Top 10 Favorite Romance Books
I’m a hopeless romantic and always have been, so trying to come up with a list of my Top 10 favorite romance novels was tough! There are so many AMAZING romance novels out there, regardless of whether you’re looking at some of the earliest ever written or those coming out as we speak. This list could’ve easily been a top 100! But here are just a few of my faves in no particular order:
1) Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen – Is there anyone who doesn’t love this book??? So much awesome…
2) Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë – Talk about love conquering all…
3) Persuasion by Jane Austen –Woefully underrated but probably my favorite by Jane Austen.
4) Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier – Arguably more a mystery than a romance, but still one of my all-time faves.
5) The Golden Chronicles series by Patricia Veryan – My all-time favorite historical romance series. LOVE these books. Sadly, they’re out of print now, but you can still find used copies here and there.
6) The Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian – My favorite paranormal romance series. I discovered it when I was home with pneumonia a few years ago and promptly became a Lara Adrian fan-girl. LOVE her writing. You should also check out her other series as well—they’re all fantastic!
7) Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë – Tragic, sweeping romance with literary conventions at every turn. A scholar’s dream novel. What’s not to love?
8) Shattered Past series and/or Weird Girls series by Cecy Robson – Cecy is one of my dearest friends, but I can say without bias that her work is incredible. Just be prepared to have your heart ripped out.
9) Emily of New Moon series by L.M. Montgomery – This series will always be dear to me. I was twelve years old when we moved across the country and a family friend gave me the Emily series as a gift. More a coming of age story than a true romance, but the romance thread between Emily and Teddy is there from the beginning and ties the novels together. It was the first time I got so angry with a character’s romantic decision that I threw a book across the room.
10) The Oval Amulet by Lucy Cullyford Babbitt – I read this YA fantasy romance in high school in the early 90’s, but I still think about it from time to time, so I’d have to rank it as one of my all-time favorites. Definitely one I’d recommend reading if you can find it.

Love the cover, cannot wait to read.
I remember reading P & P, Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights and loving them in high school but have to admit I’m into much more “grown up” books as I like to call them for my daughters like Lara Adrian’s Midnight Breed series which I always devour new releases of now.
Thanks so much!
I’m so psyched for the release of STOP AT NOTHING. Stories about long lost loves and to-die for badass alphas? Yes, please.
i would love to read this!
I’ve never been very big on Classics other than Huckleberry Finn, Moby Dick, To Kill a Mockingbird, Tom Sawyer, Dracula and Lord of The Rings.
I do love to read romantic suspense books though!!!
