Kimberly reviews The Night Is Forever by Heather Graham

Night Is ForeverTITLE: The Night Is Forever
SERIES #: Krewe Of Hunters #11
CHARACTERS: Olivia & Dustin
AUTHOR: Heather Graham
PUBLICATION DATE: 09/24/13
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
What happened here, on a historic ranch outside Nashville, during the Civil War? And what’s happening now?

Olivia Gordon works at the Horse Farm, a facility that assists patients with mental and physical recovery; her specialty is animal therapy. She’s always loved her job, always felt safe…until now.

People are dying, starting with the facility’s founder, whose body is discovered in a ravine on the property-site of a massacre in 1862. And before every death, Liv sees a horse and rider, wearing a soldier’s garb, in the night sky…. Warning? Omen? Or clue?

Liv calls in her cousin Malachi and his Krewe, an FBI unit of paranormal investigators, to discover the truth. New Krewe member Dustin Blake knows they need Liv’s involvement in the case, yet he’s worried about her safety. Because he and Liv quickly become more than colleagues…and he doesn’t want to lose her to the endless night.

REVIEW:
Another great ghost story from Heather Graham. She is the queen of ghostly romance if you ask me. But what i enjoy best about her writing is the history she puts in. By the time you are done with her books you want to visit the site and take a ghost tour yourself and this was not different.

I was unsure about the romance of Dustin and Olivia at first. I think Graham has been putting a bit too much tension (non-sexual) into her main characters lately and this had that too. The characters while attracted to each other didn’t have an immediate spark but as the story moves on of course the spark lights up.

There was a number of ghost in this story which I was glad to see. Again lately Graham has not had as many ghostly encounters in her books.. yes there are ghost just not as many scenes with them but this one had a couple of good ones and I enjoyed that.

If you love a ghost story and a romance then you can not beat the way that Graham brings her stories together.

Dead sexy DragonTITLE: Dead Sexy Dragon

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
The last thing dragon shifter Stig Wyvern needs is his dead friend’s kid sister showing up on his doorstep. He’s just minutes away from entering a mating phase. Sharing his isolated house with the young woman he’s desperately lusted after for quite some time is a recipe for disaster.

But Cora Cardenas has nowhere else to go. She’s in deep trouble with some really nasty people and Stig is the only one who can protect her. That he’s deliciously sexy and makes her tingle with the simplest of smiles is just a bonus.

Cora quickly realizes Stig is hiding something from her. To make matters worse, she’s plagued with breathtakingly naughty dreams starring a shadowed lover who bears a startling resemblance to her host. And just what the hell is going on down in the basement at night?

Stig needs to get Cora out of his house but his inner beast has other ideas. He’s found his mate and she’s not going anywhere.

REVIEW:
This is a very short story of only about 70 pages but the story is interesting. I honestly have never read a shape shifter book about a dragon so this was a different kind of story for me and I found I enjoyed it.

The writing is well done and the story is complete. The sex scenes are written well too and not overwritten. I look forward to the next in the series.

AUTHOR: Sara Humpreys
PUBLICATION DATE: 08/06/13

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
The last person Olivia Hollingsworth expected to see at her Greenwich Village vampire club was her one true love, Doug Paxton—whom she believed to be dead for centuries. Olivia thought she had moved on, but when Doug reappears, her heart knows she’d rather die than lose him again.

Ever since Doug can remember, a red-haired siren has haunted his dreams. He never thought she could be real until he goes to investigate a murder at Olivia’s night club. However, as the bodies keep piling up at her feet, he must fight to prove her innocence—even if it costs him his life.

REVIEW:
3.5 Stars Well this was not one of my favorite vampire romance stories but it was good. The writing is good if not a little wordy. I enjoyed the suspense of the story and honestly had not considered the person who it ended up being. I did enjoy that this was not your typical vampire romance.

The problem I had was the characters had little chemistry and there were a bunch of liberties taken with what we know as vampire legend. Something was just of about this story but I can’t really say what it is.

Book Spotlight: Scorched by Mari Mancusi

scorched

Scorched is the first book in the amazing new trilogy by Mari Mancusi and I made the mistake of starting this book right before bedtime.  I got so wrapped up in its storyline that I couldn’t wait to see what happened next.

Sixteen-year-old Trinity Foxx is used to her grandfather’s crazy stories, so she never believed the latest treasure he brought home was a real dragon’s egg. Not until their home is invaded by soldiers trying to steal it and a strange boy who tells her the world as she knows it will be wiped out in a fiery dragon war—unless they work together to stop it.

Meantime, there’s a different voice whispering to Trinity, calling to her, telling her what to do…the dragon inside her egg is not ready to give up without a fight.

About the Author:

marimancusiMari Mancusi always wanted a dragon as a pet. Unfortunately the fire insurance premiums proved a bit too large and her house a bit too small–so she chose to write about them instead. Today she works as an award-winning young adult author and freelance television producer, for which she has won two Emmys.

When not writing about fanciful creatures of myth and legend, Mari enjoys goth clubbing, cosplay, watching cheesy (and scary) horror movies, and her favorite guilty pleasure—playing videogames. A graduate of Boston University, she lives in Austin, Texas with her husband Jacob, daughter Avalon, and their dog Mesquite.

Jennifer’s Review of Scorched

TITLE: Scorched

CHARACTERS: Trinity Foxx, Connor and Caleb

AUTHOR:  Mari Mancusi

PUBLICATION DATE:  09/03/13

ORDER LINKS:  Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:

Trinity–Don’t leave me here… It starts with a whisper. At first Trinity thinks she’s going crazy. It wouldn’t be a big surprise—her grandpa firmly believes there’s a genuine dragon egg in their dusty little West Texas town. But this voice is real, and it’s begging for her protection. Even if no one else can hear it…

Connor
He’s come from a future scorched by dragonfire. His mission: Find the girl. Destroy the egg. Save the world.

Caleb
He’s everything his twin brother Connor hates: cocky, undisciplined, and obsessed with saving dragons.

Trinity has no idea which brother to believe. All she has to go by is the voice in her head—a dragon that won’t be tamed.

REVIEW PROVIDED BY: Jennifer            NUMBER OF STARS: Five Stars

REVIEW: Scorched was an amazing thrill-ride in an exciting new world where dragons are the way of the future.  Trinity Foxx is trying to hold everything together since her mother’s death two years ago and has been living with her grandfather while working at his roadside museum.  Money is tight and Trinity can’t wait until Christmas when she can open her beloved video game that is sitting under the tree.  Her grandfather comes home on Christmas Eve with a new exhibit for the failing museum.  A beautiful dragon egg from Antarctica that her grandfather had purchased with the last remaining money that was supposed to pay the property taxes on their house.  Trinity’s life is about to change with this beautiful new object, a destiny that will change the world and only she and a handsome young man from the future can stop the end of days.

I loved this book and I can’t tell you how much I loved this story!  I made the mistake of starting this book right before bed and I couldn’t stop reading until midnight.  The story is action-packed with enough twists and turns that will make you read one more chapter to see what happens next.  Trinity was a great character who seemed so much older than her teenage years.  She was trying desperately to hold everything together by managing the money for her flighty grandfather and being one step away from being homeless.  When Connor came into her life, I liked that even though she was presented with all this information about the future, HER future, she didn’t freak out.  It showed what a strong person she was and she would do anything to prevent this destructive future from happening.

I really liked Connor.  He came from the future to the past to prevent Trinity and her new dragon from creating an apocalyptic future.  He reminded me a lot of Kyle from Terminator.  A man coming from the future to change the past and falling in love with the girl with the power to make it right.  That was what endeared me to this book because of some of the similarities and the fantasy aspect of a world with dragons.  This was a great read for me and I can’t wait to read Shattered, the second book in the trilogy, out next year.

REVIEW:
3.75 Stars Ryon’s gift of seeing spirits has always been troublesome for him. But when Daria’s spirit calls out for help Ryon can not just sit there and do nothing. He has to save her. He is not totally sure why just yet, and of course Nick is not saying, but Ryon knows he has to reach her before it is too late and save her by any means necessary. Even if that means by taking this chance might mean he could lose everything.

Hunter’s Heart opens up more questions than it gives answers to what really happened to the Alpha Pack the night they were attacked. But they do learn that it was not random. That it was a carefully executed plan of attack. And Daria’s uncle was one of the top rink leaders.

I really enjoyed Ryon & Daria’s story. I always love a visit to the Alpha Pack and really can’t wait to see what JD has in store for the Pack next.

Interview with Cassie Alexander

shapeshifted

I have been a big fan of Cassie Alexander for a while because her books are great supernatural thrillers that are set in an environment that I know all too well.  Her new release, Shapeshifted, is out and is one of my favorite books at the moment.  I’m very glad that she took time out of her busy schedule to be with us here today.

1. Tell me about your new release Shapeshifted.

Shapeshifted is Edie Spence’s third adventure.  Edie’s a nurse for the supernatural community in her home town, on a secret floor at the county hospital.  At the end of Moonshifted she was shunned by the supernatural community, which she thought was a good thing–she’s human, and hanging out with vampires and werewolves wasn’t very safe for her.  But in hanging out with vampires and werewolves wasn’t very safe for her.  But in Shapeshifted she discovers that her mother’s ill. The only thing that can save her is vampire blood, and so Edie finds herself desperate to get back in with old “friends.”

2. Where did you come up with the idea for the series?

The idea for Nightshifted came to me in my first few months working as a new nurse on nightshift.  Work was terrifying,  I spent a lot of my time freaking out that I was going to kill someone on accident or piss of an important coworker or doctor.  Nightshifted was born out of my efforts to stay sane during the transition,  from panicked newbie to, well, whatever it is that I am now, five years in.

3. What kind of research did you have to do for this series?

Not much, really! All the hospital/medical stuff is kinda-sorta pulled from my own life (waves HIPPA invisibility wand, although it’s not like I’ve ever treated vampire servants anyhow…that I know of! ;)) and everything else flows from there.

4. Do you still work the night shift and how do you find time to write with such a busy schedule?

I do still work nights, but I’m only part-time, so it’s only three nights a week–there’s no way I could work full-time nights and write two books a year.  It’s hard though, there’s still a lot of juggling to make everything work out.

5. What are you working on now?

Right now I’m working on a proposal for books 6 & 7, and also unpacking, since I just moved 😉

6.  Which authors have inspired you?

Argh, all my books are in boxes right now, so I can’t cheat and look at a bookshelf! Early inspirations were Frank Herbert and Alfred Bester.  More recent ones are Seanan McGuire and Diana Rowland and Kat Richardson 😀

7. Any advice for aspiring writers?

Keep at it! Nightshifted was the tenth book that I’d written, it took a long time (longer than I’d have liked! ;)) to get good.  Try to find what works for you, writing-schedule-wise, and do what you can do but don’t beat yourself up – if you have a bad day, or a no word day, keep pressing on and don’t look back.

SERIES #: Edie Spence #3

PUBLICATION DATE:  06/04/13

BOOK SYNOPSIS: Nurse Edie Spence is once again called upon to save a life…and this time, it’s personal. Can her new community of zombies, vampires, and shapeshifters come to her rescue when she needs them most?

When Edie was fired from her paranormal nursing job at County Hospital, her whole world came crashing down.  Now she’s once again shaken to her core. Her mother is deathly ill and there’s only one thing that will save her: vampire’s blood. But with the paranormal community shunning Edie, where can she obtain it…without losing her own life in the process?

Edie hopes to procure it at her new job at the clinic across town, where the forces of evil loom large.  Vampire gang wars are rampant. Old underground enemies are rising to the surface. And Edie’s zombie ex-boyfriend has arrived at the scene–but is he the same man he used to be? And what should she make of the enigmatic doctor with whom she shares an unexpected connection?  She’ll have to figure it out soon, because all hell is about to break loose–literally–and time is running out…..

REVIEW PROVIDED BY: Jennifer             NUMBER OF STARS: Four Stars

REVIEW: This is the third novel in the Edie Spence series and I liked how Edie was struggling to find her identity since she was no longer employed by the Shadows and was shunned by the paranormal community.  Edie finds that being “normal” wasn’t exactly what she was hoping for and takes a job at a health clinic in the seedy part of town.  With gang members threatening the clinic at every turn and her own desperate search for vampire’s blood to save her mother looking dismal, Edie doesn’t know where to go.  But Edie soon learns that being shunned doesn’t protect her from old enemies and her new position has put her in more danger than she bargained for.

After reading Moonshifted, I wasn’t sure what was next for Edie and I’m glad to see that she had decided to change a few things since we last saw her.  She has a brand new job and a new apartment that was far away from the paranormal community but instead of feeling safe, Edie was just feeling that her life was boring since leaving the hospital. She soon finds out that her mother is sick with cancer and Edie has no way to help since she isn’t working for the Shadows anymore.  I liked seeing this side of Edie where she was vulnerable with no one to really fall back on.  She seemed to grow more as a character in this one and I was very impressed.  The story was well-written with a dark sense of humor that is a great addition to the series.  I liked learning more about past characters that made a guest appearance in Shapeshifted and can’t wait to read more about Edie in the next book, Deadshifted.

SERIES #: Iron Druid Chronicles #6
CHARACTERS: Atticus O’Sullivan, Granuaile, & Oberon
AUTHOR: Kevin Hearne
PUBLICATION DATE: June 25, 2013
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
For a two-thousand-year-old Druid, Atticus O’Sullivan is a pretty fast runner. Good thing, because he’s being chased by not one but two goddesses of the hunt—Artemis and Diana—for messing with one of their own. Dodging their slings and arrows, Atticus, Granuaile, and his wolfhound Oberon are making a mad dash across modern-day Europe to seek help from a friend of the Tuatha Dé Danann. His usual magical option of shifting planes is blocked, so instead of playing hide-and-seek, the game plan is . . . run like hell.

Crashing the pantheon marathon is the Norse god Loki. Killing Atticus is the only loose end he needs to tie up before unleashing Ragnarok—AKA the Apocalypse. Atticus and Granuaile have to outfox the Olympians and contain the god of mischief if they want to go on living—and still have a world to live in.

REVIEW:
4.5 Stars Another epic journey with Atticus, Granuaile & Oberon. I really don’t even know where to start. I just love this series dearly!! If you have not read books 1-5 stop here. This is a series that you really really really have to read in order. There is so much that goes on in one book that leads into the next. So if you have not read yet. Stop go back and pick up Hounded (bk1) and start there.

*
*
Atticus, Granuaile & Oberon find themselves still on the run. But this time getting away is going to be difficult. All of Atticus’ normal escape routes have been cut off. Ever the resourceful Druids, Atticus & Granuaile will find a way.
I don’t want to go to much into this review, because I am sure I would give away to much stuff. So let’s just say: It is an epic race that will test all of Atticus and Granuaile’s skills, their relationship and their faith in the Gods.
I seriously am in love with this series. Everything about Kevin’s books I find utterly amazing. These are stories that I have to keep turning the page, lay away thinking about the next chapter, or find myself reading at work when I should be you know working. Just love them!! If you have not started this series yet I would highly recommend that you put them on your list. But as I said before they really need to be read in order So start with book one Hounded!

Blurred

TITLE: Blurred
SERIES #: Kissed By Death #2
CHARACTERS: Cash, Anaya
AUTHOR: Tara Fuller
PUBLICATION DATE: 07/02/13
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS: Cash is haunted by things. Hungry, hollow things. They only leave him alone when Heaven’s beautiful reaper, Anaya, is around. Cash has always been good with girls, but Anaya isn’t like the others. She’s dead. And with his deteriorating health, Cash might soon be as well.

Anaya never breaks the rules, but the night of the fire, she recognized part of Cash’s soul–and doomed him to something worse than death. Cash’s soul now resides in an expired body, making him a shadow walker, a rare, coveted being that can walk between worlds. A being creatures of the underworld would do anything to get their hands on.

The lines between life and death are blurring, and Anaya and Cash find themselves falling helplessly over the edge. Trapped in a world where the living don’t belong, can Cash make it out alive?

REVIEW: I’m sad to admit that I haven’t read Inbetween, the first novel in this series but that didn’t stop me from picking up Blurred. I instantly liked Cash from the very beginning and understood his frustration about his current situation. He was chosen to stay in his current body because he is “special” to the higher powers that be and Anaya was meant to watch over him until his time was truly up. He was meant to serve a higher purpose but darker forces wanted to get their hands on him first and Cash didn’t really know who he could trust. I adored Cash and Anaya together as a couple because they just seemed to fit together. They had this intense connection that neither of them could understand or deny. Whenever she was around Cash, he just instantly felt at ease, even when his life felt like it was falling apart around him. She also started having feelings for Cash and was afraid to act on those feelings because she felt that she was betraying someone that she loved in the past. Their love story was heartbreaking because they knew they could never be together but couldn’t fight their strong feelings for one another.

The ending of this book just about killed me because it showed what two people would do for love even if it meant sacrificing everything that they’ve worked for. I thought that this was a haunting love story with just the right amount of mystery about Cash’s true identity and tender romance that had me crying at the end. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series from the talented Tara Fuller.

I really, really enjoyed this book. I love Roxanne and Santo. Roxanne is a sweet girl that when push comes to shove will fight till the end to protect what she loves. Santo is fun to read about. He knows what he is, but fights the changes that are taking place. I could go on, but then I would give you spoilers. So I will say you need to put this book on your to be read list for sure.

And I can’t wait to see what happens next to the Love family.

Interview & Tour wide giveaway with Gena Showalter

Books-n-Kisses is excited to have Gena Showalter back on the blog to talk about her newest relesase “Darkest Cravings” book 10 in the Lords of the Underworld series.

gena showalter-3Gena, can you please share with us a little about yourself

I put this question off and put this question off, answering all of the others first LOL  Talk about myself?  Shudder!  Um…I guess I am quirky and driven.  Definitely trying to kick a Vanilla Birthday Cake Oreo habit.   Animal lover.  Wife.  Mom.  (Perhaps here is a good place to mention these facts aren’t in any kind of order of importance.)  Day dreamer.  Split end hunter/slayer.  And forever trying to tame curly hair into something sleek and straight.

Can you share with us your typical writing day.  Is there anything you have to have while writing?

My workday depends on what stage I’ve reached in the writing process.

Rough draft, on time — a chapter a day, six days a week. Usually takes anywhere from two to eight hours a day.

Rough draft, running behind – two chapters a day, six days a week.  Usually takes anywhere from six to twelve hours a day.

Revisions – I work twelve to fourteen hours, six days a week.  (Or, when it’s heavy and on a really tight deadline—like now—seven days a week, from the time I wake up until the time I go to bed.)

Editing – I go over 50-100 pages a day, six days a week, however long that takes.

I start when I wake up, and I go, go, go until I’ve finished the day’s goal.  I do take a break to have lunch and walk my dogs.

Most challenging or rewarding part of writing?

Holding the finished book in my hot little hands…wow.  You never forget the blood, sweat, and tears you pour into the pages, or the struggles, or the time…oh, the time!  Sometimes you spend more time with your characters than your family.  Seeing the finished product is like a dream come true.

Can you please tell us about your latest book “Darkest Cravings” ?LOTU 10 -Drkst CRAVING

My pleasure!

Having endured weeks of torture in the bowels of hell, Kane wants nothing to do with his beautiful rescuer, Josephina Aisling. The half-Fae female threatens to awaken the demon of Disaster inside him—a beast he’s determined to kill, no matter the price.

Josephina is hunted by a brutal enemy—her royal family—and Kane is her only source of protection. He’s also the only male to ever set her aflame, and even he succumbs to the heat. But as they navigate the treacherous world of the Fae, they are forced to make a choice: live apart…or die together.

How did you come with the idea for this story?

Kane has been around for a while now.  As the keeper of Disaster, he’s shown up in almost all of the Lords of the Underworld books.  When I last saw him, he was trapped in hell and being tortured by demons.  I just had to find a way to get him out—and a woman who would be able to put Disaster in his place.  Enter Josephina the Fae.  She grew up in the world of the Fae, where the Lords of the Underworld are like rock stars.  In the beginning, she has a hard time not asking Kane for an autograph (though she’s a bigger fan of Paris and Torin, much to Kane’s chagrin).   She’s an intriguing mix of sassy modern and old world charm, but like Kane, she knows the horrors of disaster.

Can you share with us your current work in progress?

Right now I’m working on revisions for Black and Blue, an Otherworld Assassins novel.  Here’s a little about it:

HE IS EVERY WOMAN’S FANTASY. . .

Corbin Blue is a man of many talents. One of the most powerful otherworlders ever born, he is wealthy, a professional football star, and a legend in the bedroom. But only a select few know he is also a black ops agent…and there is no better killer. When he and his crew are attacked and separated, he’s forced to turn to his boss’s daughter for help―a woman with even more secrets than Blue.

. . .

SHE BECOMES HIS ONLY OBSESSION

Evangaline Black has always been wary, guarded. No man has ever breeched her walls. Until Blue. He has never been denied something he wants, and now, he’s decided he wants her. As he sweeps her into his double life of seduction, intrigue, and danger, he helps her see beyond the darkness of her past. But as an enemy closes in, Blue will have to let Evie go to keep her safe—even though he’d rather die than live without her…

Gotta say, it’s one of my sexier books.  Every time I finish a round of revisions or edits, I have a hard time getting the hero and heroine out of my head.  They stick with me, and it makes it difficult to move on to another project.

Open your book to a random page and read us a few lines.

From Darkest Craving:

“I have to get this blood off me,” he said, “and I want you within reach. So. Like I told you, stay. Please.” He messed with the knobs on the shower until water began to spew. Then he placed his fingers at the waist of his pants, paused, as if trying to decide what to do next. Finally, he exhaled heavily and unfastened the material.

What is in your To Read Pile that you are dying to start or upcoming release you can’t wait for?

MacRieve by Kresley Cole.  I happen to be one blessed girl and landed an advanced copy.  Oh, my goodness, this book!  Kresley has outdone herself!  I loved every word, every scene, every character.  Some of my favorite things about it: how twisted MacRieve is due to a childhood trauma, the bond between MacRieve and his twin brother–I think everyone craves a relationship like that—and MacRieve’s alpha protectiveness toward the heroine, Chloe…talk about toe curling!  Seriously.  This book is not to be missed!

Is there anything else you would like to add?

One of my favorite things to do is name some of my favorite authors, in case readers are looking for someone to read.  You can’t go wrong with: Jill Monroe, Kresely Cole, Roxanne St. Claire, Katie McGarry, Kait Ballenger, Louisa Edwards, Kristen Painter, Karen Marie Moning, Larissa Ione, and Nalini Singh.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.  If you could please make sure to include links to your Website, Facebook page, Twitter account or Goodread’s page I will make sure to include them in the post.  If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me.

Thanks so much for having me!

Moonlight Blog Tour Interview & Giveaway with Lisa Kessler

moonlight-bt

Today we have the amazingly talented Lisa Kessler with us to discuss her new book, Moonlight.  It has sexy werewolves, jaguar shifters, and a hot steamy romance that definitely shouldn’t be missed.

1. Tell me about your new release.
Moonlight is the first book in the Moon Series. I have 8 books planned for the series, so I sure hope readers jump on board so I can get them all out… 🙂

2. I absolutely love werewolves. Where did you come with the idea for this book?

Moonlight actually started from a short story I wrote when I was taking up Ray Bradbury’s challenge to write 52 stories in 52 weeks. I wrote a story very similar to the first chapter of the book and couldn’t let it rest.  It felt like West Side Story with werewolves and jaguars, like a very deadly Romeo and Juliet kind of thing and I couldn’t stop wondering about what would happen to them. The book was done about six months later!

3. Do you have any actors that you envision when writing your characters?

Often I do… And then I load up Pinterest boards so I can pull it up while I’m writing to help inspire me…  Here’s the board for Moonlight: http://pinterest.com/ldydisney/scenes-from-moonlight/

4. How many books do you plan to write in this series?

Hee! I answered it above, but there will be 8 books… I hope! My publisher has contracted the first 3 so far. Hunter’s Moon will be out in October and Blood Moon is coming in July 2014. Woot!

5. What is your favorite book at the moment?

Oh that’s like choosing my favorite child!  Yikes! LOL It’s usually whichever book I’m currently working on at the moment… Right now I’m writing the final book in my Night Series and the hero and heroine have lots of chemistry so I’m really enjoying writing it! 🙂

6. What advice would you give aspiring writers?

Write short stories and lots of them. Ray Bradbury knew what he was talking about when he told me it was the best way to improve your writing. Learn to feel a story arc of beginning-middle-end and then use it with your book chapters and you’ll finish your novel…  Never stop writing!

Thank you so much for answering my questions.  I am so excited for this series!

I hope you enjoy the book!  Moonlight was a thrill to write!  Thanks for the blog spot and all your support for my books!

Jennifer’s Review of Moonlight

SERIES #: The Moon Series #1

CHARACTERS: Lana Turpin and Adam Sloan

AUTHOR:  Lisa Kessler

PUBLICATION DATE:  07/15/13

ORDER LINKS:  Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS: Rancher Adam Sloan is more than meets the eye.  As the heir to his Pack, the sexy werewolf’s biggest challenge is keeping his kin’s true nature under wraps.  But a group of jaguar shifters threatens to reveal the pack, blasting into town killing humans in plain sight.  And when he smells one at the local diner, his standing orders are to take her out.

Lana Turpin doesn’t realize she’s a moving target.  Raised in the foster system, she only knows that she blacks out during the new moon and wakes up without remembering a thing.  But now she’s being tracked by some strange organization that wants her back–even though she’s never stepped foot inside their compound.  And the stranger across the diner is watching her like an enemy.

It should be simple mission for Adam, but when he touches the frustratingly beautiful Lana, his inner wolf howls…mate.  Now, the two must find and stop the people who hunt her…and Adam must keep his own family from killing the only woman he will ever love.

REVIEW PROVIDED BY: Jennifer             NUMBER OF STARS: Five Stars

REVIEW: I absolutely loved everything about this book!  Lana was such a great character because she was a very tough lady who was smart enough to take care of herself when she didn’t understand why she was a target for this strange group.  She had always stayed under the radar as a writer but was trying to get to the bottom of why she was having these mysterious blackouts once a month.  Because of these blackouts, she finds herself on the run and directly into the path of Adam Sloan.

Adam is a werewolf who is destined to be the alpha of his pack and is on a mission to hunt down the jaguar shifters that are killing people in his town.  When he meets Lana, at the local diner, his whole world turns upside down with one touch of her hand.  Now, he will do whatever is necessary to protect Lana from the clutches of the Nero corporation and the members of his own pack.  Adam was such a sexy werewolf with his black boots, dark hair and green eyes, that I couldn’t help but envy Lana for getting together with him. Their relationship wasn’t the easiest but I could definitely see how much they cared about each other and how they did their best to protect one another from harm. I enjoyed their scenes together because they had this great romantic chemistry and the sex scenes were definitely hot and steamy.

Moonlight is an exciting thrill ride that will have you on the edge of your seat and Lisa Kessler has created such an engaging story with characters that literally jump off the page.  I am so excited for her next novel in the series, Hunter’s Moon, which is out later this year so I can meet up with these characters once again.
