BOOK SYNOPSIS:
As if learning as much as possible about every alien race in the galaxy, fending off the advances both business and personal from a variety of Hollywood types, dealing with the assimilation of various alien races, and navigating the Embassy Daycare kids’ first day of “real” school wasn’t bad enough, President and First Lady Jeff and Kitty Katt-Martini must now deal with new robotic attacks that endanger every alien child on Earth, the resurgence of a bigger, nastier Club 51, and a variety of murders, all while facing the most truly terrifying organization they’ve ever encountered — the school’s Parent-Teacher Association.

REVIEW:
Another wonderful adventure with Kitty and crew! I think my favorite part of this story is Christopher on the ice! Speedy and ice don’t always mix! Awe, but I still love my Christopher. It is always fun to see Kitty in action. She has a way of thinking that at times has me scratching my head. Along with her ability to decipher musically clues makes her pretty much unstoppable.
In Alien Education Kitty has to deal with the PTA!! Yes, she is thrown into battle with the president of the PTA. There is a bake sale involved, a food fight and one very well aimed roll. We have an enemy that tries to bury the hatch and a new enemy show it’s hands. We also get to see how Jamie and baby Charlie are developing. These kids are going to run the universe very very soon!! And we get some Jeff & Kitty time!! Only thing better would be more Christopher!
I can’t wait to see what comes next for Kitty and crew!!

PUBLICATION DATE: May 3, 2016

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
The President and First Lady, aka Jeff and Kitty Katt-Martini, don’t get any downtime once the Mastermind has been revealed to the world. Not only do they have myriad high-level government positions to fill, but the scrutiny and pressure on this Administration has gone into overdrive.

The sudden reappearance of a long-forgotten adversary turns out to be the tip of the iceberg. New robots and androids attacking, old enemies making new alliances, and new aliens with interesting abilities almost overshadow the fact that the U.S. still has to host a peace summit at Camp David between Israel and Iraq. It’s clear that while the Mastermind may be down, there are plenty of others ready to take his place – and all that stands between them and success are Kitty and Company.

Kidnappings, rescues, creepy hideouts, a hidden black site, and a domestic dispute that could end Jeff and Kitty’s marriage are nothing compared to find not one but two hidden labs where dangerous and deadly things are brewing.

But when the President and his entourage finally get to the peace talks, things are no better. Mossad rightly suspects something’s wrong with both their Prime Minister and the President of Iraq. A hidden in-control superbeing, an android replacement, and an army of Fem-Bots turn the peace talks into a Battle Royale that the team might not actually survive. And if they don’t make it, Earth won’t make it, either.

But no pressure.

REVIEW:
As always Ms. Koch does an excellent job of bring us a fun and wild story. I would tell you that if you have not started this series you really need to start from book 1. There is so much that happens over the course of each book that if you pick up book #13 you would more than likely be lost. Even with the recaps. I still at times forget things that happened in the past. That being said this is a wonderful series with a kicka$$ main character that shows us anything is possible. And while I love Kitty, Christopher will always be my favorite!!!! EVER!!!!! But enough about my love for Christopher.
Camp Alien was a lot of fun to read. So much going on. At times I wish I had an cliffs notes to help me remember everyone and everything that happens. Kitty is up to all things Kitty in this story and keeps us on our toes with her wit and perfect timing for songs! I can’t wait to see what is next for Kitty, Jeff, the whole crew and the world.

AUTHOR: Gini Koch
PUBLICATION DATE: December 6, 2016

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
It’s a typical day of bureaucracy and stress for President and First Lady Jeff and Kitty Katt-Martini, made more stressful when alien spacecraft are spotted making a beeline for Earth, none of them from the Alpha Centauri system. Then a cryptic request from an old adversary pulls Kitty out of the White House and into an explosion—and an even more explosive situation. Not only is the Mastermind back in the game, influencing the Club 51 True Believers to find and destroy all Centaurion bases, but he’s also found a dangerous benefactor and created some frightening new cloning abilities.
And, just to make things a little more challenging, those alien spacecraft are coming to ask Kitty for protection, and asylum on Earth. Police stations being blown up and war helicopters in play aren’t enough to keep Kitty down, especially when she’s got some new alien friends helping out. But what these aliens share will rock the world—the other aliens on their way to Earth are fleeing an enemy so terrifying that even a Z’porrah ship is trying to get to Earth for safety and protection. And if Earth isn’t able to stop this threat, there may not be anything left of humanity. Now Kitty and Company have to figure out where the Mastermind is and stop him, before any new aliens land. And then they have to save the world from a deadly invasion. Or, as Kitty calls it, Thursday.

REVIEW:
Book 14!!! Crazy to think that we are 14 books into this series. Ms. Koch does an amazing job of keeping each story fresh and new even when/if the storyline carries over to another book. About the only bad thing I can say is that the cast of characters is so vast that I sometimes get confused on who and where we meet some of the side characters. But Ms. Koch does a pretty good job of reminding us as to when-ish we met said characters.
I really liked this book. I like that Kitty finally got someone to see that she is indeed “nuts” and the one in charge of everyone. My favorite part of this book was Kitty freaking out on Christopher (who is my favorite). I think I might have died laughing a little bit here. I also really liked the Chuck-a-Lowes!!! All in all another great story by Ms. Koch. I can’t wait to see what is next for Kitty, Jeff and crew.
And yes, this is book 14. While I think you should start from the beginning because, you will get to know Kitty, Jeff, Christopher and Chuckie so much better. But you could possible pick up one of the books and kinda know what is happening. But I say start at the beginning and experience all of Kitty and her awesomeness

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
The Mastermind has upped his game . . .

As Kitty can tell you, it’s not easy being the wife of the vice president – especially not when he’s an alien from the Alpha Centauri system. And being a parent of preternaturally talented children, don’t even go there. But she and her A-C husband, Jeff, have learned how to roll with whatever life and the bad guys throw at them – they think.

Kitty & Company have been savouring a few months of quiet since they got back from Beta Eight. But suddenly their peace is shattered by the arrival of a mysterious female assassin – who might be Jeff’s missing niece, Stephanie. And that’s just the beginning of the fun.

When the Alpha Centauri Planetary Council requests a visit with the president and vice president, things look politically dicey. When the most dangerous prisoners in the most secure supermax prison escape with ease, things look bad. But when the Mastermind releases a virus that kills people in a week, things go to Defcon Worse fast.

Now it’s up to Kitty to save everyone important in the U.S. government – including her mother, her husband, and herself – before the virsu spreads through the rest of the country, and then the world. Plus she’s facing invisible attackers, crazed assassins, a teenager in hiding, the most dangerous train ride ever, the disappearance of her beloved flyboys, and a mysterious alien who could be an enemy or the ally she needs.

and this time, the Mastermind’s made it very personal. Either he’s going down . . . or Kitty is.

REVIEW:
Long live Wolverine with Boobs!!! Kitty is back and she is not bothering to take names this time.
I really enjoyed the opening scene with Jamie complaining about Charlie. Cracked me up!! I would have loved to see more of the kid-o’s, but being at war is not the best place for them to be. And super excited that Becky is here!!!!
Each time I pick up one of Ms. Koch’s books I realized what a complicated and involved series this is (meaning you need to start with book one and read in order). I am very thankful that she recaps the characters. At times I feel like I need a cheat sheet to keep track of everyone. 🙂
This was a fun book because as always Kitty does some serious butt kicking and who knew she could drive a motorcycle so well. But sad at the same time because there were too many deaths. And damn it Mastermind got away AGAIN!!! Can’t he just be gone already??
I can’t wait to see what happens next because I am not sure that Earth is ready for the new President and First Lady. Oh and don’t forget the first children!!! Pack your bags Jeff & Kitty your shiny new house is White.

Not only because she hangs out with uber hot Aliens (love love love Christopher) but she is just an awesome character that gets thrown into situation after situation and always comes out on top, better and a tad bit wiser than when she started.
I am so excited for the next book in this series. I really can’t wait to see what the future holds for Kitty, Jeff and Jamie. :). And if I were Mastermind I would be very afraid….

Touched by an Alien

Katherine “Kitty” Katt #1

Kitty 1

Marketing manager Katherine “Kitty” Katt had just finished a day on jury duty. When she stepped out of the Pueblo Caliente courthouse, all she was thinking about was the work she had to get caught up on. Then her attention was caught by a fight between a couple that looked like it was about to turn ugly. But ugly didn’t even begin to cover it when the “man” suddenly transformed into a huge, winged monster right out of a grade Z science fiction movie and went on a deadly killing spree. In hindsight, Kitty realized she probably should have panicked and run screaming the way everyone around her was doing. Instead she sprinted into action to take down the alien.

In the middle of all the screeching and the ensuing chaos, a hunk in an Armani suit suddenly appeared beside her, introduced himself as Jeff Martini with “the agency,” and then insisted on leading her to a nearby limo to talk to his “boss.” And that was how Kitty’s new life among the aliens began…Touched by an Alien is the thrilling first installment of the Alien novels.

For Alien Super-Being Exterminator Katherine “Kitty” Katt, anti-alien conspiracies, threats from outer space, and a couple of killer alligators are all in a day’s work. It’s been five months since Kitty joined Centaurion Division, working with the aliens from Alpha Centauri. She and Jeff Martini have grown closer and life looks rosy. But when an experimental spacecraft is unexpectedly returned to the Kennedy Space Center, Kitty and the rest of Alpha Team are called on to investigate and are immediately embroiled in life-or-death situations that scream “political conspiracy.”

The team must survive murderous attacks, deal with a mysterious space entity that has seized control of a group of astronauts, and evade a woman who’ll do anything to eliminate the competition when she develops an obsessive crush on Kitty’s old high school boyfriend. And that’s all before the evil masterminds decide Kitty’s extermination is vital…Alien Tango is the thrilling second installment of the Alien series.

“…great fun, with lots of quirky characters, witty dialogue, a bit of romance, some hot sex, and oodles of action.” —Locus

Planning any wedding is hard enough, but Katherine “Kitty” Katt and Jeff Martini have a lot more to worry about than seating arrangements, because multiple inter-stellar invasions, Alpha Team in mortal peril, and inter-alien conspiracies are all on the guest list—and the gifts they’ve brought contain some explosive surprises.

The discovery that Martini is actually a member of the Alpha Centaurion Royal Family brings additional bad news—emissaries are on their way to see if Kitty’s royal bride material. And they’re not the only things coming from the Alpha Centauri system. Amazonian assassins, spies, alien beasties, shape-shifters, and representatives from the Planetary Council, combined with a tabloid reporter who’s a little too on the mark, create a deadly situation for Kitty and the rest of Alpha Team. When the assassins strike far too close to home for anyone’s comfort, Kitty realizes it’s going to come down to more than throwing a bouquet—she’s going to have to face an entire planetary consciousness and dethrone a monarch in order to make it to the church on time…

Alien vs. Alien

Katherine “Kitty” Katt #6

Kitty 5

Jeff and Kitty Katt-Martini and the rest of the American Centaurion Diplomatic Corps are still recovering from their introduction to Washington D.C. politics, parties, and conspiracies. So when compromising pictures arrive, no one’s too surprised. They’re also the least of anyone’s worries.

Evil androids running amok, birds of all kinds and from all places creating havoc, a Senator trapped in an ever-tightening web of intrigue, and escalating international tensions all seem tough but manageable. But the disappearance of Jeff Martini and Charles Reynolds during the International One World Festival signals more than the usual nastiness — and it looks like even ACE can’t help them.

Then new trouble arrives in old packages and even with the best hackers in the world, beings from near and far, the full might of Earth’s military, and the Wonder Twins on their side, Centaurion Division’s outmanned and outgunned.

Now Kitty’s racing against the clock to find not only Jeff and Chuckie, but to keep the peace between Middle Eastern countries, all while searching for the bases of super-soldier operations — to stop them or die trying.

*****

Alien in the House

Katherine “Kitty” Katt #7

Kitty 7

Jeff and Kitty Katt-Martini have learned the ins and outs of Washington politics, not to mention how to prevail in intergalactic war and foil dangerous plots. But, in the aftermath of Operation Destruction, the Gower girls’ powers are burned out, the entire A-C population has been “outed” as the aliens living on Earth that they are, and, worst of all, ACE is nowhere to be found.

Then murder and mayhem are served up at an important dinner party at the American Centaurion Embassy, and when the dust settles Alpha Team and the Diplomatic Corps have more problems than just a dead Congressman.

Is there a single criminal mastermind—or multiple enemies—behind all the conspiracies that want Kitty dead and the A-Cs gone or co-opted to become the War Division?

The return of the best assassins in the business, the reappearance of two individuals long-presumed dead, Agent Malcolm Buchanan felled by something no one can identify or cure, and new technology that can block even the most powerful empath on Earth … all of this means the game’s officially afoot.

Then Vance Beaumont comes to Kitty with a wild theory that someone is systematically killing off the House of Representatives…

It’s up to Kitty and the rest of the gang to find out what’s really going on and why. But will they be able to stop the killer or killers before the rest of the U.S. House of Representatives become casualties? And will the replacement Representative for New Mexico’s 2nd District, who happens to be Jeff Martini, be the next to die?

*****

Alien Research

Katherine “Kitty” Katt #8

Untitled-1

When rumors of a new super-drug surface, the FBI comes to Jeff and Kitty Katt-Martini for help. It becomes quickly apparent that the drug is merely the tip of a deadly iceberg and a much more insidious plan is underway involving Titan Security, Gaultier Enterprises, and YatesCorp.

As newly discovered A-Cs and hybrids begin to surface, each with expanded and deadly talents, more and more signs point to a new evil genius who’s using the A-Cs and their enemies both as guinea pigs. Then Area 51 and the Dulce Science Center go silent while Alpha Team, Airborne, and most of the worldwide A-C Security team are there for training. And if that’s not bad enough, Centaurion Division is hit with more bad, and deadly, news: Chernobog the Ultimate, isn’t a hacker myth, he’s a real person — and he’s on the bad guys’ side.

Now Kitty and company must find the real Dr. Feelgood and stop him or her before the latest version of Surcenthumain hits the streets and more people they love are harmed, or worse. But when the inconceivable happens, Kitty’s focused on two things only: reviving the ACE entity before their enemies realize Earth’s best protection isn’t actually active…and revenge.

Being the wife of the Vice President isn’t easy. Especially when your talents lie in kicking butt and rocking out . . .

Jeff and Kitty Katt-Martini find out just how easy it is for the wife of the Vice President of the United States to unintentionally insult an ally. Now they have to smooth things over with the Australian Prime Minister, pronto, or risk creating an international incident the worldwide anti-alien coalitions will be able to use to force Jeff to resign and the A-Cs to leave the planet.

But before Kitty can make things worse, a cosmic congruence and a little help from some powerful beings shoves her into another world — one where she’s been married to Charles Reynolds for years and aliens don’t exist. She’s also landed in the middle of a huge conspiracy and is marked for death . . . but at least that’s business as usual.

REVIEW:
In Universal Alien Kitty’s world gets turned upside down and things may never be the same.

I really liked Universal Alien. I will admit that when I first read the blurb I was really nervous. I didn’t want anything upsetting Kitty & Jeff’s story. But I trusted (after a bit of reassurance) and really liked this story. There were differently a few anxiety moments that I wished that “our” Kitty was with Jeff and the whole AC crew. But both Kitty’s were great and where they needed to be at the time. This world switch-a-roo also gave us a few answers to questions that have been plaguing us for many many books. But like always Ms. Koch give us just enough to drive us nuts with “oh goodness what is going to happen next”.

I have to say that I think that Jamie-Kat (both of them) stole the show for me. Jamie in both worlds is so accepting and so sweet. Jamie-Kat has easily become one of my favorites.

Love and Kitty.
Sounds like the beginning of a bad joke. But this is no joke just another day in the life of Kitty Katt-Martini saving the world.

I think if I could be one heroine I would choose to be Kitty. Not only is her husband smoking, her daughter beyond cute and she gets to hang out with my love Christopher, Kitty is a total kick ass person. And as always Ms. Koch gives us an amazing fun story filled with humor, sarcasm, action and Kitty and crew in kick ass mode.

In Alien vs Alien Kitty has to fight to clear her name while protecting her family and friends. I love reading about Jeff and Kitty’s love for each other. It reminded me so much of why I loved this series to begin with.

Oh and lest us not forget Chuckie!! Oh now we can’t forget something so important as Chuckie find love. YAY!!!! I am so glad that he is happy now and not pining after Kitty anymore.

I can’t wait to see what happens next.

REVIEW:
I must warn you that you may want to have some tissues while reading this book. More than a few tears were shed.

Another great story by Ms. Koch. Alien Research I think took me on the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in the series today. Because what the Koch giveth the Koch taketh away! And when she takes she does is in very dramatic fashion (hence the warning).
It was great to see Kitty & Jeff not so focused on their new Washington jobs and more focused on the people around them. As always the A-C crew has to battle the evil that is trying to take over the world. And as always Kitty is the ring leader in trying to stop it.

I am so glad that I am finally almost catch up on this series. I really should not get behind again. 🙂

If you are a fan of Gini Koch and her Katherine “Kitty” Katt series I am sure you will love Alien Research. But please heed my warning *sniff, sniff*

REVIEW:
I am always amazed about the amount of stuff going on in Ms. Koch’s books. It is kind of like looking through a stain glass window. You can kind of see what is outside, yet you are looking through many panels of glass and each is showing you a different image. The question should be is what you are seeing real? Or is your image distorted?

That all being said. In Alien Collective we find Kitty, Jeff, little Jamie-Kat and the whole A-C crew with their back against the wall again. This time it seems to be Jeff who is in the crosshairs. But the questions really is who is the real enemy and who can the A-C’s really trust? As always Kitty kicks some major. But it never hurts to have a little help from your friends. Thank goodness Kitty has some amazing friends.

If you have not started this series I believe you have to read this series in order There is so much that has happened to date that you would be a little lost. If you are a fan of Kitty’s series I think that you will enjoy Alien Collective.

I am looking forward to the next book in this series even if reading the blurb gives me a cause of anxiety. I will have to trust that the keeper of words knows what she is doing.

Writer’s Tips & Tricks Day 8: Permission to write by Gini Koch

T&T_edited-1

Permission to Write:

There are as many tips and tricks out there as there are writers, but I find that a lot of aspiring authors need two things in particular. (I, myself, needed one of them.) And they are both permissions. The permission TO write, and the permission to stink on ice WHILE writing.

I honestly didn’t feel I was a writer because I’d been taught (by an idiot, but that’s another story) that the only way you could write was to outline. I’d try to outline, and hours later have gibberish, and so concluded I wasn’t a writer. It took a friend who was already an author, poet, and journalist to tell me that I has as much “right” to write as anyone else. Her permission meant that I could write whatever and I felt that I was allowed to do so. So, for anyone reading this, if you’re in that same situation – I give you permission to write, whatever and however you want to, because you have just as much right to write as anyone else in the world.

I was already a successful businesswoman when I started writing, so I was well aware that the first stuff I wrote wasn’t going to be awesome. I knew then, just as I know now, that everyone needs to practice. No one starts out as Mozart other than Mozart himself. But time and time again I run into aspiring authors and even those who have started writing who feel that every word they write must be “perfect”. And that’s bullpookey.

Every author has a set number of words to write before they stop sucking. For most it’s in the hundreds of thousands. For some it’s in the millions. So the faster you write, the faster you get through your sucky words and into the good, then better, then better still, then publishable words. So, if you’re one of those who think that you have to somehow be as brilliant in your first attempts as Insert Name of Author You Adore Here, then I tell you that you don’t, and I give you permission to stink on ice for as long, and however many hundreds of thousands of words as it takes, for you to no longer stink.

There’s more, of course. There’s always more. But I’ll leave you with this one last thing, which relates to everyone’s favorite excuse: writer’s block.

It’s more important to write, even if it’s garbage, than it is to think about writing. Yes, thinking is necessary, but if your time spent thinking about writing exceeds your actual writing time, then you’re kidding yourself. Work out ideas in your head, sure, but be ready for them to change as you write them down. Don’t work out ideas in your head and just work them out as you write them down. Either way works. The key is that you write.

Should you suffer from writer’s block, the cure is simple – write. Sit your butt in your chair, and write something, anything. Remember – it doesn’t have to be good. No matter what level you’re at, there’s this thing we call editing and it means that you can write the worst crap in the world and it’s fixable. And if it’s not? If it’s the worst stuff ever written? No worries, you have permission to write that, remember. Just don’t publish it. No ideas? Write about that. Hate your idea? Write about that. Idea you’ve been saving? Write about that.

But still, write. Always write. The truth is simple: Writers write. So go on and be a writer.
