Judy Blume was my first romance read…I think it was Deanie but that’s not real romance…that would be her book Forever. I haven’t read it recently and I still own the book; it’s in the attic looking pretty shabby as i read it a lot when I was a teen! 🙂
Not sure if Twilight counts… but other than that – Sherrilyn Kenyon’s “Fantasy Lover”. I’ve read all of her books and hundreds more. It was the beginning of an obsession 🙂
I remember it vividly! I went to the library and picked up a copy of Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Night Pleasures. I ended up devouring the whole series and I have never looked back. I have only been reading romance for about 5 years.
The very first romance that started me along the romance road for life was a book from my mother’s stash, halfway hidden behind her livingroom chair. It was Forever Amber by Kathleen Winsor. That did it for me…I was a romance addict from then on. 🙂
The first romance I read is a Harlequin Romance called Country of the Vine by Mary Wibberley. It was a book my mom had in her stack of books by her chair. I actually found a copy at a used book store several years ago and had to buy it. It was published in 1975 for only .75 cents! LOL! My mom, both grandmothers, and several aunts all read romances so it was just natural to start reading them too.
At the risk of showing my age…Sweet Savage Love by Rosemary Rogers was the first romance I ever read. I ‘borrowed’ it from my friends mom. I think I reread it a couple times.

Probably, The Summer of My German Soldier but I really don’t remember.
