BOOK SYNOPSIS:
When ER nurse Nora Sellers is hurt in a hospital scuffle, firefighter Zach Walker blames himself. Blaming himself is nothing new. He’s been blaming himself for years for the trauma his baby sister endured as a teenager. Though with his happy–go–lucky attitude no one would know it. He’s good at his job, he’s a good brother, and a good friend, but Zach decided long ago he wasn’t husband and father material.

Even so, when Zach learns Nora is a single mother with a house that needs his help, he can’t walk away. After a few days with Nora and her ten month old son, he knows he doesn’t want to.

But Nora’s wary. She learned at a young age that the only person she can count on is herself. Now with a baby, a job, and a fixer–upper house, the last thing Nora wants is a sexy firefighter, making her heart flutter. But Zach is more than what he seems, and the more she gets to know him the harder he is to resist.

She’s been brave all her life. Can she be brave one more time and take a chance of a lifetime with her heart?

REVIEW:
Oh Claudia does it again! Claudia is easily in my top dozen favorite authors and probably in my top three for contemporary romance. When she set her heart to a story you can read every drop of love she puts into it. Zach and Nora’s story is no different.

I love the way Claudia writes single parent stories mainly because of the love that the children bring to her books. And Will just is adorable. You can imagine this sweet 10 month old right in your living room.

Claudia never disappoints. When I fell in love with Matt in Worth The Fall I knew I would love every one of the men Claudia introduces us to and I haven’t been wrong yet.

REVIEW:
3.75 Hearts So I love the McKinney brothers. Matt is one of my book-boyfriends from Worth The Fall. But this Walker boy just didn’t do it for me. Nick is nice and we met him in the previous book. This book actually has some moments where is takes place at the same time as when we met Hannah in Worth The Risk.

The problem is there was a lot of flashbacks of Mia and Nick’s love the first time around and I just didn’t feel the chemistry between them. In all honesty I think Nick was so stressed over Hannah (his sister) the entire time that she was his whole world. Mia is sweet and I love how she was/is with Hannah, even when Hannah is an adult.

Ok now all that being said. I still enjoyed this book. I read every word and didn’t put it down often. But I just didn’t fall for Nick like I have the McKinney boys. But we will see who is up next. These Walker boys may just turn me around.

worth it allTITLE: Worth It All
SERIES #: The McKinney Brothers #3
CHARACTERS: Paige & JT
AUTHOR: Claudia Connor
PUBLICATION DATE: 04/19/16
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
“Read Claudia Connor for a consistently raw and emotional love story,” recommends Carly Phillips. Now the swoon-worthy McKinney Brothers series from this bestselling author continues as JT, the youngest of the trio, discovers that only love can make him whole.

She’s fighting for control. . . . Paige Roberts learned to fend for herself growing up. Now she’s doing everything possible to give her daughter, Casey, the stability she never had. But when the vivacious five-year-old decides she’s done wearing her prosthesis, Paige faces her toughest challenge yet: trusting a handsome, brooding stranger who simply wants to help.

He’s struggling to connect. . . . JT McKinney lost more than his leg in a car accident that stole his dreams of pro football. Eight years later, he’s made a new life for himself far away from his old one. His business is developing cutting-edge prosthetics and he’s more than happy to turn his attention to machines instead of people. Still, he can’t shake the feeling that something’s missing.

Will they take a chance on love? . . . When JT gets the chance to help Paige’s daughter, he takes it. He never planned on the two of them tearing down his walls or teaching him to believe in himself again. Paige might not believe in happily ever afters, but JT wants more than anything to be her prince. They’ll both have to let go of the past if they want a future.

REVIEW:
So two or so years ago I fell in love with Matt (Worth The Fall). And now I have fallen in love with his baby brother, JT.

There is something about these McKinney boys that just steals your heart. Maybe it is the size of theirs and maybe it is the way they are with children but any reader would have a hard time not falling for one (or more) of these brothers. There is another brother, Stephen (Worth The Risk), but I have to say that Matt and JT are the two brothers that stole my heart.

JT lost his leg years ago and as the saying goes turned lemons into lemonade by designing better prosthetics for amputees but he has never forgotten or forgiven himself for how he lost his. Paige is a single mom who does everything she has to to make sure her daughter doesn’t have the life that she grew up in. When JT sees Paige something draws him in and then he meets her daughter, Casey, who is also an amputee and he can’t help but want to help mother and daughter. But he never imagines that he will lose his heart not only to Paige but to Casey as well. And that it will change his life so drastically.

JT is just beyond sweet. He has a heart of gold but forgot how to make it shine. Paige brings that back to him and I found myself enjoying her as much as I enjoyed him. And then of course Casey can steal any moms heart. She is such a typical five year old.

Claudia Connor quickly became one of my favorite authors after reading Matt’s story and I can’t tell you enough how she has remained high on my list as we have met the McKinney brothers. I worry that we are out of brothers (unless I counted wrong) but I know no matter what happens to the McKinney family Claudia Connor will deliver another story that will steal my heart…. But until then I will just have to split my heart between Matt and JT.

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
They meet on a beach. . . . Abby Davis isn’t wearing a skimpy bikini or sipping umbrella drinks, not when she’s busy chasing around four little ones. And Matt McKinney isn’t looking for fun—he’s a Navy SEAL, a grown man with a long list of missions . . . and fallen brothers.

They only have a week. . . . Abby has brought her children to this beach to start over, to give them the enjoyable memories they deserve. Matt’s been sidelined by a combat injury, and haunted by the best friend he lost and the promise he made: to remain a SEAL—focused and dedicated. This leaves no time for what he’s always wanted: a family.

But a week is all it takes. . . . Matt opens her heart while Abby soothes his soul. And though they plan to say good-bye when the week is over, something magical happens on that beach, something neither can forget. Something utterly, completely worth falling for.

REVIEW:
5+++ Hearts Let me say first off that no matter how many wonderful things I say about this book it will not be enough. I am beyond in love with this book. There is absolutely nothing, and I mean nothing, I can say bad about this book. Usually even when I love a book there is something, however small it might be, that I would change but there is nothing in this one. It is PERFECT!

First the characters are great. Matt and Abby are perfect together. Matt is a wonderful man and Abby is strong and loving. She is broken but somehow such a strong woman. She is raising 4 (and a ½) kids on her own and she is doing a great job. Matt is blown away by her and it really is love and first site. But what makes this book is the kids and the way Matt is with them. The scene at the end of the week and him saying goodbye had me crying. I mean crying… full tears and all. And that wasn’t the last time. I laughed too. And how many times I caught myself smiling at something was too many to count. This is a family that was meant to be.

Now the writing. What a great book Conner has written. She pulled out every emotion there is. She showed true love with humor and heartache. This was a book written from the heart and it must have used every ounce of hers. I am so thrilled this is a series but I can’t imagine any book she writes could possibly live up to this one but goodness I hope it does and I will have my eyes open every moment waiting for the release. I could go on and on but why do that when you can pick up the book and read it yourself and fall in love with the book, Matt, Abby and the kids.

worth the riskTITLE: Worth The Risk
SERIES #: The McKinney Brothers #2
CHARACTERS: Hannah & Stephan
AUTHOR: Claudia Conner
PUBLICATION DATE: 01/20/15
ORDER LINKS: Amazon| B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
When a McKinney brother falls in love, powerful emotion and overwhelming desire are never far behind.

Two hearts locked away . . . Hannah Walker spends her days coaching children through injury and trauma, one therapeutic horseback ride at a time. She knows all too well how violence can change a child and leave scars that never heal. It’s easy for her to relate to the kids; what isn’t easy is the thought of facing her own harrowing past.

Millionaire playboy Stephen McKinney could use a little coaching himself. Five years ago he encountered his most horrible nightmare—and the nightmare won. No matter what he achieves, nothing can make up for that awful night . . . or so he believes.

Both desperate for a second chance . . . Stephen is used to getting what he wants. And he wants Hannah. So when she turns him down, he’s intrigued. What he doesn’t know is that her secrets will lead him to a place he never wanted to go again . . . to a side of himself he’s tried to forget . . . a side that would scare Hannah away from ever loving him. Now his only chance to win her trust is to bare his soul, risking everything he tried so hard to protect.

REVIEW:
4.75 Hearts So first let me say that I am seriously glad that Claudia Conner put a post on her facebook page saying Stephen was nothing like Matt. Because it is so true. But as different as they are there is something similar about them and that is the way they love with their whole hearts even when they do not know they are loving someone.

I could compare the men over and over. I mean Matt in Worth The Fall is PERFECT! And he really is but Stephen is not and somehow that makes Stephen more real. Matt is the ideal that a woman dreams about but Stephen is the one a real woman would get… a real man with issues and problems and loves and hates.

Stephen and Hannah are both so broken and their lives have been parallel mostly. Stephen lived through his fiancee’ being killed by torture and Hannah was tortured beyond belief. And this is the story of how they move beyond it. I really enjoyed Stephen. Yes he can be off-putting but in a way we understand. But when he shows his love to Hannah and he puts himself out there it is with his whole heart. Something about these McKinney boys take your hearts and hold on.

Now about Hannah. Wow what a woman. She has been through what no woman can imagine going through and deals with it every day. And yet she has figured out how to make the world a better place because of her suffering. She is someone you want to be friends with and yet can see yourself becoming her protector just as much as her brothers are. And speaking of her brothers. I really really really hope that Claudia is considering writing their stories. They are just as attractive and swoon worthy as the McKinney boys so Claudia I am not only hinting I am coming right out and saying we need a Walker Brothers series.

BnK interviews Claudia Connor – Author of Worth The Fall – Kimberly’s favorite book of 2014

Kimberly has claimed WORTH THE FALL to be her “favorite book of 2014” so she asked Claudia to visit Books-n-Kisses.

WORTH THE FALL releases tomorrow. Pre-order it today!

image001Welcome Claudia thank you so much for stopping by to answer of our questions. First I want to say that I loved this book and gave it 5+++ Hearts. I laughed, cried and smiled throughout the whole book.(The review will be posting tomorrow.)

Claudia: Thank you so so much!!! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that!! Really.

BnK: Can you please share with us a little about yourself
Claudia: Hi. Thank you so much for having me. I majored in Early Childhood Education and taught kindergarten and first grade on and off for ten years. I married my first love and we have three daughters. Three teenage daughters, so, yes. Say a prayer for me.

BnK: Have you always wanted to be an author?
Claudia: No, I never considered myself a writer or even wanted to be a writer, BUT I’ve always had stories in my head. I see them in a flash like I’m watching a full color movie. I’ll catch myself staring out the window, smiling. Or even crying. One day I described the above to my friend, thinking everyone did that. She gave me a really strange look and said, “No. That’s not normal. Maybe you should try writing it down.” So I did.

BnK: Can you share with us your typical writing day. Is there anything you have to have while writing?
Claudia: I get my kids off to school and usually start working around seven, after I finish my tea. ~ I recently switched to black tea in my Keurig after a trip to Europe. LOVE it. ~ I take a short break for lunch, no more than ten minutes, then back at it until the kids get home at 2:15. They’re teenagers, so there isn’t much talk before they disappear to their rooms for homework and post-school decompression. I go back to work until I need to drive someone somewhere around 5. Most days I put in a few more hours after everyone’s asleep, until around midnight. If I don’t feel time crunched, or I’ve had a particularly good day, I’ll reward myself with a good book.

What do I absolutely HAVE to have? Other than pen and paper, and that paper can be a receipt or a napkin, a Diet Coke. There just comes a time a can not function without a Diet Coke and it is the one and only thing I will leave the house for when I’m on a deadline. And by leave the house, I mean drive two minutes to Walgreens in my pajama pants with a quick jacket over my pajama shirt.

Screen Shot 2014-08-26 at 11.05.09 PM

BnK: Most challenging or rewarding part of writing?
Claudia: The most challenging thing for me so far is not having enough hours in the day. I’m just beginning to get the incredible reward of readers telling me they loved my book and that it meant something to them. That’s the absolute best.

BnK: Can you please tell us about your latest book?
Claudia: Sure. Worth The Fall is a love story, plain and simple, though love is never simple. Abby and Matt are two people with no other reason to be together and lots of reasons to be apart. Matt’s a Navy SEAL hero with skills, badassness, and an intense sense of responsibility, but he’s also a man with so much love to give. He’s just never found anyone he wanted to give it to. Until Abby. But Abby’s been left all her life and knows she can’t watch another person walk away.

So it’s about falling in love, making choices and taking chances. It’s also about believing you’re enough, believing you’re worthy of what’s being offered. I absolutely LOVE these characters. I spent three years with them before I ever considered writing their story, then almost three more years writing it. Any minute of any day I can pop into their lives, be a fly on the wall. It’s like watching your favorite movie that never ends! Hopefully when people read the book they’ll feel the same.

BnK: How did you come with the idea for this story?Screen Shot 2014-08-29 at 9.57.05 PM
Claudia: I honestly don’t feel like I come up with anything or create anyone, as odd as that may sound. I didn’t go into it wanting it to be a certain way, I just saw it playing out in my head like a movie. I watched and listened and hope I did them justice. I’m a constant thorn in the side of anyone who offers suggestions for changes because I always reply with, But that’s not how it happened!

BnK: Who are some of your favorite authors?
Claudia: I have TONS of favorite authors. Let’s see…Kristan Higgins, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Linda Howard, Sharon Sala, Catherine Anderson, J.D. Robb ( Nora Roberts), and Christine Feehan, just to name a few.

BnK: Do you feel that any of your favorite authors have inspired your writing style?
Claudia: Definitely. I’m sure they’ve all influenced me through osmosis. And just about everything I’ve learned about story telling and romance has come from reading, beginning with my first Sweet Valley High.

Screen Shot 2014-08-26 at 10.02.53 PMBnK: Open your book to a random page and please reads us a few lines.
Claudia: “I used my knife to cut off the damaged parachute so I wouldn’t get tangled in it, then I pulled—”
Their eyes met. His heated gaze slid from her face, over her chest and the V-neck sundress that tied around her neck. He continued his perusal slowly down the length of her legs and back up again.
“Hi.” That was all she could manage with his hot eyes melting her from across the room.

BnK: What is in your To Read Pile that you are dying to start or upcoming release you can’t wait for?
Claudia: I’m anxious to read Kristan Higgin’s new book, In Your Dreams. I’ve been waiting for Jack’s story.

BnK: Is there anything else you would like to add?
Claudia: Thank you so much for having me. I really appreciate it and hope readers will check out Worth The Fall and let me know what they think. I’m in all the usual social media places. In addition to the ones below, readers can find me on Pinterest. I have a special board for each book. Thank you again:)
