REVIEW:
SEAL Of My Dreams by Stephanie Bond actually includes 18 stories by some well known authors including Bond, Jami Alden, Kylie Brant, Helen Brenna, HelenKay Dimon, Cindy Gerard, Tara Jenzen, Leslie Kelly, Elle Kennedy, Alison Kent, Jo Leigh, Gennita Low, Marliss Melton, Christie Ridgway, Barbara Samuel, Roxanne St. Claire, Stephanie Tyler and Loreth Anne White.
All of these stories main characters are SEALS but in all honesty most could be any military. Of course some stories are better than others and some are worse but they are all really good stories. I love anthologies because it is an excellent way to be introduced to new authors. Another great thing about anthologies is they are not a continuing story so it is something that would be great to download and have available to read at anytime. And this one is highly recommended to have on hand because who doesn’t love a SEAL?

REVIEW:
How do you tell your spouse you want to go from vanilla sex to light BDSM? And when you get up the nerve to tell him what will he do about it? That is the main focus of this book.
Jessica started having fantasies after reading erotica and begins to feel guilty when she stays having forbidden fantasies while having sex with her husband Alex. Alex knows something is going on but doesn’t understand what it is. Finally Jessica is left with no choice but to tell Alex what is in her mind and then showing him too. And once Alex knows could it be some of the same ideas strike his fancy too?
This is a very quick read. Only about 80 pages. It is well worth the read. If you are unsure if you should share your fantasies read this book and know that you are not the only one no matter what your fantasies are. And if you have fantasies of light BDSM and do not know how to tell your significant other then download this book, hand it over and after the book has been read smile and say “What do you want to try first?”

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Jasper Jamenson’s only responsibility to being the Beta of the Redwood Pack, second son of the Alpha, is to protect the Pack from themselves and the human world. After a century of selfless service, his brother’s new found mating forced him into taking a good look into his life. He isn’t sure he wants a mate, but fate may have other ideas.
Willow Delton is a skinny, bakery owner – the type most women love to hate. Being without family, she finds herself alone to the Greek god with green eyes who saunters into her bakery every morning. Her desire to follow him, to be with him, overrides every rational sense she possessed.
Jasper and Willow are drawn together, despite every nuisance that works against them. But evil beyond even Jasper’s supernatural compensation will make war against him, by going after the only thing in his eternal life he desires – Willow. Is Willow’s heart enough to overcome Jasper’s soul to save her life? A fight he cannot win, but to save her life – he must.

REVIEW:
This is the second in the Redwood Pack series. Carrie Ann Ryan is really coming into her own with this series. I finished the first book which was only about 50 pages and while really good it missed a lot of background (but it was still 4 stars). But this book is longer (about 130) and delves into the background of the family, werewolves and has a storyline beyond meeting a mate.
I could explain what happens but really the synopsis does pretty good already. However what it doesn’t say is that in this book we meet The Centrals, another wolf pack, who want to kill the Redwood pack and seem to want to use Willow to lure the family in. Willow is a strong woman who wants to be loved and have a family and she is willing to do anything to make that happen with Jasper. The interesting thing about Jasper is he is not the “perfect” guy… he messes up – boy can that boy mess things up! But the reader never doubt his love for Willow.
I enjoyed reading this book more than the first (see my review on “An Alpha’s Path”) not because the first wasn’t good – it really is good – but it is a short story and this one was so much more intense and had a paranormal suspense feel about it. There was no suspense in the first one. Now after reading this book I wish Ryan would go back and add more to her first book because I think it could be so much more. And I can not wait to read the third one “Trinity Bound” because “A Taste For A Mate” leaves you with a cliffhanger!

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Society already believes she’s a scarlet woman.
Why not become one?
Posing nude to appease her now ex-fiancé perhaps wasn’t the most prudent idea Beatrice Weatherly has ever had. With the photographs scrutinized up and down the ton and her brother running them into debt, Beatrice’s hopes of making a respectable marriage are dashed.
After one glance at Beatrice’s infamous racy cabinet cards, wealthy, powerful Edward Ellsworth Ritchie is soon obsessed with Beatrice’s voluptuous figure. His indecent proposal—one month of hedonistic servitude in exchange for enough money to pay her brother’s debts—is one she can hardly refuse.
Determined not to let the rogue best her, Beatrice sets out for the infamous House of Madame Chamfleur to learn how to appease Edward’s well-known appetite. Soon the couple is playing out exquisite fantasies…and feeling emotion that goes deeper than flesh. But Edward harbors a shocking secret, and Beatrice must decide if she’s prepared to give up everything for a man who can offer her nothing, but who means everything.

REVIEW:
While I could explain the premise of the book in my own words I really do not think I need to since the synopsis is very clear. This book falls under erotica with the era of historical romance. This is the 5th in the “The Ladies Sewing Club” series. But it stands alone and need not be read in order.
The story is interesting. And even if it was just set as a historical and not erotica it would be interesting. Beatrice has overcome a lot of scandal and figures why not enjoy being a scarlet woman if she is going to have the title anyway yet she is naive in the act of it. Ritchie has become obsessed with her and wants her in his bed. But it is not just about Beatrice and Edward but a number of secondary characters each with their own erotic scenes.
While the story is good, the thing about this book is the author seems desperate to try to use “big” words. Words that even in their own sentences sound out of place. Yes, of course, some words are from that era and while we know what they mean they are no longer part of our daily vocabulary but it is almost like the author had a thesaurus next to her to see what words she could come up with. It is extremely distracting from the story. And the overuse of the word f*** is distracting as well. Once again I understand there are times the word can be used but really it becomes vulgar and unneeded. If you can get past that then you can enjoy the book for the story alone but it can be difficult at times.

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
1800s. San Antonio, Texas: In room 207 at the Longhorn Saloon, in the long shadow of the Alamo itself, a woman renowned for her beauty was brutally murdered. Her killer was never found. One year ago: In that same historic room, another woman vanished without a trace. Her blood was everywhere…but her body was never recovered. Now: In the last month, San Antonio has become a dumping ground for battered bodies. All young women, all long missing, almost all forgotten. Until now. Texas Ranger Logan Raintree cannot sit by and let his city’s most vulnerable citizens be slain. So when he is approached to lead a brand-new group of elite paranormal investigators working the case, he has no choice but to accept the challenge. And with it, his powerful ability to commune with the dead. Among Logan’s new team is Kelsey O’Brien, a U.S. marshal known for her razor-sharp intuition and a toughness that belies her delicate exterior. Kelsey has been waiting all her life to work with someone who can understand her ability to “see” the past unfolding in the present. Now she has her chance. Together, Kelsey and Logan follow their instincts to the Alamo and to the newly reopened Longhorn, which once tempted heroes with drink, cards and women. If the spirits of those long-dead Texans are really appearing to the victims before their deaths, only Kelsey and Logan have the skills to find out why. And if something more earthly is menacing the city’s oldest, darkest corners, only they can stop it – before more innocent women join the company of San Antonio’s restless ghosts…

REVIEW:
*3.5 Stars* This is the first in the new Texas Krewe of Hunters. While most of Graham’s books have been set in Florida (mostly Key West) or some in New Orleans this is set in San Antonio, Texas. It is the start up of the new Krewe of Hunters. A new branch of the Harrison Investigation/Krewe of Hunters in New Orleans series.
Logan is a Texas Ranger who is coming back from losing his wife three years ago after a revenge killing for putting a man into prison. Kelsey is a US Marshal from Key West. Neither of them knows why they are being called to San Antonio except there is going to be a new job offer but neither has an idea of what kind of job or why them. When Jackson Crow (Krewe leader of the New Orleans branch) explains why they have been asked to help they learn women are being killed and left around the city. Jackson feels there is something going on and because The Alamo has such history maybe Logan and Kelsey with the “gifts” they have can get to the answers before another woman goes missing.
This is a very typical Graham ghost story. And ghost stories are where Graham should stay. She has a way of writing that draws the reader in. I guess you could say that Graham writes it all. Her books fall under “Paranormal Romantic Suspense”. Her books are not the same when she does not write about ghost. Thankfully we have three in this book to enjoy. The problem was I never felt a connection between Kelsey and Logan. Their relationship felt more like a working affair and when the case was over they would go their separate ways and be fine with it. What keeps this story going? The suspense of who-dunnit (which I am not sure I have ever figured out in one of Graham’s books and I read a lot of suspense books) and the history of the area she is writing about. The history that we find out through Graham’s writing is incredible and it makes you want to go visit. In this case it was The Alamo which of course was part of our history class growing up but Graham wraps a story around that history and brings the area to life. Is this one of her best ever? Maybe not. But I did enjoy it. And if you are a fan of Graham’s then you will as well. No one tells a ghost story like Graham!

REVIEW:
First let me say this is the first book written by Johnson and I can not wait until the next book to come out! I was surprised how much I enjoyed this book!
Angela’s father recently died of what they are saying is a heart attack but Angela does not believe that. So many things seem suspicious about what was going on and when she starts getting threatening phone calls and too close for comfort accidents she thinks she may be right that something is going on. And she is going to find out what come hell or high water. Chase is asked by his boss to keep an eye on his God-daughter Angela. Chase is not thrilled at first but when he sees all the incidents taking place he has to wonder if maybe his boss was right to worry. When Chase feels like he has to do more than watch from afar he and Angela begin a journey towards answers and love.
Angela is a strong woman in life but when her life turns upside down she is not sure where she can pull the strength she needs from until she meets Chase. Chase is a self-proclaimed “dominant, aggressive and possessive man” and a ex Navy SEAL. Both characters are written really well. It does not take long to get wrapped up in this book. The story line is really interesting and I enjoyed every moment of it. The only reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 4 is there was a couple of things that just did not get finished in the storyline or was forgotten. (example: one chapter Angela has bruised ribs that she is babying while just walking and the next chapter the ribs are never mentioned again and she is running and being thrown around.) Also the epilogue has a very abrupt ending. I wanted another page or at least a paragraph or two more. But really I enjoyed this book very much. I hope Johnson plans on writing more and really hope the next book is Sean and Emily’s story (hint hint)!

REVIEW:
I have never read this author before and I found her writing confusing but interesting.
The book notes: Warning: This book contains a dirigible, flying machines, automatons, a sexy but secretive hero, a stubborn heroine, and a very determined killer.
In all honesty it was hard for me to understand what time from I was reading. It is certainly written as a historical however many people travel by dirigible and are talking about flying machines and automatons. Which is certainly not something that was going on in historical times (or not that I know of) and it made for a confusing time to read. I finally decided to just think of it as a historical and mentally disregard the futuristic moments.
That being said. The story was really interesting. It held my attention and had me wanting to know what was going to happen. And I was surprised by the ending (I won’t ruin it for the next reader). It is not something I would have normally picked up but received it as a free read for a review. But I if you enjoy historical and futuristic novels and would love to read one that combines your loves then by all means PICK UP THIS BOOK!

REVIEW:
Declan is a sorcerer who has been forced to work for the Seraphim and has been told to pick up a man and deliver him to the Seraphim_. However when he gets there he is in for a couple surprises. One the “man” he was sent to pick up is actually a teenager and two he is protected by Ana, the lost vampire love of Declan. Also the teen is the fifth in the Seventh Mark. These are a group of seven who will grow and turn to either the light or dark and could possibly start an Apocalypse. When Declan decides to protect the teen instead of bringing him in and he brings in others to protect the teen they go looking for Samael, demon lord, who is looking for someone himself… The Teenager.
Ana is a tough vampire and not only feels that taking care of the teen is a order she must obey but her maternal instincts have come out and she sees what she will never have in the boy. Declan is a strong sorcerer but he lost his heart to Ana and where she is concerned nothing else matters.
This is the 1st in the League of Guardians series. There is everything in this book, sorcerers, vampires, shape-shifters, ghouls, etc. It is what every paranormal reader would enjoy but in all honesty I thought this was the first book by this author and was surprised there had even been other series’ by Juliana Stone. It is written a little rough and simplistic but that being said I wanted to know how it ended. I wanted to get back to reading it when I could. If you are not into these type of books this will not be one that would persuade you to change your mind. But certainly one you should pick up if you are into paranormal books.

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Four days before Valentine’s Day, Liese Hansfeld is determined to shut the door to her house, as well as her heart, for her annual four days of mourning her one true love. Little does she know her best friend Freytag Meier is just as determined to keep her from her ritual. He’s ready to pick the lock to her apartment door and camp in her living room if that’s what it takes.
What Freytag isn’t prepared for is the surge of deep-rooted emotions he feels for Liese, but two things stand in his way: the grief and guilt she still clutches close to her heart, and a man who threatens to snatch Liese from under Frey’s watchful eye. Frey is determined to distract her into forgetting her pain. But is that enough to ease her grief, or help her see he can be more than her best friend?
REVIEW PROVIDED BY: Kimberly NUMBER OF STARS: 2 Stars
REVIEW:
Liese has been morning her lost love for 2 years. Every year before Valentine’s Day she locks herself away to wallow in self-pity. But this year will be different. Frey feels like Liese has felt guilty for long enough and this year he is going to keep her busy for the 4 days around Valentine’s Day. Frey has been her best friend for what seems like forever and loved Liese for almost as long. Can he wake her from her heartbreaking nightmare? Can she see that it is time to move on?
Honestly, I could never get into these characters. Frey seems desperate and the is just too sweet to be the real at least when it comes to Liese. Liese just seems like a lost cause and you spend the whole story thinking “Why does Frey even bother? What does he see in her?” Frey’s desperation is palpable. Liese, it seems ,is suffering from a major depression and as a reader it just makes her hard to connect with. Both characters are sadly pathetic in their longing for love and it makes the reader feel dispirited as well.
However the book is well written. I didn’t feel that the story or the writing could be better in and of itself, it is just not a feel good, love the characters, wished it could have gone on for longer kind of book. But hey give it a try… Different opinions is what makes the world go round and you could enjoy it more than I did.

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
As a therapist specializing in sexual issues, psychiatrist Dr. Morgan Snow isn’t easily shocked, or shaken, as readers of the popular “Butterfield Institute” novels know. There are times, however, when the need for her services leads her out of the office… and into unfamiliar worlds.
In these stories the therapist matches her wits -and her training – against three men of mystery: Jack Reacher, John Rain, and Cotton Malone.
Those characters are, of course, familiar to readers as the creations, respectively, of NYT bestselling authors Lee Child, Barry Eisler and Steve Berry. All 3 swore that their characters would never agree to therapy – unless Rose found a way to get them there. And she did.
In EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES with Steve Berry’s Cotton Malone, a woman seeks help for her lover, and sends Dr. Snow overseas on a most unusual house call….
DECISIONS, DECISIONS where Barry Eisler’s John Rain forces Dr. Snow out of her own comfort zone, and into the world of a former patient’s worst nightmare…
And KNOWING YOU’RE ALIVE with Lee Child’s Jack Reacher results in revelations for both the injured Dr. Snow, and her unexpected savior/patient…

REVIEW:
Are you a fan of M.J. Rose? Haven’t heard of her yet? Me either until I ran across this book and as a fan of Steve Berry’s Cotton Malone and Lee Child’s Jack Reacher (Who’s character will soon be a big screen movie starring Tom Cruise if I am not mistaken) I had to read this book. And while I had not read Barry Eisler’s John Rain yet I will be soon. Malone and Reacher are such dynamic characters in their own right (their books are something you should certainly read if you have not already) but to have them in the same book is a gift from the world of publishing. Even better the sale of this book helps the Wish You Well Foundation from yet another author David Baldacci. Dr. Snow is a character not to be missed on her own. It is amazing how much the characters continue to sound like themselves even though Rose is the author. If you are a fan of M.J. Rose and have not heard of the other characters this is a great introduction to them.

Becoming Sage
The Keyhole #1
By Kasi Alexandra
Amazon | B&N
With a failed marriage behind her, Jill Marten was looking to start a new chapter in her life. She had no idea that running into her old friend, Jessie, would unlock a whole new world. When she accepts Jessie’s invitation to a party, in order to “try something completely different,” it awakens a need to discover her place in a new community. Jessie, also known as sunni, is a submissive slave who is in a loving relationship with her Master, Sir Rune. When Rune and sunni ask Jill to be a part of their family, Jill begins her journey into submission, bondage, and polyamory, even as she questions everything that she has been taught about love and relationships. She begins to face her own desires and fears as she struggles with feelings of jealousy, inadequacy, and self-worth. Once she opens the door to a life she never imagined, a peek through the keyhole is no longer enough, and she must learn what it means to become sage.
Kasi Alexander’s debut novel, Becoming sage, is the first installment in The Keyhole Series. An active member of the BDSM community, Kasi brings a true-to-life realism to her writing. This is not traditional erotica, but the series offers an intimate look into the lives of the men and women who live the BDSM lifestyle, in particular, the Master/slave dynamic.
Review by Kimberly:
Jill is coming off of a divorce and is at a point where she just wants to figure out what she wants in life. She reconnects with a old school mate, Jessie, who introduces Jill to her boyfriend, Rune. But when they head to a party Jill starts to see a different way of life involving BDSM and Polyamory. She is invited into the world of Sir Rune and sunni (Jessie) and into a world where she feels she belongs not just to another but to herself as well.
If you are looking for a book about sex this is not the one to read. This is a story written in the first person by Jill. The author, Kasi Alexander, is actually an active part of this community which makes the book much more realistic. Kasi follows the old saying “Write what you know”. The point of this book is not to turn a person on… it is an introduction to a lifestyle. If you are into the lifestyle already then you will feel at ease reading this book and will probably see a portion of yourself in this book. If you are not involved in the lifestyle you may find this informative as long as you are open minded. You will find Jill asks a lot of the questions you yourself might ask.
Open the book. Open your mind. Open yourself up to another world you didn’t even know you would enjoy!

Can she love him if she can’t remember him? Molly Anderson returns “home” to a town she doesn’t remember, hoping it will spark a memory. She runs into Trent Williams, an off duty police officer, and something else definitely sparks.
He wants to know why she left town, with her parents, but without a word to anyone. She doesn’t remember that life. She can only tell him she knew her parents briefly before they died . . . or were murdered, she’s not sure. She hopes regaining her memory will help answer that question.
Trent has his own secrets, but they have a mystery to solve. As they work together and Molly meets their old friends, she realizes their relationship went deeper than memories. In fact, she grew up in Ridge City, even though her parents had said they lived there just a few years. How could she have forgotten her lifelong friend and love? Can she love him again if she doesn’t remember him? There’s also the possibility that she did something awful — and maybe that’s why she’s afraid to remember her old life.
Molly knows she wants him now, but the truth might destroy their love.
Review by Kimberly:
4 Stars
Molly has forgotten everything and everyone she has ever known and doesn’t even know how it happened. So she heads to places her parents mentioned they have lived before they died in a car accident. In a little town in Oregon she walks into a police station with some questions and she runs into Trent. He cannot believe the woman who walked away from him 5 years ago has just walked back into his life. But when he realizes she doesn’t remember anything he decides he will make it his mission to find the answers that Molly needs to help her remember. And then maybe she will remember the love they shared.
Molly seems lost but strong at the same time. She really wants to remember but is afraid of what she might find out and you really feel for her. Trent is an all-around good guy. They are both very likeable characters. You really end up wanting to know what caused her memory loss. And what traumatic event could have happened that makes her want to forget everything. And I will say while I did try to think of reasons I never went to the answer that was actually given. And while I might have changed a couple of the end “answers” if I had been the writer, the book was really well written and enjoyable. Definitely worth putting on your e-book reader list.
