  Gini has created a world with so many elements, so many layers and so much going on that I can’t wait to get to the next book to find out what happens… I love that Jeff Martini (Super Hot Alien), knows what he wants the minute he sees Kitty.  He knows she is his future, even if he is not sure why.   Kitty on the other hand is independent, stubborn and controlling.  Jeff challenges here every step of the way.  Throw in Jeff’s equally HOT cousin Christopher (whom I am totally in love with), who also has a thing for Kitty.  Add two hot aliens and one human and you have one confused human girl and way too much testosterone and tension.    But true love always wins in the end right?  Well I guess you will have to read to find out.
I have to say a Special thank you to Tigris Eden for introducing me to Gini Koch and her crazy hot world of Aliens.  Tigris hosted a contest called 14 days of love and I had the pleasure of winning both Jeff and Christopher *SWOON*

Yum, Christopher

Special Thanks to Gini, who always takes time out of her busy life to talk to me…

One Town, Four Women learning to Live and Love Again.

The Ladies of Legend
One book, Four Authors.
One Town, Four Women learning to Live and Love Again.
Each of these stories takes one of the ladies from the town Legend Tennessee and tells their story of them finding new love, a new life and that place they can finally find home.  I really enjoyed all of these stories.    How small town people are willing to protect their own even when their own is the new kid in town.  How a small town affects new people and how one new person can change a town.   How when you realize you have nothing you return home only to find that your destiny follows you and stakes its claim on you. How a second chance at love in a small town could be as close as the boy you could never ever forget about.
If you are looking for four quick fun reads that will leave you wanting to know more about the characters and the little town that they live in this is the book for you.   Below you will find a blurb of each Novella along with a link for chapter one.  ENJOY!!!!
Each of the Novellas can be purchases separately or in a print novel titled Finding Home.

A Ladies of Legend Novella

For Lilly Peach staying alive means keeping a low profile, blending in, not being noticed. When she fears having been found by those contracted to kill her, Lilly is sent to a new “safe house” in Legend, Tennessee.

The pristine old fashioned streets and genteel southern hospitality of the town’s folks eventually lull Lilly into believing, maybe, just maybe, she can settle in and make a safe and quiet life for herself. But when Legend’s nationally famous high school football coach decides to make her his lady, Lilly is thrown into the spotlight as well, giving those seeking to find and destroy her, another chance to fulfill their contract.

Midnight in Legend, TNby Magdalena Scott
A Ladies of Legend Novella

Midnight Shelby is starting over. She’s leaving her ex-husband and the big city, big corporate life behind her. But she doesn’t know where she’s going until she happens upon an amazing website advertising real estate in Legend, Tennessee, a place she didn’t know existed. The virtual tour of a large two-story big brick building—a former bar—on the main street of the small town makes her fall in love. With the building, and with the potential for a new life.

She has no idea she’ll also fall in love with the realtor who sells her the property.

Martin McClain was born and raised in the Legend area. His family has lived there for generations, and he feels a duty to preserve it. Part of the reason is his thirteen-year-old son Daniel. The web site Daniel created has been good for business, but although Martin is a real estate agent by trade, he’s wary of newcomers’ motivations. With good reasons—one of them is Daniel’s absent mother.

For love of Legend, and with an eye toward Daniel’s future, Midnight and Martin begin to work together, and learn that in spite of their different starting points, their destination is the same: Home.

Bed, Breakfast and You
by Maddie James
A Ladies of Legend Novella

Suzie Schul has it all. A booming business, a wonderful town to live in and, well, food. Yeah, she loves to cook and she’s the best darned cook in Legend, Tennessee. Everybody says so. She runs her own B&B, has published a cookbook, conducts cooking classes on Saturdays, and caters for special events and holidays.

What more could she want, really?

Nothing that she will admit, anyway. And let’s not even think about that brief escape to Gatlinburg several months back when she had separated from her then-husband, Cliff. Or the fact that the man ran off with her little sister while they were, um, estranged. And let’s definitely not bring to light that she’d never really revealed to anyone in the small town of Legend what exactly had happened between her and Cliff.

Or the fact that while she was off “finding herself” and “losing her husband” at the same time, she sort of, well, had a fling. But never mind about that, because “the fling” is long gone and likely doesn’t even know where to find her. Besides, he was trouble.

And just when Suzie thinks all is well, TROUBLE rides up to her B&B doorstep on a bad-ass Harley and tosses her perfect little world into some kind of big, bad tumble.

The Reunion Game
by Jan Scarbrough

A Ladies of Legend Novella

Thirty-three-year-old Jane Smith’s biological clock is ticking. But pickings are slim in Legend, Tennessee, until the fifteen year high school reunion gives Jane a second chance. Graham Winchester will be back in town.

In high school, Jane’s shyness has stopped her from taking action. Now she’s older, wiser and no longer afraid. Graham has moved to the big city and won’t stick around after the reunion. He’s a confirmed bachelor and happily-ever-after is not in his makeup. Yet, Jane must exorcise the demon Graham has become so she can get on with her life.

Switching places with her glamorous twin sister is just what she needs to get Mr. Most Likely to Succeed into bed and out of her heart.

The Saga of my Hunter’s Fall ARC

Hunter left Shiloh Walker a safe and happy book to go out on a book blog tour.  On Hunter’s first stop he meets Donna, then Donna sent him on to me…
So Hunter’s Fall arrived at my door safe and sound. I took him home and put him in my office, sitting on the bar stool.  But I left for work the next day, went to my daughter’s LaCrosse game.  Came home to find that the Husband left the dogs alone in the house… I guess that he decided he wanted to get to know Hunter’s Fall a little better.
Good thing that the book is still readable and that I was the last stop on this leg of the tour. Can you imagine the poor person who would have gotten this book after me….
My review for Hunter’s Fall will be up the last week of May…. Hope you come back and read more!!!!

Anyone who knows me knows that I am totally and completely in love with Nicholas Roman.  He is by far one of my most favorite characters of ALL, YES ALL of the books I have read.

ARC Forever Vampire by Michele Hauf

Release day April 19 2011

Vail the Unwanted is a pureblood vampire. But raised in Faery, he has neither home nor peace, and when his aid is sought in the recovery of a priceless diamond gown, his price is information. Specifically the whereabouts of his accursed father. His goal is revenge, and the supernaturally sexy Lyric, the icy blond vampiress with whom he must work, is a distraction he can’t afford.

Outwardly as cold as the diamond dress in which she was kidnapped, Lyric has her own secrets. Desperate to break free from her criminal family, she aligns herself with the brooding Vail. Together they seek justice while each secretly works for freedom and a fresh start. For Lyric that means holding herself apart, even from the smoldering blue-eyed Vail. For Vail, it means a battle to the death for revenge—and for a temptress he can’t deny.

My Summary:
Vail was taken as a baby, as part of a boon (a payment) that had to be paid for a debt from the past, to live in Faery.  Once it is discovered that Vail is a full blooded Vampire, he is taught to hate everything about the outside world and vampires.  After a doing a favor for a friend Vail finds himself banished from Faery, the only home he has ever known, to the mortal world.  Not knowing whom to turn to Vail finds himself seeking out his family, the same family that gave him up as a baby.    Rhys gives Vail a fresh start, a house, a car, the tools he needs for revenge and now a job.  A simple job… find a Vampiress and a dress.
Lyric is so tired of living under her mother’s roof.  She dreams of running away to join the circus or finding a deserted island somewhere. Lyric just wants to start a new life.  So when Lyric’s mother asked her to deliver a dress, she’s not so willing to do it, but agrees anyways, it is too hard to say no to her mother.   Knowing she will be able to get away at least for a little while will be nice.  That is until she finds out what the dress is and who she has to deliver it to.  That is when Lyric panics.  But panic is short lived when one of the windows in her bedroom breaks and she takes a fist to the side of the head….then she blacks out.
Vail’s job is to find the Vampiress and the dress. Turn the Vampiress over to her mother, return the dress to Rhys.  Get the information that he needs about his real father and then kill him.  But everything changes when Vail actually catches Lyric.  There is something about the Vampiress that draws him in.  Vail doesn’t understand, because he has always been taught that Vampires in the mortal world are dirty creatures.  Lyric is the opposite of everything that he was ever taught.

Please met Vail
Michele’s Vision of Vaillant and I think it is PERFECT!!!
Right down to Green Snake (who you meet in the book)

This is how I picture Vail and Lyric

Check out the book trailer for Forever Vampire HERE

My Thoughts:

I have been looking forward to reading this book since I finished Seducing the Vampire.  In Seducing the Vampire we are introduced to Vaillant at the very end of the book.  I won’t tell you too much about Seducing the Vampire, but you can read my review HERE.

I was fortunate to be able to read this book before the release day on April 19th.  I enjoyed this book so very, very much.
The chemistry between Vail and Lyric is hot.  They play off each other so well.  Vail is stubborn to a fault. Vail is such a sweet guy, sexy as hell and is just trying to find his place in a world he knows nothing about.  Lyric is a girl who knows what she wants and now she wants 100% of Vaillant.  And once Vail gets over his fear of the unknown he learns what and who is important to him.
I am hoping that Michele will bring Vail and Lyric back in a future book.  I want to know how these two are doing.  But after talking to Michele she has no plans for them right now. *Crossing my fingers*

GIVEAWAY!!!!!!!!

I have decided that I love Vail so much I want to give away his book.  Well Michele did one better!! Michele is willing to give away a set of books.  These books: Her Vampire Husband, Seducing the Vampire and Forever Vampire.

Improper Nights by Leslie Dicken

When Lenora Blakely learns she must marry a man more than twice her age to pay off her father’s debts, she doesn’t expect his nephew to make her weak at the knees with a brief stroke of his tongue to her palm. Soon, Lord Blackford’s flirtations provide her with a means to experience the pleasure of a lover’s touch before she marries. But what begins as a tempting challenge quickly leads to a series of improper nights filled with overwhelming passion. As the time for her wedding draws near, will Lenora be able to follow through on her promised duty?
My Thoughts:
Lenora is a woman who has always valued her freedom.  But now she is paying for her father’s mistakes.  If she cannot find a way to payback her father’s debt she will be forced to marry.  Lenora is given 14 days to get her affairs in order.  After 14 days she must marry and fulfill the contract that her father signed.
Lord Blackford has shown up just in time to see his uncle married off and then he can claim what is rightfully his.  But all that changes when he meets Lenora and is drawn to her, but knowing that she is to marry his uncle is unsettling.
Lenora and Blackford chemistry is undeniable and with only 14 days until she loses her freedom she plans to take full advantage of them.  Blackford tries to do everything he can to avoid Lenora, but every time he turns around she is there.
Even though this story was short it was filled with so many emotions and yes I cried. The way that Leslie develops this story is wonderful.  Two people, who are drawn together, but know that there is no chance for a future together.  I loved the twists and turns that Leslie put me through with this story.
I would have loved to have this story long just so I could find out more about Lenora and Blackford‘s relationship, how they are doing, what the future holds.  Are they happy?  Maybe Leslie will bring them back in another story.
I have to say a special thank you to Leslie for letting me read this story before you published it.  I hope that in some small tiny way I helped you.   I was so excited to learn that she gave me an acknowledgement in her book… I know what you’re thinking. I was thinking the same thing.  Me?  Little’ol me?  But at least it was me.  Thank you, Leslie.  I hope that my little blog can help spread the word about you and your books
If you want to learn more about Leslie and her books or how to order her books please check out  her WEBSITE.
