make me lose controlTITLE: Make Me Lose Control
SERIES #: Cabin Fever #2
CHARACTERS: Shay & Jace
AUTHOR: Christie Ridgway
PUBLICATION DATE: 12/30/14
ORDER LINKS:Amazon| B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
USA Today bestselling author Christie Ridgway returns to Blue Arrow Lake with the dazzling story of opposites attracting in the rustic mountains of California.

As live-in tutor to a headstrong teen, Shay Walker has her hands full—and the girl’s absentee father doesn’t help matters, either. All Shay wants is to let loose and indulge in a birthday fling with the hottest stranger who’s ever caught her eye. But her one-night stand turns out to be Jace Jennings, her student’s long-distance dad…and now he’s taking up residence—at his lakeside estate and in Shay’s most secret fantasies.

Jace isn’t exactly a family man, but he’s determined to do his best by his daughter—and the first step is forgetting how hot he is for her teacher. But close proximity and their heated connection keeps Shay at the forefront of his mind—even as it’s obvious she holds her heart in check. So does Jace. Until they both realize that losing control just might mean finding forever.

REVIEW:
4.25 Hearts So many romances have the broken hero/heroine who has dealt with so much in their past and they are working at moving beyond. Well this has the heroine doing the same but the difference is most of this is in her own mind. Shay sees herself as an outsider in her own family because her mom had an affair and she does not share the same father as the others but the family doesn’t see her this way at all but Shay can’t get past it. She also blames herself for her dad’s death but again no one else does. These are both in her own mind and heart. So how does she get past something that no one else can understand?

Jace had a bad childhood himself. Mostly his dad never taught him how to love. So when he spends 10 years away from his daughter and then needs to come back into her life he doesn’t know how. And really doesn’t know how to understand Shay and his feeling for her. And then there is London who is dealing with her own issues as a 15 year old girl and her first crush.

I enjoyed this story very much. I liked the way the characters were written. I enjoyed the family in the background. Seeing Ryan and Poppy from the first book in the series was great too. I really enjoyed the epilogue. You do not need to have read the first in the series but you will know you missed their story but it will not take away from this one. I have read all of Ridgway’s books and this one ranks really high for me. You will enjoy it if you give it a try.

Kelly & Kimberly review Blood Assassin by Alexandra Ivy

blood assassinTITLE: Blood Assassin
SERIES #: The Sentinels
CHARACTERS: Fane & Serra
AUTHOR: Alexandra Ivy
PUBLICATION DATE: December 30, 2014
ORDER LINKS:Amazon| B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
They are the outcasts of humanity. Blessed with power. Cursed by fate. Driven by passion. The Sentinels have returned. . .

Out Of The Shadows

At six-foot-three and two-hundred-fifty pounds, Fane is a natural born guardian. A flawless mix of muscled perfection and steely precision, he has devoted years of his life to protecting a beautiful necromancer. But after she found love in the arms of another, Fane has been a warrior adrift. He swears allegiance only to the Sentinels. And no woman will ever rule his heart again. . .

Into The Fire

Not only a powerful psychic, Serra is that rare telepath who can connect to minds through objects. When the daughter of a high-blood businessman is kidnapped, Serra agrees to help. But when she stumbles onto a conspiracy involving secrets sects and ancient relics, her life is in mortal danger–and Fane is her only hope. Is the warrior willing to risk his body, his soul, and his heart, for Serra? Or will one last betrayal destroy them both?

KELLY’S REVIEW:
3.75 Hearts Another good book in Ms. Ivy’s ‘The Sentinels’ series. Really like Fane & Serra relationship and I enjoyed the story for the most part. But it was a bite of a cat and mouse game for most of the book. It seems that Fane & Serra were never going to solve the mystery of who kidnapped Molly.

Not sure I like Bas at all, but was willing to do anything to keep Molly safe. So I guess you could like that about him. As the story went on I found myself liking him just a little bit more and in the epilogue I almost cried. Poor Bas.

Lana (The Mave) and Wolfe were a nice little side story. Really like Lana & Wolfe, I hope these two become an item.

Overall this book was a tad bit different then book one but it was still good. Blood Assassin added a new element to the Sentinel world. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

KIMBERLY’S REVIEW:
3.5 Hearts Ok so here is the thing. I enjoyed this story for the most part but some things about it just didn’t add up. First the good. I enjoyed the connection between Fane and Serra. Even from the last book we knew they were attracted to each other and Fane was holding off so it was great to see them come together. Bas… well Bas is an interesting character who at first seemed like a jerk and then we realize he is just a dad wanting his baby back (that is in the synopsis so it is not a spoiler) so you give him some slack because come on what dad wouldn’t go to any lengths they had available to get his baby back? And the Mave and Wolfe. Well lets just say they need their own story or at least a novella.

But now the other side of things. First Fane does a 180 so quickly that it makes his “no Serra rule” just seem crazy. I mean he is alone with her for 2 seconds and all of a sudden he realizes he can’t live without her? And here is Serra’s dream coming true after everything and she just says “ok sure no problem”? I mean wouldn’t she question his turn? Ok maybe she does for a moment but not too long. Then the baby kidnapping story goes on wayyyyyy too long. I mean sheesh we didn’t need a walk through of every house that Serra needed to look for Molly at. Then I can’t even tell you how many times this Sentinel and psychic screw up. How many times they let someone get the jump on them or the “psychic” doesn’t see what is going on. I mean sheesh it is like they left Valhalla and lost their strengths. And finally the cover is just terrible. Yeah I know that had nothing to do with the storyline but it has to be said. Who designed that cover? Neither one of the characters look good.

Ok so yes there is a bunch just not right with this story but all in all it is a good story. It leads us to the next book which is Bas’ story and that sounds like it might be interesting. Am I jumping up and down over this story? No but I am looking forward to continuing the series.

Kimberly reviews Diamonds and Toads: A Modern Fairy Tale by KE Saxon

Diamonds & ToadsTITLE: Diamonds and Toads: A Modern Fairy Tale
CHARACTERS: Delilah & Isadora
AUTHOR: K.E. Saxon
PUBLICATION DATE: 09/23/11
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Together, sweet Delilah and wicked Isadora make the perfect woman. But the Perrault family fairy is a troublemaker and imbues diamonds upon one sister and toads upon the other. Now up is down and down is up in a world where no good deed goes unpunished. Leather, blindfolds, and handcuffs purge sweet of all reserve. A few misspoken words of lust gives wicked a whole new meaning.

Once upon a time, there were two sisters, one cursed and one blessed by fairy magic…

Bibbidee-bobbidi-boo, They’re naughty. How about you?

REVIEW:
OK I do not know what I expected from this book but it certainly wasn’t this… First this book is set in two parts: Delilah’s story and Isadora’s story. I enjoyed Delilah’s but not so much of Isadora’s. And not sure why they had to throw in the stereo-typical wicked stepmother. It is a short read so I will not say too much about it except in a strange way I enjoyed it but not a lot.

Kelly & Kimberly review Marked by Rebecca Zanetti

markedTITLE: Marked
SERIES #: Dark Protectors #7
CHARACTERS: Zane Kyllwood & Janie Kayrs
AUTHOR: Rebecca Zanetti
PUBLICATION DATE: December 22, 2014
ORDER LINKS: Amazon| B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Janie Kayrs has known Zane almost her whole life. He was her friend in the dream world. She trusted him. But that was before he kidnapped her, spiriting her away to an isolated cabin to learn what her dreams never told her. Like how dangerous he looks. How he got on the wrong side of the negotiating table. And how much sexier he is in real life…

Zane is a battle-hardened warrior, used to command and solitude. But Janie has drawn him from the minute they met. His need for her could destroy everything he’s worked for, but the risk is too sweet not to take it. They call her the Chosen One. But when it comes down to the questions of peace or war, life or death, safety or passion, it will be Janie who makes the choice

KELLY’S REVIEW:
Where to begin?
Where to begin?
Sometimes when you love a books reviews are so easy to write. And sometimes when you love a book a spoiler free reviews is beyond difficult to write. That is my dilemma right now.
I loved loved loved MARKED. If you have not read this series yet. You really need to start with book one. Each book is it’s own story but there is a running story and if you read MARKED without reading the rest of the series you will not be a happy camper.

Now for my review.
It would be so easy to reveal so much in my review. SO very very easy. So here goes a hopefully spoiler free review.
Zane is not who you think he is and to be honest I was a little mad at him.
Janie plays a very important role.
Kalin plays a very dangerous game with very dangerous people.
Everyone and everything that Janie loves will be in jeopardy.
Everyone learns that sometimes you can fight fate.
And the only thing that can save them all is a little hope.

KIMBERLY’S REVIEW:
This is the 7th in the series and trust me you can not jump right in and read this as a stand alone… Oh no! Do not do that. You NEED to read these from start to finish (oh what am I saying? I hope this series never ends.)

Now about this specific book. WOW. Ok did that tell you enough? Ok then how about DOUBLE WOW! Well this is probably my favorite of the series so far. Zane and Janie just have a chemistry and sex appeal together that makes them amazing to read about.

Rebecca Zanetti is one of my favorite paranormal authors. She writes in a way that drags you in the moment she writes the first paragraph but with Janie and Zane we have been waiting for what seems like forever. And I was not disappointed. And neither will you be.

Kelly & Kimberly review Revenant by Larissa Ione

revenantTITLE: Revenant
SERIES #: Demonica #11 /Lords of Deliverance #6
CHARACTERS: Revenant & Blaspheme
AUTHOR: Larissa Ione
PUBLICATION DATE: December 16, 2014
ORDER LINKS:Amazon| B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
HELL HATH NO FURY . . .

For five thousand years, Revenant believed he was alone in the world, a fallen angel beyond any redemption. Now he finds he has a twin brother who had all the light and love Revenant was denied. Caught in a tug of war between Heaven and Hell, he must weigh his thirst for revenge against his desire for a mysterious female named Blaspheme—a female whose very origins could deliver him into salvation . . . or destruction.

LIKE AN ANGEL SCORNED

Blaspheme has a deadly secret: she’s the forbidden offspring of an angel and a fallen angel. Hunted by both heavenly and satanic forces, she has survived only by laying low and trusting no one. When Revenant claims he can save them both, how can she possibly believe him? But the powerful angel is persistence incarnate and for Blaspheme, there’s no place she can hide in Heaven or Hell where he won’t find her .

KELLY’S REVIEW:
5 Hearts If you have not read Reaver. Please stop here. You can’t understand Revenant without knowing what happened in Reaver’s book. That was your warning.

Revenant is a very complicated creature. In ways he reminds me a lot of Wraith (if you have not read Wraith’s book you need to). I can’t blame Revenant at all for how he feels or how he reacts. The poor guys has literally been through Hell. You can’t not root for him. Revenant is also his own worst enemy. But sometimes taking a leap of faith is the only thing you can do when you are at the end of your rope.

Blaspheme is saucy. I really like her. She gives Revenant a run for his money every step of the way. But Blas has her own set of issues that she is dealing with. Issues that if it gets out could mean her death. Blas will soon learn that trust is an important tool that she can’t live without. Only question is who can she really trust with her secret.

Oh man! I honestly can not get over the fact of how much I love Larissa Ione and her Demonica series. My only issue with this book is that I read it way too fast and wanted more. More Revenant, more Blaspheme, more sexy time, more of everything and everyone in the Demonica/Lords of Deliverance world.

It will truly be a very sad day when she writes the final chapter in this series. Let hope that the characters of the Demonica world keep invading her thoughts for year and years to come. I am already looking forward to Hades’ story which will be out in 2015 as part of the 1001 Dark Nights. Until then, you need to go get catch up on this series.

KIMBERLY’S REVIEW:
5 Hearts Holy Crackers!
Honestly what more is there to say about a Larissa Ione book? I mean the woman can write no wrong. She brings you right into her world in the matter of a few words.

First on Blaspheme. Is it weird that I want her as a friend even though she is from another world? She has secrets but something about her calls to the reader and you want to be there for her. Now Revenant. What a messed up creature he is but yet you find yourself rooting for him every step of the way. He has been through so much. He is complicated and yet so damn sexy.

I am not sure I have ever found a book that Ione has written that didn’t have me mesmerized and engrossed. The way Ione writes makes her the queen of all paranormal if you ask me. It doesn’t matter if she wrote about the phone book I would be right there to pick it up. If you are a fan of the paranormal genre and already love Ione’s books then this will be no exception. If you are a paranormal fan and have not read her books yet then what the heck are you waiting for?

Lastly a warning. You need to read Ione’s book Reaver first. There is just too much connected. But really why haven’t you read Reaver? Heck why haven’t you read the entire series?

Kimberly reviews Want It by Jennifer Chance

want itTITLE: Want It
SERIES #: Rule Breakers #3
CHARACTERS: Erin & Zander
AUTHOR: Jennifer Chance
PUBLICATION DATE: 12/09/14
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
In the latest tantalizing Rule Breakers novel from Jennifer Chance, an irresistible alpha male follows his ex into a deadly standoff—and reignites a heated affair.

For Erin Connelly, being a good girl isn’t such a bad thing. She’s working her dream job at a Boston art gallery and staying out of trouble, which is more than she can say for her deadbeat mom. Unfortunately, her mother’s latest misadventure lands her in the clutches of a Mexican drug lord. Now the only person who can save her is the one man Erin has no business asking for help: the sexy-as-sin army ranger who just so happens to be her former high school sweetheart.

Zander James is no gentleman—and no officer, either, thanks to Erin. Four years ago, she made a call that terminated his highest aspirations . . . and their relationship. He’s never forgiven her, but when he learns that Erin’s embarking on a half-baked rescue mission, he sure as hell can’t let her go alone. Now, with a treacherous enemy lying in wait, the electrifying tension between them may just be Zander’s undoing. Because while he may be able to keep Erin alive, he can’t promise to keep his hands off her.

REVIEW:
3.5 Hearts This is the third in the Rule Breakers series and for the most part it is an enjoyable read and I wanted to read every word to find out what would happen. I even thought I figured a part out and it ended up not being true (might have been better if it was). But do I consider Zander a Rule Breaker? Not really. Maybe when he was young but not know. Which actually brings up something. The characters seem older than the 22 year olds they are supposed to be. There doesn’t seem to be any youth in them anymore.

They are both so mad at each other for what happened four years ago that they can’t see straight and yet so attracted to each other that they can’t think of anything else. But neither understands why they other did what they did four years ago. In all honestly I might be able to understand Zander being upset but holding a grudge for something that Erin really should have done? It doesn’t seem right. Her side I understand completely.

Like I said it was an interesting read and the story is a bit suspenseful but there are problems with the dialog. I can’t even count the number of times Erin drifts off from the conversation and then says “What?”. It seemed the author found enjoyable (to her) lines and then used them a handful a times then started with a new line. The love scenes were repetitive. There were a few other things but all in all it was a good read and I will read the next in the series which I am thinking is Dani and R-Four’s story (?).

PUBLICATION DATE: December 2, 2014
ORDER LINKS: Amazon| B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis brings you a heartwarming tale that could only happen in Lucky Harbor . . .

SEASON’S KISSES

Wild child Chloe Thompson can’t believe how much things have changed. She still can’t get enough of her sexy husband Sawyer, but he seems to prefer working to thinking about impending fatherhood. So tonight, a very pregnant Chloe is escaping her troubles at the town Christmas party.

Sheriff Sawyer Thompson hopes surprising Chloe at the party will give him a chance to set things right. But as the snow begins to fall and the wind rages, he wonders whether he can make it back in time. While mother nature conspires to keep Sawyer and Chloe apart, an unexpected arrival will require them to kiss and make up . . . and ring in the happiest holiday Lucky Harbor has ever seen. 13,000 words

KELLY’S REVIEW:
5 Hearts Oh how I love a good Lucky Harbor story. And I love them even more knowing that the Lucky Harbor series is done (will kind of. I asked Jill about this and she said there will be more novellas).
Merry Christmas Baby takes us back to visit Sawyer and Chloe and little baby Bean. This was such a sweet story and I am so glad that we got to take a glimpse into Sawyer and Chloe’s life. These two have had a rough time of life and love. I am so happy that they are getting a happy ever after. And let me tell you Sawyer and baby Bean are beyond adorable together (totally tissue worthy)

Lucky Harbor fans you will love this very very short story. Until next time Lucky Harbor.

KIMBERLY’S REVIEW:
4.5 Hearts This is a sweet Holiday novella with less than 40 pages but one that any fan of the Lucky Harbor series just had to have. We met Chloe and Sawyer in Head Over Heels (Lucky Harbor #3) and this is their follow up. Chloe is now pregnant and going through so many pregnancy hormones she can barely stand herself neither less anyone else and when Sawyer keeps leaving she is heartbroken. But like any Shalvis story there is more to it then Sawyer wanting to get away. I loved that within a few pages of the story Shalvis says “shes once been hell on wheels” as a shout out to their first story.

I won’t say too much since it is so short and it would give too much away but I will say that it was a great Christmas gift to the fans of Lucky Harbor and Jill Shalvis. (Just wish we knew what the baby’s name is – I wrote Shalvis on Facebook to ask – No word yet)

Kimberly reviews Tears Of The Rose by Jeffe Kennedy

Tears Of The RoseTITLE: The Twelve Kingdoms: Tears Of The Rose
SERIES #: Twelve Kingdoms #2
CHARACTERS: Amelia & ???
AUTHOR: Jeffe Kennedy
PUBLICATION DATE: 11/25/14
ORDER LINKS:Amazon| B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Three sisters. Motherless daughters of the high king. The eldest is the warrior-woman heir; the middle child is shy and full of witchy intuition; and the youngest, Princess Amelia, she is as beautiful as the sun and just as generous.
Ami met her Prince Charming and went away to his castle on the stormy sea-cliffs—and that should have been her happily ever after. Instead, her husband lies dead and a war rages. Her middle sister has been taken into a demon land, turned into a stranger. The priests and her father are revealing secrets and telling lies. And a power is rising in Ami, too, a power she hardly recognizes, to wield her beauty as a weapon, and her charm as a tool to deceive…
Amelia has never had to be anything but good and sweet and kind and lovely. But the chess game for the Twelve Kingdoms has swept her up in it, and she must make a gambit of her own. Can the prettiest princess become a pawn—or a queen?

REVIEW:
So I had a hard time with this story. First I never warmed up to Amelia. When we met her in the first in the series she was superficial and spoiled and that did not change in this book. And while she does seem to change toward the end of the book a bit and she grows up for lack of a better word by then it was too late and I just didn’t care. I liked Hugh and maybe if he had been involved instead of dying in the first book then we could have enjoyed Amelia more but this way I just didn’t.

This story doesn’t have the feel of the first book which felt like a trip to Narnia, Hogwarts and other places rolled into one. This just felt lacking.

Now that being said I usually find I do not enjoy the second book in a trilogy. The first gives us the beginning with information into understanding what is happening and the third closes up the story so it is interesting in its own way but the second just seems less than and it is the same with this. I will most likely read the next in the series and hope that it is better.

Operation FamilyTITLE: Operation Family
SERIES #: SEALed For You #3
CHARACTERS: Nicole & Mac
AUTHOR: Marissa Dobson
PUBLICATION DATE: November 18, 2014
ORDER LINKS:Amazon| B&N (coming soon)

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Navy SEAL Lieutenant Commander Mac García spent twenty years in the military but had no plans to retire. He didn’t know what his life would be like without the SEALs, and through the years he saw the worst in the world. He’d be damned if he’d see another attack on American soil. Arriving home, he’s faced with a whole different obstacle—twin toddlers. As the only family left to these little girls, he has to figure out what the next step in his life will be and how he’ll manage raising two children.

A knock at Nicole Ryan’s door delivers the news of a friend’s death, and now she’s alone to care for the twins until their guardian arrives. As their nanny since they were born, she can’t picture being separated from them, let alone seeing them head to the other side of the United States. She’ll fight for the right to keep the girls, because she doesn’t know how else to deal with the loss of their father, and she can’t bear losing them too.

Can two people from different walks of life come together to build a strong family for the twins? Or will destiny make them lose everything they hold dear?

REVIEW:
4..25 Hearts A SEAL with a heart of gold and the three females who claim it. That should be the tagline for this story. When we first meet Mac he melts your heart when he picks up the little runaway boy in the airport and you just know that he will end up being a great dad to the twins that he has yet to learn about. Mac is a caregiver. He has been put on this Earth to take care of the people he loves and soon that includes two little girls that he didn’t even know existed. Nicole has raised the twins since they were born even though she is the nanny and not blood. They have known no other “mom” than her and she is going to fight to keep “her” babies and I love her strength. When these two meet it is immediate and intense and meant to be.

Every woman should have a man in her life like Mac. He shows his love with every look and every touch. It’s hard not to fall for a SEAL like Mac. I read this book in 4 straight hours because I couldn’t put it down. I wanted to see what happened. I loved the mental picture of the girls sleeping on Mac’s hard chest. I loved Uncle Sam and Uncle Angelo too. I hope they get their own stories even though they are not SEALS.

This family was meant to be and I’m glad fate, no matter how tragic, brought them together. There are so many cute scenes that make the reader smile and some that make you wish for your own Navy SEAL.

Where theres a WillTITLE: Where There’s A Will
CHARACTERS: Miranda and Coe
AUTHOR: Stacy Gail
PUBLICATION DATE: 11/17/14
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Miranda Brookhaven returned to Bitterthorn, Texas to fix the past. Years ago, her father used her teenage romance with Coe Rodas to steal the prototype for a groundbreaking new automotive invention. Now her father’s dead, and thanks to the convoluted will he left behind, she’s stuck in town until she rights the wrong that lost her the man she loved.
Coe learned early on that life never goes according to plan. His dreams of hitting it big vanished when Miranda all but invited her father to take the only thing of value he ever had. But now the once-pampered princess is holed up in a condemned trailer on the edge of town…and everything he thought he knew about her and about what happened between them back then seems completely wrong.
Miranda’s determined to give back to Coe all that he lost. If she can do that, maybe she can move on from the past. But Coe seems to be more interested in their rekindled passion than claiming what she thinks he deserves. She’s got sixty days to convince him to cough up evidence that he’s the original inventor after that, the only way to transfer the patent rights over to him would be to make him part of the family, and she’s not sure her heart can take another hit.

REVIEW:
3.75 Hearts I enjoyed this book but it did get wordy at some times. The relationship between Coe and Miranda is interesting and seemed to take a long time to work out but then I realized it didn’t really. It was more that there were a lot of words to get them there. I know that sounds weird but it is true.

So Miranda and Coe both have different stories about how their past went and while neither is really wrong neither is really right either. But this story is not about their past as much as about how they deal with their futures and how they need to learn to live beyond what the past handed them. And I think the author did a good job of getting that across. Sometimes the scenes were so real and true that you can feel the hurt. When Miranda explains about Coe getting rid of the tattoo of her name it is so sad and you can imagine the feelings she has.

So while I enjoyed this story and it is only about 150 pages it is not a quick read. But that being said it is worth the read.

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Hope Nichols has never felt as if she belonged anywhere, except her hometown of Pine Gulch. So, when she hears that her family’s property, Christmas Ranch, is set to be shut down forever, a determined Hope heads home. She refuses to let the Grinch steal her holiday—this will be the most memorable ranch Christmas ever! And, thanks to hunky former navy SEAL Rafe Santiago and his adorable nephew, she might just pull off that miracle.

Rafe is undeniably drawn to Hope and her passion for rebuilding her family home. But he knows more about Hope’s tragic past than even she herself could imagine. And though she doesn’t know it, she owes him her life. And all he wants in return is for her to spend it with him….

REVIEW:
Looking for a light hearted feel good romantic holiday story? Well this isn’t it. While a really good story there is a number of sad things in this story. First the family is sad because of the loss of Hope’s brother-in-law and Uncle who usually ran The Christmas Ranch. Hope comes home with a hero complex (for lack of a better word) and figures she will make everything right and get the ranch working again while her sisters and aunt want to wallow. And while we can appreciate it the background makes the story sad.

Then there is Rafe who brings a sadness all his own. He has left the SEALS to care for his nephew because his sister has gone to jail and he has a history with Hope and her sisters that Hope doesn’t realize and that history is sad as well. Honestly while there is a HEA and romance and a sweetness there is more sad than happy.

Now all that being said it really is a sweet story. The time it takes to get the ranch ready for Christmas and the time Rafe and Hope spend together is nice. The romance growing between them is lovely. All-in-all this is a really good read it is just not a light hearted romance so be ready.

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
No Christmas will ever be the same after Cole and Maia meet on a snowy western ranch… Find out why in #1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan’s romantic holiday e-novella!

When Cole Steele, a womanizer rumored to have killed his father, meets Maia Armstrong, a veterinarian rumored to practice magic, the sizzling romance could melt all the snow on his Wyoming ranch. And when an injured horse brings them together, Cole can’t help but believe that Maia casts spells on animals—and men. What else could explain the burning passion he feels for her and the thawing of his heart just in time for Christmas?

NATASHA’S REVIEW:
4 Hearts Christine Feehan never disappoints. This Christmas novel is no different in terms of intense storylines and having you fall in love with the characters. Cole is a super intense dominant male personality. He has been through sheer hell, which is weird to see in a Christmas novel. Luckily he meets Maia and his whole world turns upside down. Maia however is very independent and I really have no idea where her mind is at until the end. I was actually stressed during this book because I didn’t know how things would work out. That’s a good problem to have with a book. Also, I just loved Cole’s brother Jase. He was a breath of fresh air in this book and I adored him. All of these three characters together made for an extremely romantic and heart warming Christmas story.

KIMBERLY’S REVIEW:
4.25 Hearts What an interesting story. The characters are so complex and have so much history that they feel real. Cole and Jase are half brothers who didn’t even know the other existed until recently and yet they share the history of their cruel father. Maia comes into their lives and something about her changes everything the men have ever known about life. And somehow they connect in a way the guys never thought they would be able to with another person.

It seems like this book may have been in Feehan’s mind for a long time just waiting to be written. THe characters are so intense and real that you feel like you know them. You hurt for them and you cheer their simple moments that are so hard for them. Christmas feels lost on them and the reader feels it too. The sadness of never having the holiday is intense. And then there are the times when they love. The brothers love for each other is growing and yet they are unsure how to trust. And then there is Maia who has a secret all her own that she can talk to animals. Well not talk exactly… well the book will explain… and yet she is so down to earth.

I really enjoyed this story. Was it a holiday feel good love story? No way! There is a lot that is dark in this book but it is worth the read and not something you want to miss.
