My Thoughts:
Anyone who knows me knows that I am totally and completely in love with Nicholas Roman.  He is by far one of my most favorite characters of ALL, YES ALL of the books I have read.

In Nicky book we pick up where we left off in Eternal Hunger with Nicky willing to do anything for his brothers.  Family is the most important thing to him. But Nicky is hiding something even from the ones he loves the most, a secret that could destroy the love that his brothers have for him. 

Nicky’s world is turned upside down when he has a chance meeting with who he thinks in an informant.  It turns out to be a very beautiful veana (female) who has an even bigger secret for Nicholas, one that will change all of them.

This book is full of so many ups and downs twists and turns. I had to have a box of Kleenex to me the whole time. 

I was so fortunate to have received this book early.  I love you Laura… You have me as a fan for life. I am looking forward to the wild ride I know you are going to take us on in the next book.

ARC Forever Vampire by Michele Hauf

My Summary:
Vail was taken as a baby, as part of a boon (a payment) that had to be paid for a debt from the past, to live in Faery.  Once it is discovered that Vail is a full blooded Vampire, he is taught to hate everything about the outside world and vampires.  After a doing a favor for a friend Vail finds himself banished from Faery, the only home he has ever known, to the mortal world.  Not knowing whom to turn to Vail finds himself seeking out his family, the same family that gave him up as a baby.    Rhys gives Vail a fresh start, a house, a car, the tools he needs for revenge and now a job.  A simple job… find a Vampiress and a dress.
Lyric is so tired of living under her mother’s roof.  She dreams of running away to join the circus or finding a deserted island somewhere. Lyric just wants to start a new life.  So when Lyric’s mother asked her to deliver a dress, she’s not so willing to do it, but agrees anyways, it is too hard to say no to her mother.   Knowing she will be able to get away at least for a little while will be nice.  That is until she finds out what the dress is and who she has to deliver it to.  That is when Lyric panics.  But panic is short lived when one of the windows in her bedroom breaks and she takes a fist to the side of the head….then she blacks out.
 Vail’s job is to find the Vampiress and the dress. Turn the Vampiress over to her mother, return the dress to Rhys.  Get the information that he needs about his real father and then kill him.  But everything changes when Vail actually catches Lyric.  There is something about the Vampiress that draws him in.  Vail doesn’t understand, because he has always been taught that Vampires in the mortal world are dirty creatures.  Lyric is the opposite of everything that he was ever taught.

My Thoughts:


I have been looking forward to reading this book since I finished Seducing the Vampire.  In Seducing the Vampire we are introduced to Vaillant at the very end of the book.  I won’t tell you too much about Seducing the Vampire, but you can read my review HERE. 

I was fortunate to be able to read this book before the release day on April 19th.  I enjoyed this book so very, very much.
The chemistry between Vail and Lyric is hot.  They play off each other so well.  Vail is stubborn to a fault. Vail is such a sweet guy, sexy as hell and is just trying to find his place in a world he knows nothing about.  Lyric is a girl who knows what she wants and now she wants 100% of Vaillant.  And once Vail gets over his fear of the unknown he learns what and who is important to him.
I am hoping that Michele will bring Vail and Lyric back in a future book.  I want to know how these two are doing.  But after talking to Michele she has no plans for them right now. *Crossing my fingers*

Okay so getting back to the reason I asked you here, I mean beside to look at you fine asses…

Okay, Okay back to business or Lyon will never let you visit again.
So I just finished reading Axel & Darcy and Sutton & Carla’s stories and loved both of them so much.  Lyon sure doesn’t go easy on you guys does she?
Phoenix:  Lyon has issues. She should get therapy for that mean streak.
Key:  Or drugs.  Mellow her out a little bit.
Well I asked you here because I have a little book blog.

How do you feel about Lyon telling your stories? 
Phoenix:  All I want her to do is make the voice in my head stop. That’s it. I got everything else under control, but that voice haunting me— that’s low, even for Lyon.

Phoenix snorts: I skipped the sex scenes in your book. I don’t need the image of your naked butt in my head.  But Lyon showing how much I love Ailish? *He shrugs*  That part she got right.  Dead on.  I’d kill or die for Ailish.
Key ‘s face softens:  Same goes with my Roxy. She’s a fertility witch and sex magic is her gift. Seeing her drenched in her magic, her skin on fire with her witch shimmer– *Key clears his throat* Yeah I guess Lyon had to show that.
*blushing* Okay moving on
I want to know if I will cry in your stories. Cause that damn Sutton and Carla made me cry many times…
Phoenix: Darlin’ I don’t make women cry. Moan, pant or scream…sure. But I don’t make them cry. 
Key:  Oh shut up, Phoenix. Enough  with the bragging. *Key leans forward and whispers* His story will make you cry Kelly, but I’ll dry your tears, sweetheart.  And don’t tell him I said this, but in Phoenix’s story, he’s more the hero that he ever will admit.
Phoenix:  Hello? Hunter hearing?  Knock it off, comic boy.  *Phoenix shoves Key aside and moves closer* Lyon tortured the ever lovin’ shi…uh…crap out of Key in his book. If I’d known what she had planned, I have found a way to strangle her. I don’t hurt woman, but I’d make an exception in this case. You probably won’t cry like you did in Sutton’s book, but you’ll feel it, Kelly,” * he reaches out to touch my chest * right here, darlin’, you’ll feel it.
*Sighs* Aaahhhhh, So can’t wait!!!
Phoenix:  what is kind of music is on your iPod right now?  Enya? Boy Bands? Power Ballads?  *Big Grin*
Not funny, Kelly. That witch, Darcy,  has a mean streak.  *Phoenix frowns* Something’s wrong with my iPod lately, it’s picking up some weird singing…can we change the subject?
Key: are you working on any new comics?
Key: I’m getting ready to go to the Comic Expression Convention in Las Vegas. I’m doing some signings there, and—
Phoenix snorts:  Get laid by all your freakazoid groupies. Those chicks are all over you.
Key reaches over and shoves Phoenix. Hard:  Can’t help it if your mouth turns off women,
Phoenix laughs:  Women love what I do with—
Key talked over him:  After the convention, I’ll go back to work on my comic series, Dyfyr, The Dragon of Vengeance.
Key: I have to tell you that I love how you are with Hannah…. That little girl loves you so very much.
 I love that little girl, we all do. Readers won’t really see her in the future books though. Axel  and Darcy have her protected and out of the limelight to keep her safe from demon witches and rogues.  Of course, I still hang with her when we get the chance. 
Phoenix:  I am going to ask this and know it will get out of hand so just answer my question… no going off on any tangents….
Phoenix:  I don’t do tangents.
*Shaking head* Promise before I ask…. PROMISE ME *says through gritted teeth* !!!  
Phoenix flashes a grin:  Anything you want, Kelly girl, anything you want.
Okay then.   What is your favorite Chuck Norris Movie/TV show?
Phoenix: Did you know that Chuck Norris died 20 years ago, but Death just hasn’t build up the courage to tell him yet?
*to myself* Damn it!!!!  I knew I should not ask.
Phoenix continues: There is no theory of evolution, there is just a list of creatures Chuck Norris allowed to live.
Key: Okay, since we lost Phoenix tell me a little about your Dragon… I saw her last night and she is beautiful.
Key smiles:  He won’t tell you the reason he’s obsessed with Chuck Norris, but he does tell Ailish in his book so you can read it there.
Key’s face shifts, getting serious:  Lyon should have just left my dragon alone. But she didn’t so you’ll all find out anyway. The dragon isn’t a she—that was just Phoenix’s assumption. It’s an ancient, powerful male dragon named Dyfyr.  Let’s just say we’ve coexisted and got along fine…until Lyon had to stir things up in SINFUL MAGIC.  And the one who pays is Roxy, my soul mirror witch.
Oh look Phoenix is back…  *rolls eyes* (writes note to self..NEVER EVER ask about Chuck Norris again)
So Phoenix do you want to tell my followers what they can except in your book?

My Review:

My thoughts on this book:
I loved this book!!!!! Dom is so beyond hot that I want bump off Mackenzie just to have a chance with him.  He is dark, dreamy, tortured by whom and what he is, past and what he almost did to Mackenzie. 
Mackenzie knows that she will die young so therefore doesn’t want connections to anyone. But the pull of Dom is too much for her to handle.
I loved the world that Laurie sets up in this book.  And even more after reading one of her interviews on how she got her inspiration. If you would like to read here is that link.  It truly amazes me how the mind of an author works.
I am looking forward to book 2 Embrace by Blood (release date July 2011).  Laurie has also announced that there will be a novella coming out sometime before book 2 and she just signed contracts for books 3 & 4.  I can’t wait.

Poor Cassie, trouble always seems to find her, but this time she may be in over her head.  When she wakes up in a strange dark room she can’t remember how she got there.  Escape is the only thing her inner cat wants.  You see Cassie is a tiger shifter, and being locked up doesn’t sit well with her Tigress.  Freeing herself and her best friend Lin (who is also a shifter) should not be a problem, well until their captors see them trying to escape. With freedom so close Cassie runs into the one thing she never expected.
On his first solo mission Lance knows that he needs to keep his head down, get the information needed and get out.  Things are going somewhat good until he is almost run over by a beautiful blonde.  Then Lance does the one thing he is not supposed to do. Get involved.  Seeing that the blonde and her dark haired friend are being chased, Lance decides to help the ladies try to escape.  Now things are not going well at all, and the last thing Lance ever expected to happen on this mission was to be captured by a bunch of crazies and run into the most beautiful woman he has ever seen.
Cassie cannot understand this draw she has to this man she just about ran over, but she can’t stand to see him hurt.  Willing to risk everything Cassie shifts, when she sees one of their captors strike him with a sword and he goes down.  After all the noises quiet and Lance opens his eyes his captors are dead and there is a beautiful tigress in front of him.  Not afraid at all, Lance knows that something is not right, trying to look around he only sees one of the women the dark haired one, not moving, laying on the ground bleeding.  But where is the blonde, then he figures it out, she is the tigress.
Cassie’s only thought when she shifts back to human form is to save Lin who is too close to death, but doesn’t have the strength to shift.  Seeing that the man is not hurt she doesn’t understand how that is possible, she saw the sword go through him.  But she doesn’t have the time to think about it, right now.  Nothing matters but to save Lin. 
But can Cassie save herself from this pull she has for this stranger she just meet.  Will Lance be her savor or will he only cause her more pain.
My thoughts:
WOW!! I loved this story.  I even stayed up WAY to late just to finish. 
The connection between Lance and Cassie is so strong that neither of them understands it, but both of them feel it.  Unable to stay away from each other, Lance and Cassie find them self on a roller coaster of emotions.  Both Cassie and Lance have secrets about themselves that they are afraid to share with the other, but it just may be those secrets that could very will save them both.  Drawn together only to be torn apart these two have so many twists and turns, ups and downs you begin to wonder if they will ever find one another. 
I am really hoping Teresa is planning on writing more stories that revolve around many of the other characters that show up in this book.

Laura Stamps Interview & Giveaway

Thank you, Laura for taking time out of your busy schedule to doing this little interview with me.   I am so excited to share you with my book club girls and the followers on my blog, and BOY are they all in for a treat.

For the Love of Books:  Please tell us a little bit about yourself.  Any obsessions, hobbies or such you would like to share? *wink, wink*
SexWitch:  You would have to ask about obsessions, wouldn’t you?  lmao!  Okay, I’m a Pagan paranormal erotica novelist.  That means I write hot sexy books with yummy Pagan heroes.  All my books contain real spells, chants, and rituals.  No Harry Potter fantasy stuff from me.  Nah, I’m a real Wiccan Faery Witch, which is just a fancy title for a SexWitch.  Sex is my life.  And it’s a verrrry good life.  *lusty wink*  I’ve been a fulltime author for 23 years, and I’ve published more than 52 books with a bunch of publishers.  My resume is over 80 pages long with awards and honors, like a “Pulitzer Prize” nomination and seven “Pushcart Award” nominations.  Shh…don’t tell anyone, though.  It’ll ruin my rep as a simple slut.  *lol*  As for my obsessions, my fans know what those are: sex, lust, trashy lingerie, and men’s dangly parts.  Yummmmm! *lick, lick*
FLB: Number one question my followers want to know is where do your sex scenes come from?
SW:  I’m one of those erotica novelists who KNOWS my fans use my novels and novellas as sex manuals.  Because of that, I take all my sex scenes for a test drive before I write them to make sure they’re safe and feel fab.  Hey, it’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it, right?  *sex-obsessed wink*
FLB: I know my followers would like to know a little more about your books.  Can you give us a quite overview of what they can except to find in your stories?
SW: Sure.  I write three fiction series.  “The Witchery Series” is the main series, a trilogy, and not erotica (The Witches of Dixie, What Witches Want, and Call of the Witches).  They go from empowering (Book 1) to paranormal romance (Book 2) to erotic romance (Book 3).  “The Rune Witch Series” is an erotica trilogy (Sex Magick, Bewitched at the Beach, The Harvest Moon).  In these erotica novellas you’ll meet my sexy shapeshifter, Wynn, and the sassy Witch he’s crazy about, Noelle.  What can I say?  This one is scorching HAWT!  “The Manigault Vampires” is not a trilogy.  The first novel in this series is “A Vampire’s Kiss.”  In this one you’ll meet Drayton Manigault, possibly the hottest vamp ever.  This first novel in this erotica series was released as a serial.  Every day I get fan mail from readers telling me how they have fallen for Dray.  Hey, I can totally relate.  All the characters in my novels are fictional.  But when I created Dray he was so yummy I wanted to boink him myself.  So I made the heroine, Sara, a clone of me.  That means I got to boink hunky Dray over and over and…well, ya know.  Brilliant huh?  lol
FLB: What are you currently working on?
SW: Right now I’m working on the final edits on the last installment of “A Vampire’s Kiss.”  It will come out this summer from Kittyfeather Press.
FLB: Since I have asked before if you could bottle your sex drive and sell it and you just giggled. I will ask what is the secret to this multiple O’s you speak of?
SW: I suppose I should mention I’ll be 54 in April.  But if you were to meet me in person or if you have seen my author pics in my trashy lingerie (did I mention I’m also a kinky exhibitionist? *wink*) you would think I was in my late 30s.  A lot of that has to do with the fact I am an organic vegetarian and I jog 10 miles every week.  Oh, and I get a lot of sex.  What can I say?  I LOVE sex!  Most women who don’t have multiple Os are over-thinking it.  I tell people I do most of my thinking from the waist down.  That is especially true during sex.  Shut down your brain and just concentrate on your pussycat.  Groove on how good your hunky guy’s tool feel thrusting in and out.  Flow into every physical sensation.  Before you know it you’ll be having a screaming O much faster than usual.  I mean, who needs a brain when you’ve got a willing pussycat and a hunky guy with a hard tool?  Duh.  Just go for it, girlfriends!  Trust me.  I know what I’m talking about.  *lusty wink*

Interview & Giveaway with Zoe Winters

As promised I have another interview and giveaway for you.  I would like to introduce everyone to Zoe Winters. Everyone wave and please make Zoe feel welcome. 
Thank you Zoe so much for sitting down and taking time out of your very busy schedule to answer my questions.  I am looking forward to learning more about you and sharing you with my followers.  I hope that they love you just as much as I do! ♥ ♥ ♥
For the Love of Books: Please tell us a little about yourself Zoe
Zoe Winters: That’s such a broad question. And actually I’m pretty boring because I spend about 70% of my time in imaginary worlds. As my BFF says: “This is not your primary reality” LOL. Probably the most interesting thing about me is the books themselves. (I hope!)
FLB: Can you tell us what it means to be an Indie author for those of us who may not know?
ZW: Being an indie author is much like being an indie musician or filmmaker. It means you take all the financial risk to create and distribute your work, but you also have all the creative control. A lot of readers aren’t aware that your average published author has NO say in their cover art or even the title of their book. So if the cover sucks or doesn’t match the branding image the author wants to create? Tough cookies. Same with the title. There are also situations in which typos and problems slip into a work and they can be extensive. The author sometimes finds them before publication but the publisher says: “No, sorry, we can’t fix that now. It’s got to go out as is. We’re on a schedule.”
And I’m a control freak. I can’t even imagine how bad it would go if I had a traditional publisher. Unless they were paying me LOT of money and giving me total creative control (which I don’t expect to ever happen), I just can’t see that scenario playing out.
I have released work with typos (there are a few in Save My Soul that are annoying the crap out of me that I just discovered). But I get to FIX them. And I will be. I want my books to be the best quality they can possibly be for readers. I want the covers to be awesome, and I want the title to be what *I* chose. I neither need nor want someone else’s marketing department coming in and trying to take over and change the flavor of any aspect of my work or its packaging.
So that’s what being an indie means. Sure, a lot of self-published books suck, but I think you can tell pretty quickly how seriously someone takes their craft and the quality of the work they’re putting out. And indie authorship has gained a lot of support for readers. So thanks!
FLB:  Thank you for this insight Zoe, I am sure many readers are not aware of this; I know I was not aware of this!
FLB: Can you tell us a little about Bloodlust, which is made up of three novellas: Kept, Claimed, & Mated.  Which I totally loved by the way!!!!

ZW: Blood Lust is an anthology of 3 novellas that all happen in the same world, what I’ve started calling the “Pretverse” (for: The Preternaturals Series) One of the reasons I chose to start with novellas is to expand the world more quickly because this is very much a “everything’s connected but not all the same characters are in every book” type of series. I’ve got therians (politically-correct term for Were-creatures), vampires, demons, magic users, and a human world that mainly doesn’t know about this stuff. There are various political alliances and struggles and romances that feature snarky, yet vulnerable heroines and growly alpha badass heroes.
In Kept, Greta is a werecat that is slated for sacrifice by her tribe. So she goes to Dayne, a local sorcerer with a bad reputation and the only one strong enough to protect her.
In Claimed, Anthony is a vampire who accidentally almost kills the human woman he loves while he’s high on therian blood. She didn’t know before that point that he was a vampire. And she hadn’t been afraid of him before. He’s so ashamed, he accidentally wipes too much of her memory and gives her amnesia.
In Mated, Jane is a human who can sense vampires because she has vampire blood running through her veins, due to the fact that her mother was a vampire’s pet being fed vampire blood when she got pregnant. Jane senses them, without having any of their powers, so she’s a target. They can get into her head to read her but they can’t enthrall or control her. So she’s pretty much at the mercy of the vamps and one of them gives her to Cole, the leader of the werewolf pack as payment for a gambling debt.
FLB:  Tell us about your new release Save My Soul (SMS). This book follows Bloodlust, but is a standalone book. Correct? (Again, ♥ ♥ this story)

ZW: Save my Soul is part of the ongoing series, with one recurring character, Cain, who is introduced as a minor character in Mated and is the villain of SMS. But it can be read as a standalone. Someone can read SMS first and not be lost. Book three will start tying things in Blood Lust and SMS more tightly together.
Save My Soul is about an incubus who has been trapped in a house by a 50-yr-old curse. Anna buys the house and Luc decides he wants her soul. Plus he’s all hot and stuff, so that’s actually a hard choice. LOL Anna has loved the house since she was a kid and so she refuses to leave. Instead she involves a priest, ghost hunters, gypsies, and witches to try to help her get rid of him. At the same time, she’s trying not to fall for him because if she does, she could die. And that would be the best-case scenario.
FLB: I have to say that Luc is just to hot for his own good…☺ I hope to see more of him, now that my emotions are back in place after reading…
FLB: Can you tell us what you are currently working on?
ZW: Right now I’m finishing up a short story (editing stage) about Dayne and Greta from Kept. Its part of a short story anthology I’m doing with some other paranormal indie authors. Proceeds from the anthology will go to charity. (The exact charity is still being worked out, so that information will be forthcoming, at least by release, which should be around the first of March)  And I’m also working on book 3 of the Preternaturals series (Blood Lust, Save My Soul, and Insert Book Three Here).
FLB: When Zoe has the information on the charity I will post the link on the blog and may even have a challenge and reward offer for my followers.
FLB: I am sure you are asked this a lot, but I will ask anyways. What are your writing rituals?
ZW: I actually don’t have any. I mean, I work with an outline, but I don’t consider that a ritual so much as part of my process. I know a lot of writers play music or light candles or incense or sit in a special chair or under a tree or something. But I just start typing. Not sexy, I know. But there it is. Maybe I should come up with something awesome to say for when I’m asked this question: “I sit behind a waterfall a few miles from my home and listen to the birds chirp and write my rough draft on napkins”. That’s much more interesting than the truth!
 FLB:  Z, you crack me up!!!

FLB: What advice would you give someone who is thinking about trying to get into writing?
ZW: Write a lot and read a lot. There is a standard saying that you have to have written about a million words before you get to something that’s high enough quality to be published. And that’s very true. There are some who are just mega-awesome-talented who don’t have to write that many before they find success, but for most of us normal mortals, yes. If you can’t stand the idea of writing a million words that you might not publish, you may want to “say you’re a writer” more than actually “be a writer”.  And with self-publishing, the danger now is that a lot of people are going to publish not only their rough drafts, but the first thing they ever wrote. I’d advise against that, honestly. Put in the time and learn your craft.
FLB: Good tips thank you, I will keep that in mind when I am looking at my 63 words that I have written for my story… 1 million minus 63…. Crap I have a long way to go….
FLB: Is there anything else you would like to share with us or think that you we should know about you other then the fact that you are FREAKIN AWESOME for sitting down and doing the Q & A with me and being willing to giveaway one of your books?
