Adrenaline-charged and filled with harrowing twists at every turn, The Wrong Man will keep readers riveted until the final page.

NATASHA’S REVIEW:

I enjoyed this book so much. It was such a page-turner, I couldn’t put it down. I love a good suspense thriller and this was definitely that! Kit is a strong female lead character who I enjoyed getting to know. She makes one decision that drastically changes the course of her life. At first is happens in small ways that seem embarrassing, but not too big a deal – then the danger sets in! I liked how this book kept me guessing until the end. One big twist was fairly predictable, but not all of the ending was, which was good. I kept second guessing myself and my predictions until the very end. Great characters, great suspense, great read.

Kimberly reviews Under Contract by Jeffe Kennedy

under contractTITLE: Under Contract
SERIES #: Falling Under #3
CHARACTERS: Ryan & Celestina
AUTHOR: Jeffe Kennedy
PUBLICATION DATE: 07/13/15
ORDER LINKS: Amazon |B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
The kinkier the sex, the higher the price tag…
Ryan Black has admired Celestina Sala from afar for years, her lush body and sensual nature calling to the dominant in him. For just as many years, Celestina was off-limits—married, proud and self-sufficient. But all that has changed, and now Celestina is in debt and in need…and available. Ryan proposes a contract: he’ll pay off her debt if she gives herself to him in bed, yielding control in exchange for the pain and pleasure he’ll bring them both.

There are words for women who take money for sex, and none of them are nice ones. Celestina never thought she’d have to sink this low, but giving up control sounds more enticing than ever before. And suddenly it’s not about having to give in to Ryan. It’s about wanting to.
But when Ryan’s dark past comes to light, they may both be in over their heads. The terms of his contract say her body is his…but her heart may be another story.
One thing is for sure—now that Ryan has Celestina, he can never let her go.

KIMBERLY’S REVIEW:
I wasn’t sure about this story but I am a fan of Jeffe Kennedy’s so I always request her books from NetGalley so I picked this one up too. And I am really glad I did.

Both Celestina and Ryan are suffering from loss even though they are very different kinds. What makes this work so well is they have had an attraction for a while they just were not in a place to do anything about the attraction but now they can. Ryan is not obnoxious about the money and power he has and I appreciated that. Celestina is a great character has well.

Kennedy wrote a really good book with this one and as always I will stay a fan.

CHARACTERS: Al Waters & Elizabeth “Lou” Johnson
AUTHOR: Amy E. Reichert
PUBLICATION DATE: July 21, 2015
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
YOU’VE GOT MAIL meets HOW TO EAT A CUPCAKE in this delightful novel about a talented chef and the food critic who brings down her restaurant—whose chance meeting turns into a delectable romance of mistaken identities.

In downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lou works tirelessly to build her beloved yet struggling French restaurant, Luella’s, into a success. She cheerfully balances her demanding business and even more demanding fiancé…until the morning she discovers him in the buff—with an intern.

Witty yet gruff British transplant Al is keeping himself employed and entertained by writing scathing reviews of local restaurants in the Milwaukee newspaper under a pseudonym. When an anonymous tip sends him to Luella’s, little does he know he’s arrived on the worst day of the chef’s life. The review practically writes itself: underdone fish, scorched sauce, distracted service—he unleashes his worst.

The day that Al’s mean-spirited review of Luella’s runs, the two cross paths in a pub: Lou drowning her sorrows, and Al celebrating his latest publication. As they chat, Al playfully challenges Lou to show him the best of Milwaukee and she’s game—but only if they never discuss work, which Al readily agrees to. As they explore the city’s local delicacies and their mutual attraction, Lou’s restaurant faces closure, while Al’s column gains popularity. It’s only a matter of time before the two fall in love…but when the truth comes out, can Lou overlook the past to chase her future?

Set in the lovely, quirky heart of Wisconsin, THE COINCIDENCE OF COCONUT CAKE is a charming love story of misunderstandings, mistaken identity, and the power of food to bring two people together.

KELLY’S REVIEW:
4.5 Hearts The Coincidence of Coconut Cake is Amy E. Reichert’s debut novel. And it was a delightful book!!! While the storyline was a tad bit predictable, the characters and the journey were still a lot of fun to read. Oh and the coconut cake. Oh man!! I love me some coconut cake I am going to have to make this cake. Thank you Amy for including the recipe. Okay back to the review.
I really enjoyed Lou. She made me want to be her friend. I felt so much for everything that she goes through in this story. Lou may have thought she knew what she wanted but Fate always seems to have other plans.
Al, oh man!!! Let me just say that this Brit has it going on. He is a bit of a, how do I want to put this, stick in the mud in the beginning I fell in love with his stuffy, khaki wearing, grumpy, I can’t wait to leave this place, pain in everyone’s back side.
I really enjoyed this story. If you are looking for a fun, light and quick read that will leave you craving coconut cake. Or if you are looking for a new author to check out. I would suggest giving Ms. Reichert’s a try.
Can’t wait to see what she has next for us.

REVIEW:
OH how I have waited for this book!!!! I am so glad that Jennifer was able to find the time to write Linc’s book. It was great to get back into the world of the Wing Slayer Hunters.
In Caged Magic we learn a whole lot more about Linc and his past. I past that is beyond heartbreaking, yet it made him be a very strong person. We learn more about his Falcon and he is pretty darn amazing. We also get to see a side of Linc I was not sure we would ever see.
Risa had a great life until her mother died, then everything went to hell. Risa is one tough cookie. She has dealt with so much in her past that it is amazing she has survived. But when Kendall’s life is on the line she will do everything to save the child.
Loved Linc & Risa together. Loved their battle to trust and love. Really liked the depth that Jennifer took us to with Ram and Eli. And SUPER excited to know that their stories are coming soon.
To my fellow Wing Slayer Hunters: hang on this is a bumpy ride!!!!!
To my newbies: you really need to start with book one Blood Magic. There is a lot of history that builds up to this book. And hey there are only 4 books in front of this one. Easy to get catch up!!!

Until we meet again Wing Slayers Hunters!!! Oh and Key??? You better show up more in the next book. Miss you and your dragon.

PUBLICATION DATE: 07/07/15
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:

But when Sawyer goes after the perp who brutally beat his sister, he teams up with Chloe Nash, a sexy private investigator who awakens a sweet new need: to keep her to himself, away from the dungeon of Club Sin. Chloe is beautiful, smart, and too innocent for the BDSM lifestyle. Sawyer’s never wanted a woman like this before. Is her love worth swearing off the one thing that keeps him sane?

There’s something different about Sawyer: a commanding strength that pulls Chloe into a vortex of heady desire. But when she learns about his double life as a Dom, she’s shocked—and afraid she could never complete him. Then he saves her life, and just like that, Chloe knows she will be able to give him anything he desires. She is his—wherever and however he wants to take her.

REVIEW:
4.5 Hearts This might be my favorite of the Club Sin series so far. I can’t tell you everything I want to because it would most certainly have spoilers and I don’t want to spoil any part of this story. It is a short story with under 140 pages but so much happens.

I have liked Sawyer from first meeting him. Something about him had a bit of a difference than the others and now I understand why. And Chloe. What a great character she is. She is someone I would want to be friends with and I think that is one of the best compliments you can give an author.

**Possible spoilers but I am trying not to ** But what I really enjoyed was the ending. It is a bit different than the normal BDSM story so I found myself feeling more committed to the story because of that. Sawyer had me from page one but I fell all over again for him at the end of the book.

Another great story from Kennedy. If you enjoy the genre you will most certainly enjoy this series and while I suggest reading all of them you don’t need to to read this one. And this read is worth it.

REVIEW:
3.75 Hearts WOW!!! This was one messed up book. Messed up in the fact that the killer is one twisted freaking crazy person. Messed up that Kristine has to go through so much hell because of one sick and twisted person. Messed up that I don’t think I will ever stop at a freeway rest stop ever again. EVER!!!! Did I say ever? Because I mean NEVER EVER EVER again!!!!
This was a good book that keeping you on the edge of your seat. I did figure out what was happening early on but the why’s behind it gave me chills. I often wonder what goes on in the mind of a suspense novelist. Then I think “Might be better off not knowing”.
In short: I liked the book. Glad I read it. Would I recommend to everyone. No, not everyone. This book is twisted, gnarled and millions times messed up that will leave you with night terrors, but……… If you are into that then you would love Swerve. If you are into fun loving, unicorns and rainbows, you might want to skip this book. UNLESS you are willing to go out of your comfort zone. BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Keri Arthur, New York Times bestselling author of Fireborn, presents the thrilling new Souls of Fire Novel featuring Emberly Pearson, a phoenix that can transform into a human—and is haunted by the ability to foresee death….

But their mission is jeopardized by another threat uncovered in Emberly’s prophetic dreams. A creature of ash and shadow has been unleashed on a murdering spree. Now Emberly must summon all her gifts and investigative knowledge to put an end to this entity’s brutal rampage—even if it means placing herself in harm’s way….

REVIEW:
3.5 Hearts Emberly is a strong female character lead – I enjoy her a lot. This book was another interesting installment in this new series and offered answers to lingering questions. I’m curious how the story line will continue from here, it’s going to be very exciting. There are lots of characters in this series, and sometimes they get mingled together, but they’re all intriguing and you want to see more of them. Emberly reminds me a lot of Keri’s heroine Riley Jensen – which is a big compliment, since I loved that series. I’ll keep following the series, I want to see what’s in store for these characters. It seems Emberly is destined for an eternity of heartbreak and my fingers are crossed she’ll find her happy lifetime! Keri Arthur writes very creative stories with characters you fall in love with, even if sometimes the complexity gets a little deep.

PUBLICATION DATE: July 7, 2015
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
In a world on the brink…

Six men. One sunken Spanish galleon. Millions in gold and silver coins lying on the ocean floor. And a past that refuses to let the guys of Deep Six Salvage forget the Navy SEAL motto: the only easy day was yesterday…

There’s more than one kind of treasure…

The nation’s security has always been CIA agent Olivia Mortier’s top priority. But a mission-gone-wrong has begun to make her wonder if there’s more to life than risking hers.

And more than one secret at the bottom of the sea…

Only two things could make Leo Anderson abandon his hunt for the legendary lost ship, La Santa Christina, and return to the world of weapons and warfare he swore to leave behind: a capsule of enriched uranium, lost on the ocean floor, and a plea for assistance from the one woman he can’t seem to forget.

REVIEW:
WOW!!! When Julie Ann wants to start a new series she does it in style. Hell or High Water is book one in the Deep Six series and we get to me Leo “The Lion” Anderson and his band of merry men. They are all ex-Navy SEALs. All trying to put a real life together after a promise to a fallen comrade. But of course things can’t so smoothly. Oh no…. smooth would be to easy.
I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed learning about all the guys a little. Their backstory is heartbreaking and I will admit I shed a few tears. The adventure kept me turning the pages. The tension between Leo & Olivia was a perfect balance to tug and pull. It was also great to get a little cameo from one of Ms. Walker’s Black Knight Inc. characters 🙂
I can’t wait to see what is next for this six guys. The future is looking pretty bright even if they have to go deep to find it.

seal wolf huntingTITLE: SEAL Wolf Hunting
SERIES #: Heart of the Wolf #16
CHARACTERS: Paul Cunningham & Lori Greypaw
AUTHOR: Terry Spears
PUBLICATION DATE: July 7, 2015
ORDER LINKS: Amazon | B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
Paul Cunningham is one of the only bachelors left on the SEAL wolf team, and he’s less than thrilled to hear he’s been volunteered for a local charity bachelor auction.

Lori Greypaw suspected that her grandmother would use the auction as an opportunity to fix her up. So she’s not surprised when she “buys” Paul to help Lori renovate her mountain cabin for a week. Lori’s had a crush on the sexy SEAL wolf for years, but he proves to be handy with more than a hammer when two fugitives come knocking and he’ll do anything to protect the woman he’s falling for.

REVIEW:
I enjoyed SEAL Wolf Hunting. But at time the book was a little slow to me. There was not a ton of action in this book. It seemed like this was more of a coming home second chance at life book. Paul Cunningham loves being a SEAL, but he loves his family more. He has always known at some point in time he was going to have to step in to the role as Alpha, but he has not been ready. I liked Lori a lot in this book. She can kick some serious butt when needed and knows when she is in over her head. I liked Paul & Lori together. They make a great team and a great Alpha couple.
I am hoping that the next book in the series is Allen’s and we get to stay with the Cummingham pack a little longer so we can see how everyone is doing.
Until next time SEAL Wolfs… Until next time.

AUTHOR: Jill Shalvis

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
RESCUE ME

Cedar Ridge, Colorado, is famous for crisp mountain air, clear blue skies, and pine-scented breezes. And it’s the last place Lily Danville wants to be. But she needs a job, and there’s an opening at the hottest resort in her hometown. What has her concerned is the other hot property in Cedar Ridge: Aidan Kincaid-firefighter, rescue worker, and heartbreaker. She never could resist that devastating smile . . .

The Kincaid brothers are as rough and rugged as the Rocky Mountains they call home. Aidan has always done things his own way, by his own rules. And never has he regretted anything more than letting Lily walk out of his life ten years ago. If anyone has ever been in need of rescuing, she has. What she needs more than anything are long hikes, slow dances, and sizzling kisses. But that can only happen if he can get her to give Cedar Ridge-and this bad boy-a second chance .

REVIEW:
Cider Ridge is the setting for Ms. Shalvis’ new series. We get introduced to the Kincaid family and their struggles to keep the family business afloat. In Second Chance Summer we focus on Aidan the second oldest of the Kincaid kids. There is nothing more important than family to Aidan. Except maybe the girl that broke his heart who just happens to be back in town. As we read we learn why family is so important and why some people are not. We also learn a lot about what Aidan is willing to do for love.
Lily is only back in town because she has not choice. If she had it her way she would have never stepped foot in this town again. But while there may be too many bad memories, Lily is about to find out that facing the past is the key to healing and having a bright future.
Loved it!! I love that we have a new series from Ms. Shalvis. I always love reading her books and getting engrossed into the world she has created. Loved Aidan. Everyone needs someone like Aidan in their life. Someone they know will drop everything for them and run to their rescue, even when they don’t think they need to be rescued.
Lily, she is was smart tough cookie that finally learns that it is okay to be rescued. I really liked the struggle that Lily went through in this book. I think that by the end she is a force to be reckoned with and the Kincaid kids need to watch out.
If you have read any of the Jill’s books in the past you will love this book too. She has all the drama, humor, witty characters, the is it time to grab a tissue and very yummy smexy time that you will find in all Jill’s books. If you have not read Jill yet, please refer to the previous sentence about “the drama, humor, witty characters, the is it time to grab a tissue and very yummy smexy time”. So in short: add this book to your read list!!!

Kimberly reviews Somebody I Used To Know by David Bell

Someone i used to knowTITLE: Somebody I Used To Know
CHARACTERS: Nick Hansen
AUTHOR: David Bell
PUBLICATION DATE: 07/07/15
ORDER LINKS: Amazon| B&N

BOOK SYNOPSIS:
The breakout author of The Forgotten Girl and Cemetery Girl, “one of the brightest and best crime fiction writers of our time” (Suspense Magazine) delivers a new novel about a man who is haunted by a face from his past….

When Nick Hansen sees the young woman at the grocery store, his heart stops. She is the spitting image of his college girlfriend, Marissa Minor, who died in a campus house fire twenty years earlier. But when Nick tries to speak to her, she acts skittish and rushes off.

The next morning the police arrive at Nick’s house and show him a photo of the woman from the store. She’s been found dead, murdered in a local motel, with Nick’s name and address on a piece of paper in her pocket.

Convinced there’s a connection between the two women, Nick enlists the help of his college friend Laurel Davidson to investigate the events leading up to the night of Marissa’s death. But the young woman’s murder is only the beginning…and the truths Nick uncovers may make him wish he never doubted the lies.

REVIEW:
I have not read this author before but I will be reading him again. This story had a number of different twists which meant it was a quick read for me since I could not put it down.

So in general Nick is thrown back into his past to the life, love and death of Marissa when a woman who is the spitting image of her is seen on the street by him and as hard as that is to deal with alone the next day the cops show up because the woman has been found dead. So Nick is thrust into the death of this mystery woman as well as reliving the death of Marissa.

I really enjoyed Nick. The writing was concise and enjoyable. With all the twists I was unable to figure out pretty much anything. Every time I thought I had the mystery figured out I was proven wrong and that to me is the ideal when reading a book like this.

If you are a fan of the genre than I think you will enjoy this. You will not be disappointed.
