BOOK SYNOPSIS:

After a devastating family secret is exposed, all she wants now is to escape the media hype that follows her everywhere she turns. Leaving her family, friends, and Jason behind, she travels to places she’s only read about, to find a father she’s never known.
Jason is on a mission and he’s come halfway around the world to complete it. Despite his feelings for Katie, he won’t let her resistance deter him, even if it means she’ll never trust him again. As their world spirals out of control, their relationship will be tested and changed forever. If he can keep them alive and out of harm’s way, he may have a chance to make everything right.
REVIEW:
3.75 Hearts This is a sweet story of a woman who decides to take some “me” time but her best friend Jason follows.
There was a lot of things happening in this story but they were fun and enjoyable to read. The characters are written very well. I believe this is a re-release because it shows the date of 2013 and it does have a couple things I found dated but nothing that distracts from the story.
This is a great beach read. And easy read that takes you out of your head.

BOOK SYNOPSIS:

She may be his as well…

Scouring the countryside, his search leads him to a mysterious woman who maintains the boy is hers. He decides to take them both and ask questions later.
Deidre MacIntyre will go with the brooding laird if it will keep her son safe. Gavin has to admit that the beautiful lass has a bond with Ewan, and things aren’t adding up. When Deidre’s clan comes to claim her under threat of war, Gavin has a choice to make: fight for her or let her go.
REVIEW:
I have been waiting and waiting for Gavin’s story. It seems Gavin has been withdrawn since his son was taken away and we have wondered we he was in each story of the series.
Now we meet Ewan and the woman he calls “mother”. And it doesn’t take too long for Gavin to realize he is not given either up.
I had a hard time with Deidre when she was first introduced but she grew on me. And seeing Gavin differently and with his son was wonderful.
Loved this series and this story especially.

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
NYT bestselling author Carrie Ann Ryan concludes a brand new series where second chances don’t come often, and overcoming an unexpected loss means breaking everything you knew.
The day I lost my best friend was the day I realized that I’d been living in the past. I’ve tried to find a way to heal, to mend that break. Somehow, I came through it partially whole. But I know I couldn’t have done that without Aiden Connolly.
The problem is, he once loved my best friend. And now she’s gone, and I refuse to be in that shadow, or worse, a replacement for someone we both loved.
~~
I left them all behind.
My brother.
My family.
My best friend.
And her.
Only Sienna Knight doesn’t realize what she means to me. But before I can make sure she knows, I need to figure out exactly what that is.
REVIEW:
I can’t remember ever reading a non-paranormal book from Carrie Ann Ryan. To be honest I haven’t read anything lately from her but I must have missed the first two in the series but I will go back to read them.
There was so much to this story. But I loved how it was in the point of view of both characters. And I really enjoyed how the time of no communications built to the conversations that turned deep very quickly.
The friends and family are also nice background characters.
Worth every minute!

SERIES #: Krewe Of Hunters #28
CHARACTERS: Kerri & Joe
AUTHOR: Heather Graham
PUBLICATION DATE: 07/23/19

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
THE TRUTH IS SCARIER THAN FICTION
Kerri Wolf has joined the crew of The Seekers, a show that searches for paranormal phenomena, as they explore a supposedly haunted old inn on the road between Philadelphia and Harrisburg. The place is famous for its warm welcome—and infamous for being the site of an ax murder rampage in the 1920s. They’ve barely begun when a very real dead body is discovered in the basement. As a nonfiction author, Kerri is supposed to be the rational one, but she can’t explain a terrifying apparition that seems to be both a threat and a warning.
Former detective Joe Dunhill knows what she’s going through—the strange gift of being able to see and talk to the dead is a struggle he shares. A new member of the FBI’s Krewe of Hunters, he’s on the team investigating the disturbing death. The town is steeped in old-fashioned superstition, and the deeper Joe and Kerri plunge into the dark secrets of the inn, the closer they get to a devastating truth. Will a bloody history be repeated? Or can the spirits of the past reach out to stop a killer?
REVIEW:
This series is easily one of my favorites in the genre. What I like most is the setting. Graham always makes me want to jump on a plane and head to the newest setting of the series. Having spent some time is PA lately I wanted to head to the Philly side and see where she was talking about.
This is a series with a lot of books but all of them can be a stand alone. But as with any series reading from the beginning is best. But mostly the Krewe Of Hunters are detectives who use ghosts to help with their case.
I always have a hard time figuring out “who-dun-it” which I enjoy.
Any fan of suspense with a bit of paranormal will love this book and this series.

The most unputdownable psychological thriller you’ll read this year from the bestselling author K.L. Slater. If you love The Wife Between Us or Gone Girl, you’ll be totally hooked on The Silent Ones.
REVIEW:
4.25 Hearts What a great suspenseful story. This one had me all over the place. Seems every time I thought I had the story figured out I was very wrong.
The family is interesting in their dysfunction. The girls are remaining silent. I mean totally silent which we do not understand. The mom’s are desperate and scared.
This is a really good story that will keep you turning the pages. Very few books keep me unsure of “who-dun-it” so long into the story but this one did.
Highly recommended. If you are a fan of the genre you will be thinking of this one for a long time.

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Sherlock Holmes has only been deceased a month when Dr. John Watson, still grieving, recounts his final case with Holmes. A terrifying mystery, it sends Watson and Holmes into the dark reaches of London’s back alleys – and the human soul.
It begins when Anne Prescott, a lovely Scottish nurse, begs Sherlock Holmes and Watson to help her find her fiancé and her sister, who have gone missing in the teeming streets of London. Immediately, Watson feels an attraction to her that shocks him. Newly married to Mary, and deeply in love with her, he struggles to put Anne out of his mind.
As Watson and Holmes dig into the slums and sewers of London looking for Anne’s fiancé and sister, they uncover a deadly web of bloody murders, horrific medical experiments, and even voodoo ritual that threatens not only London, but the entire British empire, and beyond.
Watson must call on his unique combination of expertise in the medical sciences, as well as his military training to stop this killer before London —and Anne — are lost to the killer’s bloody plan.
But time is short and the mystery ever more complex. How can he manage his feelings for Anne? What about his loyalty to Mary? He can’t have both.
REVIEW:
3.25 Hearts Here is the thing… You have to take your head out of the Conan-Doyle way of Sherlock Holmes was written. As new authors pick up this character we have to learn to enjoy Holmes and Watson in a new way.
This is written as if in Watson’s diary of the events. The storyline is well written and enjoyable. The suspense is typical of a Holmes book.
I look forward to read another one from this author to see how the characters grow under his writing.
