BOOK SYNOPSIS:
If you love the Dark Protectors, these wicked hot Realm Enforcers are for you!
Daire Dunne is more than ready to take a quick break from his duties as a Coven Nine Enforcer. When he spots a sexy blonde across a Titan’s of Fire party, it’s not long before she’s on the back of his Harley on the fast track to his apartment. Unfortunately, one overheated kiss in, the woman drugs Daire and steals valuable files that can’t fall into enemy hands. The second he comes to, the hunt is on…

Now that Cee Cee has the information to take down an enemy that destroyed her family, she can implement her perfect plan for revenge. Nothing will stop her, not even a shockingly sexy enforcer barging into her life. Not even the spectacular, fire-branding sex engulfing them. But if Daire ever figures out who her family really is, all bets are off

REVIEW:
4.5 Hearts Book two in Ms. Zanetti’s Realm Enforcers series follows Daire Dunne. The oldest and grumpiest (his words not mine) of the Dunne brothers. Daire has been undercover with his brothers trying to find out who is producing Apollo a drug that is deadly to both humans and witches. But while that should be Daire main focus in life his attention has just be fixated on a petite little blond with a sassy month and a pension for drugging him.
Cee Cee is awesome. She is meek, mild and no one would ever guess the warrior or craziness that lives in her. She is the perfect fit for Daire. Cee Cee challenges Daire every step of the way in this book. And Daire is not known for his patients 🙂 . But I loved these two together. I love seeing how each adapted to the other in order to meet in the middle and get the job done. I loved Cee Cee’s secrets *wiggles eyebrows*. Some of these secrets were shocking and almost ended with a few less head on bodies.
I am really enjoying the Realm Enforcers series and can not wait to see what and who is next. Both Adam and Simone need to go down!!!! I also want to know who, what and why the Coven Nine is targeting Simone. Makes me wonder what secrets she is hiding. Until next time Realm Enforcers!!!!

Winter Romance Wednesday! Kimberly reviews Home For Christmas by Lily Everett

Home for ChristmasTITLE: Home For Christmas
SERIES #: Sanctuary Island #4
CHARACTERS: Libby & Owen
AUTHOR: Lily Everett
PUBLICATION DATE: 10/06/15
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Tis the season for family and love…

At least it’s supposed to be. For Libby Leeds, however, the holiday season is just another reminder of things she’d rather forget. When she left Sanctuary Island as an orphaned child, she never thought she’d go back except in her dreams, dreams she’s kept alive by writing monthly column of her fictional small-town life, until her publisher sends her back home for the holidays.

Owen Shepard is a fallen hero, wounded in action rescuing three of his fellow soldiers, but after a whirlwind of media attention, all this charismatic Army Ranger wants is to get back on his feet and make it to Sanctuary Island to be with his daughter in time for Christmas. What he didn’t expect was to be put on a crash course with a columnist hiding her past. Will the magic of Sanctuary Island at Christmastime allow them to find healing together?

REVIEW:
3.75 Hearts This is a very sweet holiday story. While a bit cliche’ it still brings you a feeling of warm and love while reading.

Owen is a wounded soldier. Libby is a writer who lives more in her imagination than reality and when she is forced to entertain him and his family for the holidays the romance begins.

Like I said the story is good even though typical of holiday romance. The couple of problems I had were the repeating of thoughts over and over. Owen told us at least 20 times how he had to get better to go back in the field. Libby equaled that with how much she didn’t have a loving family.

The one thing I really enjoyed about the story was the first chapter. It really showed the relationship that Libby was having with Owen even though she hadn’t met him yet. She had already started to fall for him just seeing his tv interview and I think we could feel her crush.

If you enjoy a sweet holiday romance you will enjoy this one.

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
In the first thrilling Rogue Winter Novella, sleepy little Solitude, Oregon, wakes up to another deadly threat.

County investigator Seth Harding intends to spend the holidays with his newly reconciled family, but a few days before Christmas, a homicide thwarts his plan. Seth arrives at the scene and makes a painful discovery: the victim is his brother-in-law’s girlfriend. Her apartment has been ransacked and her toddler left motherless. To make matters worse, Seth’s brother-in-law, Bruce, is missing. With Solitude locked in a rare, deadly deep freeze and the temperature plummeting, the residents launch a desperate search.

But when the Taylor farm is also trashed, Seth and Carly must race against time—and against a paralyzing winter storm—to find Bruce and catch a killer in the first pulse-pounding sequel to the Rogue River Novellas.

REVIEW:
4.75 Hearts I was so excited when Ms. Leigh & Ms. Elliot announced that they were going to revisit the small town of Solitude, Oregon. If you have not checked out the first four novella’s in the Rogue River series you should.
In Tracks of Her Tears we get to re-visit Seth & Carly. I loved them the first time around and love them even more after this novella. Seth is back to work and his first case is a murder of a young woman. Sadly, this is a young woman that Seth knows.
This story is full of twists and turns. Just when you think you have it all figured out Ms. Leigh throws another bone at you and your re-think your thinking. Thank you for revisiting this world. It freaks me out a bit how creepy and suspense authors mind works. But I can’t wait to see what is next!!!!!

AUTHOR: Molly Harper
NARRATOR: Amanda Ronconi
RUN TIME: 9 Hours & 33 Minutes
PUBLICATION DATE: October 27, 2015
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | Audible | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
In the next book in Molly Harper’s Half Moon Hollow paranormal romance series, Libby (a widow-turned-vampire) struggles with her transition, and finds out it sucks to be the only vampire member of the PTA…

Widow Libby Stratton arranged to be turned into a vampire after she was diagnosed with late-stage cancer. It wasn’t the best idea she’s ever had, but she was desperate—she’s not about to leave her seven-year-old son to be raised by her rigid, overbearing in-laws.

On top of post-turning transition issues, like being ignored at PTA meetings and other mothers rejecting her son’s invitations for sleepovers, Libby must deal with her father-in-law’s attempts to declare her an unfit mother, her growing feelings for Wade—a tattooed redneck single dad she met while hiding in a closet at Back to School Night—and the return of her sire, who hasn’t stopped thinking about brave, snarky Libby since he turned her.

With the help of her new vampire circle, Libby negotiates this unfamiliar quagmire of legal troubles, parental duties, relationships, and, as always in Harper’s distinct, comedic novels, “characters you can’t help but fall in love with” (RT Book Reviews).

REVIEW:
4.75 Hearts As always Ms. Harper writes a story that sucks you in and makes you run that emotional gauntlet. The combination of Ms. Harper’s witt & amazing storytelling combined with Amanda Conconi’s voice & talent at bring characters to life left me wishing I could move to Half Moon Hollow yet again. This is a winning combo!!!
I always love to visit Half Moon Hollow. I just love this town and the characters. I loved that In The Single Undead Moms Club we get to see how the town folk of HMH deal with the newest vampire in town. Needless to say they didn’t take it very well.
I loved Libby. Libby is such a fun character and she is great with her son. I loved that she wouldn’t let Dick hug her (I was dying laughing, poor Dick). I really liked Wade even when he was being a huge brat about the supply closet. Oh and don’t forget the epic back to school supply showdown. I really like Wade & Libby together. So much so that when I got to the end of the story I looked at my audiobook and yelled “You are not done, keep reading. Amanda why did you stop reading!!!!!”.
Finn, what can I tell you about Finn. Other then he made me really wish I could stab him with a fork.
I really can’t wait to see what is next in this series!!!!

Kimberly reviews Someone To Save You by Paul Pilkington

someone to save youTITLE: Someone To Save You
CHARACTERS: Sam Becker
AUTHOR: Paul Pilkington
PUBLICATION DATE: 11/03/15
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
A car astride the railway track as an express train approaches at high speed. In the front seat, a woman seemingly determined to end her life. In the back, her two young children are oblivious to the impending disaster.

For talented young heart surgeon, Sam Becker, his heroic actions to save the family mark the beginning of a nightmare. A nightmare that will rip open old wounds, bring him face to face with ghosts from the past, and endanger those he cares for the most.

A nightmare linked to the brutal murder of his sister, fifteen years ago.

A fast-paced suspense thriller, Someone to Save You follows in the tradition of writers such as Linwood Barclay, Harlan Coben and Nicci French.

REVIEW:
This is a quick read that isn’t a real brain teaser but at the same time keeps your interest. This is a re-release from recently. I am not sure if it just didn’t do as well as the publisher wanted but it seems weird to re-release already. Now that being said this would make a good quick read for someone who enjoys thrillers without a lot of suspense.

The writing style is a bit different for me. While I enjoy thrillers I want to be absorbed in it and hopefully not figure it out until the end. I can’t say that is what happened with this one and yet I would recommend it. However if you are looking for deep-thinking and edge of your seat suspense this might not be what you want to pick up.

REVIEW:
3.75 Heart The Werewife: What happens when you have an unhappy marriage, then you add in a little furry murder you get a lot of mayhem and two even more unhappy people. This was a fun little story. I was not sure who I liked and disliked more Brad (husband) or Annie (wife). They both were kinda asshats. But I did enjoy the ending. And I want to know more. I want to know what happened to Brad and Annie. Maybe Ms. Wells will revisit these two in the future.
The Bluest Hour: hhmmmm, I am not sure about this one. I was kinda confused as to what was happening. I think I need to re-read this one.

The Deadline: Oh man!!! This story is creepy and I wanted more.I didn’t want this story to be so short. I wanted to know what happens next. I want to know what happens to Sarah.

REVIEW:
3.5 Hearts When I started Ex-Con, Bad Boy Romance I felt like I was reading the movie Pretty Woman, only the roles were reversed. But as the story went on I realized that it was only like the movie in the fact that one was rich and one was not.
I really liked Bobby. Even if he was an Ex-con. He did his time and is trying to be a better person. With a twist of fate Bobby finds himself in the right place at the right time. Even if that means taking a hit over the head from a hand bag.
Carly Prince is Hollywood royalty who just happens to be in the wrong place at the right time. Carly could have never know that here need for some fresh air would lead her to met the man that will forever change her life.
I really enjoyed this story. At every page I was rooting for Bobby and Carly. I wanted Bobby to prove that he is not the cold blooded killer that he thinks he his. As the story goes on we learn more and more about his past. It is heartbreaking, despise everything Bobby turns out to be a pretty good guy.
I am glad that I got this book for review. This is not a normally story that I would have picked up. But I am glad that I did.

REVIEW:
3.75 Hearts In Edge of Danger we get to follow 4 DEA agents who are wrongly accused of a terrorist attack. Not only are the wrongly accused, each had a hit put on them. The four guys all work so well together, but Tucker took the lead and the risk in this book (which I hope means the other boys will get a story *hint, hint*). Tucker is one mean SOB. He has to be for his job, but he doesn’t really like it. So when his team decides that they the help of a certain NSA analyst the set up a nice little meeting with her… Okay no they don’t. They kidnap her 🙂
I loved that Karen is a huge fighter. She out smarts the guys at least once and boy howdy it was funny (Poor Cole). But once she learns the reason behind her being taken she understands what she needs to do. And it doesn’t help that Tucker is really easy on the eyes.
Another really good story from Ms. Reus. I really enjoyed Tucker and Karen’s story. I liked the pace of the story. I really enjoyed the tension between Tucker and Karen. Oh and the closet or and the cabana. So much fun!!! I can’t wait to see what is next!!! I really really hope the Cole is next.

Winter Romance Wednesday! Kimberly reviews Hot Toy by Jennifer Crusie

hot toyTITLE: Hot Toy
CHARACTERS: Trudy & Nolan
AUTHOR: Jennifer Crusie
PUBLICATION DATE: 10/13/15
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Previously published in the anthology Santa, Baby, HOT TOY is now available as a standalone e-story for the first time!

Mayhem ensues under the mistletoe as a determined shopper grabs the very last hot toy action figure off the shelf, only to find herself plunged into the middle of a real-life spy game and in the arms of a sexy secret agent…

REVIEW:
3.25 Hearts This is a short holiday story… sorta. It is about 50 pages and a very quick read. It was part of an anthology that I had not read even though I thought I had read all of Crusie’s books. I had a hard time getting started with this book. First Trudy is a bit well witchy. Nolan seems a bit immature and they didn’t have much chemistry. Then the story takes off a little and then it gets a bit better.

It is set in 2006 over “the toy to have” and back then that would have been a big thing alone but then there is a bit of a spy game going on and who is the bad guy and who is the good guy. If you want a quick read that is set at Christmas time and gives you more of the overload of the holiday than the romance of it than this is a great book…

REVIEW:
Super excited for a new Dragonfury story. I love this world. I mean come on Dragons!!!! While I love this world and am already looking forward to the next story in this series. Fury of a Highland Dragon was a good story and we got a whole new set of Scottish Dragons. I really liked Tydrin, I really liked Ivy this story was average to me.
Don’t get me wrong. Tydrin and Ivy have a great love story. Everything moved really fast (which is fine and happens in novellas) but there was a big part of the story that left questions unanswered. I hope that this means we will get to revisit Tydrin & Ivy again soon in the future.

REVIEW:
4.5 Hearts Dragons…… Need I say more??? Oh I do? Okay thing.. Hawt Smexy Dragons. Is that better? Still no? How about this.
Donna Grant is an amazing story teller. I love this series. Love her dragons. And I even love (to hate) the Dark Fae. And of course I love Rhi. In Passion Ignites we pick up where we left off in Soul Scorched. Thorn is trying to find out where he stand after the events that happened with Darcy and Ulrik. So Thorn throw himself into killing as many Darks as the can. Thankfully he has Darius to keep him company and on the straight and narrow. That is until he notices that human that is tracking the Darks. From the moment he sees her Thorn knows she is going to be a problem for him.
Lexi is out for vengeance. She can see the ones with red eyes. She knows that they are responsible for her friend’s death. What she doesn’t know is just how deadly they are. Thank goodness for the mesmerizing man that comes to her rescue.
As always Ms. Grant writes a story that keeps my fixated, trying to read faster and trying not to miss. I am really excited to see what is next (Darius). I am also very excited for Ms. Grant’s new series about the Reapers.

golem of parisTITLE: The Golem Of Paris
CHARACTERS: Jacob Lev
AUTHOR: Jonathan & Jesse Kellerman
PUBLICATION DATE: 11/03/15
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
From two #1 bestselling masters of crime fiction comes an extraordinary thriller about family, murder, and the secrets that refuse to stay buried.

It’s been more than a year since LAPD detective Jacob Lev learned the remarkable truth about his family, and he’s not coping well. He’s back to drinking, he’s not talking to his father, the LAPD Special Projects Department continues to shadow him, and the memory of a woman named Mai haunts him day and night.

And while Jacob has tried to build a bridge to his mother, she remains a stranger to him, imprisoned inside her own tattered mind.

Then he comes across the file for a gruesome unsolved murder that brings the two halves of his life into startling collision.

Finding the killer will take him halfway around the world, to Paris—the city of romance, but also of gritty streets, behind the lights. It’s a dangerous search for truth that plunges him into the past.

And for Jacob Lev, there is no place more frightening.

Jonathan Kellerman has long been known for his mastery of criminal psychology and his ability to create thrilling novels of nuanced drama and suspense. But in The Golem of Paris , he and Jesse Kellerman raise that suspense to a whole new level.

REVIEW:
This is the second in the series. I did not read the first one but found it wasn’t really necessary even though it may have been helpful.

This story is a bit different than what most are used to but yet is very good. Jacob opens up a cold case that wraps around Jewish lore, paranormal experiences and medical experimentation. It seemed very dark to me and yet it kept me interested.

I found the characters to be very well written and the writing styles of Jonathan and Jesse Kellerman meshed very well. I guess that is to be expected since they are father and son.

The next story should be very interesting as well.
